Lived here for 2 years....sorry for the capitals but anything financial is pretty important in my books. First the bad: -Electric range had no coils in it and the closet door was broken upon move in. Took 1 week for management to replace the coils (finally I can eat, lol) and "fix" the door. -Elevator (2 in building) is constantly broken. Last breakdown lasted over 2 weeks. -Washer and dryers in laundry room are also constantly broken. I have lived here for 2 years and I cannot recall a time when all machines were functional. There are frequent fights among tenants for washer/dryer use in the laundry room. -gym is not in the same building...you have to use the underground parking to access the building behind this one (and it's a sketchier building) -LANDLORD LOST ONE OF MY POST-DATED CHEQUES. Instead of advising me via email/phone/in person (office is on the first floor), they filed a failure to pay rent complaint to the Tenant/Landlord board (and I found out when the paperwork arrived). I went to pay in person after receiving the notice and although the property administrator apologized for losing the cheque, she was quite rude. -LANDLORD FAILED TO USE MY DEPOSIT FOR MY LAST MONTH'S RENT AND CASHED MY POST-DATED CHEQUE. THEY HAVE YET TO GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK. Landlord was provided with 60 days notice; I received confirmation letter of receipt of notice and it even indicated that my deposit will be applied towards my last months' rent. I have emailed and called numerous times to get my money back and the only response I get is that head office is working on issuing a cheque. This review is being written on the last week of my tenancy and they still haven't given me my money back. ***UPDATE: Received refund cheque 4 days before my lease end date*** -Property Management and/or super is hard to get a hold of and when you do, less than helpful. -neighbourhood is sketchy, it is by Jane and Lawrence after all.... Some good points are -building is pretty quiet, except for the lobby (kids making all kinds of noise and ruckus and their parents standing around doing nothing about it). I do not hear anything from my neighbouring units inside my apartment at all; you may hear the occasional sounds from the hallway through the front door but that is about it. -building is kept pretty clean. Cleaners seem to be here daily except weekends. -if you use TTC, bus stop is right outside the front door..literally -building seems to have generators...the common areas and elevators still work during power outages -unit itself is nice and rent is cheap (it is in a sketch area) read more

561 Sherbourne building. Run for your life! Security is rude, never have hot water or pressure. Water leaks they won't fix. Elevators constantly broken. Rent raises during covid and every yr. But my favorite is getting threatened with eviction because they were too lazy to check the lock box. Time to go to Tenant board. I am now paying over 2800 for a 2 bedroom cubby hole. read more

Review for Medallion Corp - Dean Park Rd Building- Scarborough The apartments are okay overall. So far, the tenants that I have encountered in the elevator, laundry room or exercise room are very pleasant! 21 days and no reply to incident that occurred in the underground parking. Safety doesn't seem to play a factor! Side note: There's an underground EV charger that rarely gets used, and I'm quite sure tenants had to pay for this "upgrade." Maintenance does try their best to fix issues, but it often takes multiple work orders before the job is actually done right. One maintenance guy is forever complaining he hasn't had lunch yet, no long weekend for him, he should be on break etc... smh just fix the damn thing then have your me time or quit! Overall, the on-site employee tries to keep premises clean! The real problem is the management office -- communication is terrible. They are painfully slow to respond to emails or voice messages and seem to be "out of office" most of the time. They start projects inappropriate to the neighbourhood then drop them for lack of funding and leave eyesore properties to be leased by popup vendors with no maintenance. Not good neighbours. Would rate lower if I could. read more

worst management, they take 4 or 5 months fixing one thing, property manager is very rude, they harass people, worst place to live in Hamilton is 235 Rebecca street. I advise people to never live in 235 rebecca owned by medallion because the people who manage the building are very rude, uncaring, people who don't even hire qualified people to fix things. Every 6 months to a year they fire the the property manager, administrators, and superintendent. They don't know how to fix things in the building. If I could give this company zero stars, I would. They're the worst property management I've ever experienced. They don't provide a clean or safe place for their tenants, they can barely keep a superintendent for more than a few months (and we go months at a time without any superintendent at all, which causes the building to routinely fall deeper into disrepair and means that unit maintenance never gets done) and they allow almost anyone to move in, meaning that you get neighbours who bring in pests and turn the building into more of a cesspool. The basement of my building is crawling with cockroaches and there have been a suspicious number of fires in their buildings recently, which makes me think some kind of insurance fraud is taking place. Trying to contact the management is nearly impossible and when you do, they act dumb and provide nothing useful. Truly awful. Avoid Medallion like the plague! read more

