Aw man where do I even start? This place sucks and the director aka the Grinch Cheroyl who is extremely rude, harsh, and has no clue what she is doing and unorganized I think she is on drugs or something lol also as soon as you enter this place you need to literally hold your nose, place fucken stinks!. I use to work here for a short time (thank god) now currently working in an Art Studio in New York City as an abstract artist and doing way better since I left this place and not having to wearing a look alike Walmart shirt, I'm thankful for the awesome kids I had in my class and some of the cool crafts even if they made a mess and would run around, looking after them and being their aftercare teacher was great. Alright anyways the director who looks like that Principal from that movie Matilda, extremely unorganized, does not pay her staff on time, does not communicate well with the teachers, does not check the classes to see how they are doing and if the teachers need any support, hides in her office all day doing god knows what. Anyways for the young girls who want to work here, DO NOT PLEASE, there's better environments and places I'm writing this for your own good you don't want to be stuck there and get treated like shit and be taken advantage of cause your young and then BOOM your stuck there. Unless it's part time and you're in college I get it but for a living dude you will be miserable. I speak in regard to Step 2 CK "tutoring". Up front, MST doesn't really say what they can do for you or how they will help you achieve it. You basically have to ask them what they do and even then they don't really say. What they actually do is assign a "smart kid" to you for close to $300 an hour. The thought behind it is that by being around a smart person (via skype), it will pass on those skills to you. In reality, this does not work. My tutor was very nice, but every session left me thinking when does this really kick in? It felt so empty. Was the only qualification that they scored a 250? How does that help me? My tutor randomly picked topics and gave 30 minute PowerPoint presentations that you could easily find on slideshare, online med ed, or others and spoke so fast that I couldn't even digest it. They wouldn't even send me the slides. What's the point? They charge a fortune for this? Seriously, save your time and money. My tutor didn't even wish me good luck before my exam. What's up with that? Maybe I needed to pay another few hundred dollars for that. When my score came, I was really disappointed. I told my tutor and they basically said "yay you passed!", but it was a really disappointing score. I wasted my time and a lot of money on this money grabbing scheme. If you have an endless amount of money and want an email here-and-there with some cookie-cutter pep talk, then give this a shot. My advice is to save your money. I'm out thousands of dollars with a score that really hurts my chances at getting a residency. read more

On the contrary to the popular opinion of step studying, I don't think anyone can truly succeed "alone". Words can't express how grateful I am to have worked with Joe for step 1, and the MST team. I found out through the grape vine via a faculty member at my school about another student who used MST and reached out to the company right away for coursework and USMLE Step 1 prep help. I am so INCREDIBLY grateful I did. The staff took the time and effort required to understand my unique and not so unique circumstances and needs before matching me with a very talented tutor who was patient with my unconventional learning style and was fully dedicated to my success. She was committed to really understanding my struggles and the hurdles I was up against and worked with me literally every step of the way on everything from didactic knowledge and fundamental principles, to question dissection and test taking strategies, confidence building and even at times, gave me the necessary "get it together and push yourself harder because I know you can give me more" speech. We worked together on my coursework and during my dedicated USMLE Step 1 time. Coursework wise, I went from failing and retaking my Cardio, Renal, and Pulmonary NBME to scoring the highest in my class on the Neurology NBME. I improved 57(!!!) points from the school administered Mock Step 1 (CBSSA?) exam to my official USMLE Step 1 exam. More students in my year at my medical school either did not do well on USMLE Step 1 (sub-220) or failed the exam than in years prior, so for me and the personal and academic hurdles I was up against, it was completely worth it. BOTTOM LINE: Yes, it's VERY expensive. BUT, so is having to take a year off to re-take USMLE Step 1 or the cost of studying longer with smaller gains going it alone with minimal feedback and subsequently losing a year's worth of wages down the road. It was completely worth it for me. I recommend it to students who had similar struggles to me and they've all done well. I don't come from money or privilege either. I just made it work and if you are in a situation where you need this level of help or intervention to achieve your goals, you will make it work too. Truth is, if you give USMLE everything you've got emotionally, mentally, and financially, you will be successful too because when you leave that Prometric center feeling depleted, at least you will know you did everything you humanly could and left nothing on the table. I recommend filtering tutors if you use this program for Step 2 CK. In my experience, they are a stronger choice for Step 1 preparation.

There is NO money back guarantee with MST even if you fail your test!!! Don't buy into their scheme!!! Their ads and their customer service representatives are misleading, stating that there is 1.5 point increase of your score for every 1 hour of tutoring... well, that's a lie!!! I spend about 40 hours with an incapable tutor and was charged over $12K... and guess what, I failed my exam!! My tutor was not only late to almost every session but was not up-to-date with the exam material and constantly postponed our sessions. They have no mercy when it comes to charging you. If MST is run by real doctors or doctors-to-be, they need to reassess their motives. Part of being in healthcare is being ethical! If they don't deliver what they say they would, doesn't that make them unethical? Perhaps it just makes them better business people which the medical world does not need right now. There are much much more effective tutors out there who charge a fraction of what MST charges. Don't waste your money and don't put your FUTURE in their hands, they might crush it and not even think about twice! read more
