Sold me a defective alternator out of the box was running 15v and HOT due to a problem with the battery connector, died soon after leaving me in a dangerous spot on the highway and costing me a lot of money. No response from the company. Says made in USA feels like made in china and all the "stand by product" vibe you could expect from somalia. Got mine powder coated so theres a no return policy. Absolute scam fucked up my car and cost me lots of money. Shoulda gone to JS, mechman totally screwed me over and they are laughing all the way to the bank. read more

Alternator arrived and upon install seem to work before the serpentine belt broke in and was half inch too big reached out and ask them about it . They were very prompt and helpful even though they never experienced the problem I had and we got it solved and I am very satisfied start to end with their service and I would recommend and will be back for another thanks again 320 amp high output new alternator read more

So I'll start this off with I have an 04 yukon xl denali. I did the oem efan conversion on it a couple of years back and have been having an issue of low voltage on hot days with the stock 145 Amp alternator when the fans kick in on high. Its 99% stock just led tail lights and hid headlights besides that stock stereo and everything. I currently work a full - and part-time job while attending trade school, so my schedule is very full with very little time. I was looking for a plug and play alternator that puts out the little more power that I need for the efans. I found and contacted several places, and mechman said they have just what I need. I have pics of all the messages, so no, I'm not exaggerating. I told them my situation and didn't wanna upgrade any wires. Just plug and play. I got a response back saying yep with a link to what I need. So I ordered it. When I got it, I opened it and read the instructions and came to find out it's not plug-in play. You have to connect an exciter wire. Ok, no big deal, but just in case, I contacted them on the phone, and they assured me it's just an exciter wire. The belt and charge wire will fit, no problem. So, with my schedule a couple of months later, when I finally had time, I went to install it. Tore mine down and the stud on the alternator is on the opposite side compared to the oem so the charge cable don't reach and the stud is bigger so even if it did it still wouldn't fit. So put it back together and message mechman on the issue and smart a$$ Tony was oh just unclip the charge box (let the wires bounce around and hit the exhaust) and just drill the hole bigger. This beyond set me off. I would have rather saved the money and gone with a different brand if I needed to make the wires to make it work properly. They won't return because it's past the 2 month return policy. I consider this the worst service. Either Tony doesn't know what he's selling nor anything about the vehicles they go into, or he's lying out his a$$ just to get a sell. read more

I upgraded my 140 amp alternator to their 170 amp unit with the internal fans. I needed to do this due to higher energy demand for high-performance fuel injectors. Very nice and compact and with the output terminal on top of the unit so the installation could clear the cylinder head. I had an issue that may have been my doing with not enough negative ground direct connection from neg bat to alternator. At their recommendation I installed a dedicate 4awg cable from neg bat to alternator. They fixed my unit, no charge, offered excellent installation information/experience and I am back running again and extremely happy with Mechman product and people. read more

These guys are unbelievably great. I had an issue about a year into my alternator, and there was no-fuss warranty repair. Had a new issue that supposedly came from an additional ground not included in the "Big 3" (alternator mounting bracket to battery ground), and I expect most companies to try and refuse warranty at that point, but the guys over at Mechman simply told me to send it in for warranty and get that ground in, super friendly, super cool, I can't recommend their customer service enough. That said, INSTALL A GROUND FROM ALTERNATOR MOUNTING BRACKET TO BATTERY GROUND. But if something goes wrong, it looks like they get your back. Definitely recommend. read more