The property manager is unprofessional, the supers are so lazy repairs won't get completed in your unit. Water could be running all over your apartment and the super will not come and fix it. Any repairs that are done are done with Band-Aid Solutions and it will break again. The building advertises that there was three elevators, there are only one to two elevators that work at any given time. the building likes to raise the rent consistently but that's just to supplement the condos they've built across the street they do nothing in this building nor do they care about the renters inside the building. There are bums around the building, garbage all over outside, people peeing in the stairwells. It's just like Ontario housing but you're paying a lot of money for it. My suggestion anybody that's looking to rent a unit DO NOT rent in this building at 2405 Finch Avenue it is a s*** hole read more

Their building sucks, everything keeps breaking. There's always a leak if not in your unit then in the hallways. Its disgusting and not clean at all. They charge so much rent for such poor maintenance. You can't even be comfortable in your own unit because of noise coming from inside the walls because of their pipes and they don't even put on the heat and AC when in bad and very humid weather even though you control and pay your own hydro. Their customer service and management is horrible no wonder there's always a turn around with their workers. Not to mention their after hours call in line. The workers are rude and don't know anything. The builder needs to go back to school and learn all over again because they are complete idiots. read more

This company has recently taken over our town house complex and I have to say I miss our old company so much they were great. Medallion so far has been nothing but a bad experience and they are so rude on the phone and not helpful at all. The Apartments themselves can be nice if you look after them and are bigger in size. However the management is absolutely horrible. They are rude, unprofessional and complicate everything for no reason. The office obviously has a toxic environment but they force the bad attitude and incompetent work habits onto their paying tenants. You don't get greeted with a 'hello' but rather a 'what?' and refuse to conduct basic simple landlord duties without causing you a lot of grief first. Given the high rents, these places are not worth it. The only pro is that all the tenants dislike and are frustrated with them so it's an easy elevator conversation starter. read more

Medallion is a horrible corporation that doesn't care about their tenants. All they care about is their bottom line. I lived at 650 Parliament St. Found a bed bug in my apartment and contacted management about it twice. They ignored me both times and never addressed the issue. My apartment was always full of cockroaches (even though I do my dishes and take out the trash every day in order to avoid this). If you email management about repairs that need to be done, they ignore you. Their staff are consistently rude and unhelpful. And all this was BEFORE the horrible electrical fire that left 1500 of us homeless. Now things are even worse than before. Management constantly gives us the run around, and makes promises that they later break. Their negligence in upkeep led to a massive electrical fire that put all of our lives in danger. Stay away from them. Renting from them will lead to heartbreak and depression. read more

I was looking to rent an apartment with them and was hoping to schedule a viewing. I got a quick reply, but not descriptive at all and they did not address my inquiry. It was a short, generic reply that contained information that was already on their posting. I thought I would be able to get my answers more effectively by calling directly to their office. Little did I know.... a woman replied and OMG she was not at all helpful nor welcoming. I was trying to get more information on the current state of the apartment, obviously given I am looking to LIVE there, so I was hoping to book a time with them (their office hours are not at all accommodating... mon-fri 9-5? what about the majority of people who work at those times??) she did not offer any alternatives (which is debatable whether it is reasonable, but I think she could've been nicer to me instead of shoving a potential client away) and then I asked if it was possible to just get some pictures (I gave up on asking for innovative alternatives like a video call to view the place or live pics) considering that their website only had pics of the outside and the entrance of the building. (logic?) She shuts me down by saying to go to their website (have you even checked your own website?!) I don't understand the poor quality of their service. Medallion, are you even trying? read more

RE: Rose Park Apartments e.g. Medallion Corporation. BEWARE before you rent here, keep on reading. Ongoing roach infestation and bed bugs. It don't matter how clean you are!!! Bed bugs have been repeatedly found in laundry room. Which has cause it to be shut down at least three times during the last month. This causes an infestation through out the building. You wait for the elevator and don't be surprised to see a roach leisurely stroll across the door. Office staff are extremely rude when you ask anything of them. My apartment is finally roach free after numerous treatments. You say "hello" or " good morning" and don't even reply. Probable because of the office manager Yvonne Y. She is a bully and extremely condescending to tenants. She is probable this way with staff hence the attitude trickles down to the staff which trickles down to tenants. The tenants comprise mostly, lower income, retired or immigrants. Regardless of your economic status we all deserve to be treated with respect, empathy and compassion.
