When I called, they told me that the vendor had my request and that there was no tracking number. They told me at first until I kept days asking for the tracking number. They finally gave me the tracking number and told me that it would be delivered the next day well, as I looked at the tracking number it's still not delivered and it will be delivered until tomorrow. I was given an ankle brace by my doctor. I just got an invoice from Medicare Equipment saying I owe them $20.93. If I knew it was coming from them, I wouldn't have accepted it. I just found the same ankle brace on Amazon for $9.99. What a joke. Ten years ago they sold me an outdated apnea machine that no longer was being produced. The only place you could get parts was from Medcare and their prices were outrageous. They are scam artists. read more

As with some people on here, I have to agree that this company is terrible. First my CPAP took like 4 Months to get and now to re order supplies takes forever too. Here is the timeline and I have email proof. 1-3-22 order placed for CPAP supplies. So on 1-10-22 item is shipped and today 1-15-22 it is still not here and still in transit. I'm betting I get it 1-18-22 or 1-19-22. There is no auto fill since they say my Insurnace will not do that so every month I have to call on the 3rd day.... read more

Had COVID in 2021 . Needed oxygen when I got out of hospital. Med care supplied equipment .after it was no longer needed I called for them to pick it up.They gave me a runaround about self releasing myself so I left it in the garage till 2023 . They fraudulently billed my insurance the whole time that they knew I was done with it . Finally I called again and they picked it all up. Two days later the scam artist sent me a bill for 200 bucks. When I called the woman said it was my fault for sending a form back and ignorantly told me to pay. DONT USE THESE SCAM artist. read more

If you are a UPMC employee, you have to get your medical equipment through Medcare Durable equipment. I had an at-home sleep study done February 2024, and it's now almost the end of May and I still cannot get the CPAP machine, even though I met my deductible. Medcare now says I need another sleep study for the titration/oxygen part of the CPAP. I have been fighting to get the CPAP, along with my PCP for months. When my PCP contacted Apria Healthcare, they were able to come the same day, only to call back and say UPMC doesn't cover Apria Healthcare and that Medcare Equipment is contracted with UPMC. Being a UPMC Employee is a disgrace how they treat their employees. read more

I have used the same cpap machine for I don't know how long. I know it's been over 5 years. At one point my doctor recommended a bi-pap. I could not get used to that machine, sent it back and went back to my original cpap. Since then they can't seem to get my supply recorders correct. I'm told that a computer goes into my records and sends supplies for the last machine I had. You'd think the computer would see that the bi-pap was returned and that I went back to my original cpap. For the past 18 months I have been sent the wrong supplies. I call, they make all the steps for me to send items back and that the right supplies have been ordered for my cpap. Once again I received the wrong items. I go through all the same steps to get my correct items, now I wait to see if they get it right this time. You'd think that they would correct the information in the computer so that I receive the correct supplies in the future, only time will tell. I hope it is finally corrected in the computer. Computers are only as smart as the person that inputs the information. read more

This is a UPMC Company. They are a scam. (5/2023) I needed a cpap and UPMC told me to contact Medcare. They lied and said I was to pay $415.00 to hit my deductible and UPMC would pay the difference. I had to give them a debit card (would not accept credit card). January 2024, I started having charges to my debit card for around $80.00. After finally speaking with them, they told me that I am renting the machine for a year and then I own it. I explained my situation and thought they made a mistake. I was informed that UPMC was paying the rental and since its a new year, they are charging me until I hit my deductible again. I demanded my card be taken of autopay and removed until this was resolved. Today I was charged again and after researching, I found out that UPMC is part owner. Is this how they get around paying for things? You rent it until your deductible is met and then they pay the rental until its a new year, and then you start paying it again. This company is terrible. Supplies for cpap machine are triple in price for what I can purchase them for online at other places. Shipping takes forever. AND my biggest complaint with them is the dishonest billing procedures. Two times now they have held off on shipping or pick-up and billing for supplies until the new year kicks in so they can get the full price paid to them when we had already had our deductible met for the previous year and had the orders in before the end of year. First time they did it was in November two years ago for cpap supplies and now this year for a new cpap machine that was ordered and ready for pickup in December, but they weren't able to schedule the pickup appointment until January. According to them we owe full price even when my husband was given the receipt showing we owed and paid the $57.21 owed for our part because our deductible was met for the year. read more

I have had more disappointments with this company than I could ever have imagined. They have no paper work or catalog of any kind so that when I call, the "person on the other end" and I can coordinate what we're talking about. I can generally only order things by my own description, and the other person tries to match it by what that person is describing to me. By trial and error, I often EVENTUALLY get what I need. (I have an interesting supply of things that I have no idea what they are. And my insurance company is paying for all of this extra "detritus" ) No one tells me what I can order of any particular item until they tell me that I am at my limit for that item. The frustration is never-ending. From here, my next stop is complaining to my insurance company and the state of PA. read more

