Since then, every time we have a problem with his chair needing a repair or anything to help make him more comfortable while using the chair the company does not order the part. I had a person to my house to look at the chair (March 2026), left claiming the part order would be submitted to the insurance company, and still don't have it (May 27, 2026). I have made many calls and get the same reply that I will get a call back that day. I called my insurance company today and was told nothing was submitted. This company is the worst when it comes to assisting disabled individuals.

Laurel offered low cost options to buy parts and accessories for power wheelchairs, and I just found out I would be in one full-time. I ended up buying a few parts including a high-end seat cushion that works using pockets of air. These can run up to $400, and they said they had a floor model, or a demo that would only cost me $200. Turns out this cushion was faulty on arrival. I had to send it back to them and they tested it and also found it faulty, but refused to return my money or send me a new one. They said they would either patch it and send it to me. Or split the difference and give me $100 and not send anything, not even the patched version. I had no luck trying to recover any money from them, and to this day they are still holding $200 of my money in theft. On top of this they were very rude and argumentative, and seem to want to escalate the situation far beyond what was necessary. Another shameful example of taking advantage of disabled people who they assume are a docile and easily manipulated client. Long Version: I purchased four items from Laurel medical while I was in the hospital. The company was introduced to me as part of my physical therapy in rehab. They are presented as an official arm of Mercy Hospital who can help with one's wheelchair. As I was going to be in a motorized wheelchair full-time. The dispute happened with a Roho 20 x 18 High profile cushion. Essentially a seat cushion that's filled with air. They asked me if I wanted a used one and I said no. They said they had floor models and demo models which were perfectly fine, and half the cost of a new one. So I agreed, and was charged $200. When the cushion came it did not hold air. It deflated, and therefore did not work. When I contacted them they said I would need to send it back to them so they could test it. So I sent it back at my expense. After waiting several days I contacted them and they said that they tested it, and it was indeed faulty. They said they were going to try to patch it and send it back to me. For $12-$14 you get a hayride up to the top and down when you're done. At the top they include access to the cornmaze, pumpkin patch, and (small) sunflower field with the hayride admission. They even had goats, sheep, pigs, and donkeys up there! It was a long tractor hayride too which was pretty entertaining seeing all the fall decorations. A large pavilion with a lot of shade was available for rest, along with games on the lawn like cornhole and frisbee. They also serve alcohol (beer, sangria, etc) near the pavilion. The sangria was actually super refreshing. 10/10 would recommend coming for one of the fall festivals!

If you work there you will work 15 hours per day with no break and you will have no life. You will have no help and some employees will actively work against you, argue with you, try to avoid any accountability, and cause endless frustration to you. Clients will also suffer because they spread staff so thin causing clients to not get what they need. read more

On the first day on which I was told I could expect the frames to be in-store with their lenses, I got a call asking if I would be satisfied with another color, perhaps green, although I had ordered gold frames. I asked for a full refund & an explanation of what occurred, instead. They told me that the frames were going out of production and that an Under Armour rep repossessed the frames that they had in-store. What I suspect actually happened is they just order frames off the grey web of resellers on behalf of their customers (adding 200$ to the price, for the "service"). Hence their inability to rely on their procurement process. I asked how I might track down another pair of those frames, they did supply me with a contact that seemed reasonable. The people there could not help me, much as I'm sure they couldn't help whatever receptionist or salesperson made the calls to try and procure the frames they had already sold me before they tried the honorable grey web - if indeed they ever did. I'd almost count this as a benefit, but the truth is the kind gesture of letting me get stonewalled by some megacorporation didn't really help me at all, it just wasted yet more time. Never happened before in my life. I've gone through a lot of frames, too. It felt remarkably like being scammed. If I wanted to buy something and never receive it, I'd just go to the grey web myself. By trying to get glasses here, I added 14 days of wearing broken glasses into my life, which has been some minor trouble.

She's made some really great improvements to the business too. I know she cares and has breathed some new energetic life into the business too. My eyes suck, they just do. So they're pretty tricky to work with and Dr. Pusz has always been very patient with me and my questions and concerns. I basically come in every time and say, I think I'm slowly going blind and she just reassures me that's not the case very calmly and I appreciate that. But if I do have valid concerns she will investigate the issue. She has sent me to some specialistists and done tests to just make sure everything is okay (which everything has) and I appreciate that care. The other thing I really like is their eyeglass selection. I definitely go for funkier glasses and while they absolutely have traditional frames, they have some really fun and funky glasses. One pro-tip too, if you like a pair of sunglasses frames, they can make those regular frames for you too! I've picked up some fun striped cateye Kate Spade glasses that are my absolute favorite I own. It takes a couple weeks to get them in, just a heads up. I will say it can take a while to get my contacts in. I get one-day disposable contacts and have a stigmatism. I'm not sure if these are a "special order" item or not. But it's taken up to 3 weeks to get them in and sometimes I don't think that far ahead to order more before I run out. So just be aware you will need to order contacts from them well ahead of when you think you'll be running out. The whole staff is very nice and it's easy to see why, it always comes from the top down. I'm so glad to have Dr. Pusz taking care of my eyes and I actually look forward to my visits to chit chat and catch up!
