I was then told by the server that they thought I left and were about to proceed to charge me accordingly. I don't know what the fuck that was about, but it turned me off. The bartender Sydney (I believe was her name) was phenomenal and very kind and sociable. I will be back when I'm back in town. Chill vibe with locals coming in and talking to the staff like family. We had an amazing time last night for the Meddlesome Meandering 0.5. Parking was a little tight as there were likely more guests that normal for a Friday evening but it worked out. Everyone was so hospitable and energy was great. I love Sours and had already reviewed the menu so I was eager to try the Rainbow Rollerdrome (Blackberry Sour Ale). It was so good! However, we also had the peach cinnamon slushie which was a hit for everyone. The bands were playing and there was a lot of crowd participation. I will definitely visit again. read more

Stopped in for a quick beer and the bartender recommended the pilsner. It was good, especially when considering that many craft pilsners fall off the mark. The bar was crowded and the vibe was chill. The vibe was nice and family friendly (surprising since its a brewing company). They have root beer which my daughter loved. They also have some old school games that you can play if you don't bring your own. Went here for Meddlesome's Meandering 0.5k event. While the event was held mostly outside in the back parking lot, participants had to walk through the the back door to the front of the building to start the 0.5k. Participants received tickets for two free beers. I'm not really a beer drinker, but I'd previously looked at the menu so I had an idea as to what I wanted to try, I just needed to make sure that selection was on tap. I tried the Rainbow Rollerdrome and was pleasantly surprised. I liked it. My second choice was a peach frozen drink. I'm not entirely sure of the exact name, but it was also good. Outside, there was a food truck available and a band was playing. I'll have to visit again randomly to see if there is a band playing but I am looking forward to it since I know they have something on tap that I like. read more

Get the flight!!! I loved it! Awesome place! I truly enjoyed the Yoga Pants beer! This place is very friendly, open, and kid friendly! Private parking and secluded. Very retro vibe! There's an open deck for nice weather so feel free to bring your pets! My husband loved the retro video games, vibe, and overall decor. If you haven't yet, be sure to stop by!!! The service is quick. There's no food menu yet but I was told there are food trucks posted outside during various hours. Last but not least, this place is smoke free which is a big plus to me! Meddlesome offers a great variety of both their own brews as well as selections from Long Road Cider Company. They do offer flights so that you can get a good perspective of all of their selections. Prior to their opening, it was noted that they were offering the controversially named "201 Hoplar" as a nod to the police station's address, "201 Poplar". That particular beer is just a standard fair IPA. Also notable is the seasonal Water Malone, a beer brewed with watermelon purée. That's my choice; nice, smooth, and light. It's not too fruity either. The owners are very personable and have a good vibe in their taproom, amongst the quasi industrial park setting. read more

But as far as the establishment, I have seen them grown from a smaller front where they didn't have food trucks to a place with a band, Back patio, and more beer choices you can try. The choices are few, so when I say more, I mean in a sense that if you taste one you like it may not be on tap next time cause these guys are so creative and coming up with new ideas and flavors. The inside are is good size, kids welcome, and non phone interaction encouraged. Little known, new brew in town off the beaten path. Nice selection of great tasting brews, chill environment, and the people running this show are real people. And for those that love the brew scene but don't drink.... Could they interest you in a house-made craft root beer or craft cream soda? Which.... are delicious beyond expectation. Highly recommend stopping in here for a flight, finding a favorite, and enjoying your stay. Our experience here was interesting. We went in with out baby (who we often take to breweries with us) and they looked at us a little strange and seemed slightly annoyed. I get that a bar isn't always people's favorite place to be around kids, but at 2 o'clock on Saturday, it shouldn't be a problem- and we always feel really welcome with the little one at other breweries. Whoever was behind the bar was also talking shit about other breweries in town, which really turned us off. It's inappropriate to badmouth other businesses in front of customers, and it didn't help that it was our neighborhood brewery that they were talking about. The beer is pretty good, but nothing super impressive. The stout we tried was our favorite. read more