They took my husband's order but never placed the order. Weeks of waiting and we tried to call. No one ever answers. Over 45 minutes on hold both times. Just hung up in frustration. Did website chat. They said it would be 7 to 10 days or longer due to holiday. Asked them to rush due to respiratory necessity, present mask damaged and can't be used. Was told it would be emailed to a supervisor for review and the supervisor would call. Never happened. We're done. Will order from somewhere else from now on. We prepaid for this supplies. Sad. Simply the worst. Oxygen delivery scheduled for today after one. Requested a phone call before delivery as my friend does not hear the door and I live 5 minutes away. Called 5 times and was told 5 different things. Told the delivery was attempted (no phone call was ever made to me) and a hang tag was left at the door. On the 5th call, dispatch told me they were no more than 15 minutes away. Waited over an hour at my friends house. No one came and there was no hang tag. Waited from 1PM to 9:15PM for nothing. I'd been using a 3+ year old cpap mask and cushion, it worked fine but the seal wasn't great, so when we finally met our insurance deductible, I went shopping for a new mask. Medcare got me in quickly and I was able to try on 5 different masks. I got the new Respironics Amara View and love it. I'd been having neck pain for a while and it was great to solve both problems at the same time. We had a glitch with our insurance but Gary handled that with one phone call. They are the worst. I use liquid oxygen. I needed my tank filled. I had a hard time getting ahold of the woman the coordinates the liquid oxygen. When I finally reached her, she said a deliver would be arranged. No one showed up during the expected time. I called her again. Finally, medcare brought me a whole new liquid oxygen tank, full. The very next day, the company that fills the liquid oxygen showed up knocking on my door.He didn't call first. I told him that Medcare brought me a new tank yesterday. I sent him away, and I again called the lady that coordinates the liquid oxygen. I was concerned that there is a lack of communication and that no one calls ahead of time. Well, she was able to assure me this would not happen again. She also worked with me to schedule the next visit for the liquid oxygen to be refilled. August 1st is my liquid oxygen tank refill date. Well, i have literally sat at this house all day waiting for my tank refill. I knew they were to come this morning, so around 1:30, I left a message for the liquid oxygen tank coordinator lady at Medcare requesting a call back today. It is now 5:15 on a Friday, and I have not heard from anyone. It is a weekend. What if my tank was completely empty and I had a special event to attend out of the home this weekend? I use and have used CPAP therapy for about 10 years now. My insurance (UPMC) has switched suppliers at least 4 times in that period. My latest supplier is MedCare. A representative contacted me for my usual refill of a new mask and hose which I desperately need (the mask is so worn there's a painful sore on my nose.) Though there is a 6 month period in between refills, they waited until the time when my order of a new mask and hose should have arrived and suddenly need to have the original sleep study done some 10 years prior. I had switched between several doctors as some left (as in leaving the country) and others were simply not my fit. My point is that they must have had said sleep study in order to fill it throughout the years. Obviously, they lost it and are making me pay. They blame UPMC insurance and of course, UPMC blames MedCare. If you can find someone reliable and who actually cares about their customers, then consider switching from MedCare. They are the worst CPAP supplier I have ever dealt with! read more

Dealing with MedCare is one of the worst experiences I have ever had. 1. Billing - I understand that medical billing can be a complicated thing, but 6-9 months for standard CPAP equipment billing is ridiculous. I see a number of doctors and specialists, and it never takes more than a couple of weeks to be billed for services/supplies, but for some reason, MedCare can't seem to bill me in a timely fashion. 2. Customer Service - I placed an order for supplies in June. Months later when I was finally billed and couldn't understand why my bill was so high, I called and spoke to a rep. Two of the issues I brought up were why it took my order so long to be shipped and why it took so long for me to be billed. She said that my account showed that I placed the order a full 6 weeks after the day I placed it. I explained that the date she gave was incorrect and she insisted that it was not. I said that I was not going to argue with her, but I knew the exact date I had placed the order because a significant event had happened on that same day, which I would never forget. When I questioned why it had taken so many months to be billed (which caused me to think that my equipment was covered by my insurance), she said that's just the way it is. I was put on a payment plan because I could not afford my bill. Many months later, it is now paid off, but another rep called me last week regarding payment that I owed. I explained that my bill was now paid off. She told me what the bill was for - filters that they sent me that did not even fit my model of machine. Because these filters were not on the original bill, I thought they were added to my box of supplies in error. The rep immediately stated that I had 7 days to return items and that there was no record of me calling to inquire about these filters. After all the headaches, I had not bothered to call to explain that they sent me something by mistake. I offered to return them since the packages were not opened. I asked for an exchange for the correct filters, and stated that I would pay for the correct ones. She did nothing to assist me with this problem, and is billing my insurance for filters that I can't even use. She made me feel like a criminal, like I had stolen the filters. 3. Management - After this interaction, I wanted to speak to a manager or supervisor, so I called the office. After waiting on hold forever, I finally got someone who said she would connect me to the supervisor. Of course it went straight to voicemail. Making and receiving personal phone calls during the day is extremely difficult for me, so I chose not to leave a message and have to wait for a call back. No email address was given on their website, so the only other method of communication I could come up with was fax. I sent a letter explaining everything and asked for assistance with the incorrect filters. That was nearly 2 weeks ago and no one has contacted me. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more