Loved coming back to memphis to visit and seeing a quality brewery in Cordova, who would have thought this would ever happen. High five!! We visited meddlesome on a week night and was preparing for a small crowd but we barely found a table. It was wrestling trivia night which I thought was funny and awesome at the same time. I have to admit I was worried about the non-food options but meddlesome didn't let this gal down. Chomp food truck was outside serving lobster roll realness and fries that were out of this world. Now on to the brews!we absolutely loved the seasonal Water Melon brew and even took home a baby growler of it. So freaking good!! We also tried the sampler of all of their brews and I'm here to say I'm thoroughly impressed with this little brewery that could and will. Way to go meddlesome! So lets start with the beer, which I have had before, because its the real reason to go to a brewery, right? The beer is good. I would put it in the same category as say Memphis Made and High Cotton. Some of the beers are great examples of the related style and others not so much but all very drinkable and to illustrate that more pointedly...I drank more than my fair share. So on beer I would happily give them 5 stars. So now why isn't this a 5 star review? I hate the atmosphere and of the two people watching the counter one was okay and the other was definitely not great. Atmosphere: So it just feels very forced versus the casual cozy feeling of High Cotton and Memphis Made. It feels more like the sterile atmosphere of Wiseacre and Ghost River but without the interesting crowd and the outdoor areas. Add to that the fact that there are kiddie video games on half of the televisions and Star Wars "art" on the walls and I felt like I was at a daycare that happened to serve beer. Employees: The woman behind the counter was pretty attentive but the long-haired kid was everything I hate about a bartender. He would stand in one place and wait for people to come to him. So I stood waiting for a beer as one person after another would be served ahead of me. So I had to leave my seat at the bar, walk down to him, get a refill and walk back to my seat at the bar...ridiculous. I also watched him fill cans of beer to go (crowlers) completely wrong. He would fill the cans leaving nearly an ich of air at the top of the can and then he would seal it up. For the uninformed: Beer + air = funky beer. You are supposed to let the carbonated foam get pushed out by can's lid to ensure a good long lasting can of beer. His glass pours were also often underpoured and overly foamy for a guy whose entire job it is to get paid to pour beer. Finally...my last complaint is one that drives me crazy more than anything. The men's room is a onesie. As a result, there was constantly a line to go to the bathroom. When your businesses' entire business plan is serving beer...a onesie is just not acceptable. Its why back in the day I went to the Dublin House on Madison exactly once...and never went back again. A onesie bathroom...in a bar....and its part of why I will likely not be returning here. A man can only hold it so long! read more

A high quality craft brewery right here in Cordova! I'm a hop-head so I love 201 Hoplar and Dirty 'Dova (bring it back!), and I'm currently enjoying Jerry "The King" Lager. Located in a maze of unassuming warehouses, Meddlesome Brewing is a bit of a challenge to find. We visit Memphis exactly once a year and have been to 4 different breweries - Bosco's several times until 2013, High Cotton in 2014, Wiseacre the last two years, and wanting to branch out, we tried Meddlesome this year. The inside is inviting and the staff is very friendly. They have a few tables, seating at the bar and a little merch section. Since we had our dogs we sat on the back patio, which is nice and spacious but could use some furniture (perhaps it had been put in for the winter). The path from the brewery to the patio was through the actual brewery which I thought was a nice touch. We tried the brown ale and the Black Cat Moan, an oatmeal stout. Both were decent, drinkable beers on the lower side of the ABV scale. Being so new, I feel Meddlesome is still finding it's ground a little beerwise, but overall it was an enjoyable experience. We checked out Meddlesome Brewing last weekend, and I really enjoyed myself! There was nowhere to sit when we got there, but a nice group invited us to join them at their large table. The beer prices are very reasonable, and they have cider and non-alcoholic beverages as well if beer is not your scene. My husband got a flight, which I tasted most of, and I got a Long Road Cider (not made by Meddlesome, but carried by them). The flight was interesting, as they used an old beaten-up muffin tin as the glass holder. I also like that you don't really have to make a choice -- the flight is all of their current beers on tap. The place also has a pretty nice atmosphere, and had a good food truck outside when we went. I'm glad they were busy enough that we didn't have anywhere to sit for a second, and I know we'll be back.
