My IV was yanked out of my arm with anger and I was bleeding out on the floor until another nurse saw my blood all over the counter and floor, she reapplied a new cotton and told me to put pressure on it. The hat I wear is an eagle representing the respect I have for the military and nothing to do with MAGA. I was treated with disrespect and extreme anger at Trinity Hospital. I did nothing to be treated that way. I was in a lot of pain and was treated with extreme hostility to the point I thought I was going to be attacked by the person that got in my face and yelled at me to leave the hospital around 12:30AM because, he said I pissed him off and made him angry, now I know why. read more

My 88 year old mother was admitted after she was seen in the E.R. Her care was excellent throughout her entire stay. The E.R. staff were thorough and efficient. The doctors and staff communicated well and ordered the appropriate tests for her health issues. I would highly recommend this hospital to anyone. I was just in the hospital for 2 nights. This was the first time I came is as an emergent admission. I was at my physician's office where they found a cardiac problem. From my arrival at the ER to my discharge home, all the care was exceptional. My touch points were the ER, CT Scan, radiology, Cath lab, PACU and of course the floor. In this case, I was on the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). In each department, I cared for by people who were very professional and informative. Even the transport staff explained every step. Since my PCP does not round in the hospital, I was cared for by the hospitalist group. Dr. Angelo was my main physician but anyone who visited showed a very caring attitude. They addressed all my needs from education, pain control and even diet. I was very comfortable since I knew that there was always someone that the staff could access. The staff on PCU were wonderful. I especially want to mention KaSandra (my day shift RN), Patty (my night shift RN) and Margaret (my day shift PCT). They were concerned about my health and recovery and were very attentive to all my other needs. I never had to wait for someone to respond whether it was for a question or toileting needs. All three of them are truly patient advocates. Everyone made what could have been an overly stressful experience a lot less so. Although I hope I never have to, I would return and recommend. I'm on the road to recovery and appreciate the excellent start I had on that journey. read more

I want to give nurses Cortney and Ramsey 5 stars. Caring, professional, sympathetic, friendly and hard working. They are in the ER. I came in by ambulance because of an acute attack of diverticulitis by ambulance. No rooms were available so I was placed on a very comfortable gurney in the hall. The entrance is about 100/150 feet away and today it is 53 degrees. Whenever that door opens a rush of very cold air comes in and adds to an already cold hallway. If they need to put people in the hall don't do it on the entrance path. I was in the hallway approximately 3 hours but my nurse made sure I had a blanket. The CAT scan tech was great too. My suggestion is add on more rooms this is Florida where we old people go to die but not by pneumonia. read more

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding the traumatic and unacceptable treatment my daughter received during her recent admission to your hospital. My daughter, who lives with a chronic disease (Sickle Cell) and is also deaf, was admitted for a severe pain crisis. Two days into her stay, after receiving pain medication from her nurse, Clara, she was subjected to what was described as an "unwarranted drug bust." While she was attempting to rest, four to five male security officers entered her room, forced her out of bed, and searched her personal belongings. They also confiscated and powered down her cell phone, which she relies on for interpretation services. I was informed by the charge nurse (Alyson), director (Bryan Steele), and security (Alex) that this is standard protocol if a nurse believes a patient has been in the bathroom too long or appears lethargic. Despite this aggressive encounter, no prohibited items were found, and my daughter was not re-evaluated afterward. This experience has been incredibly mortifying for my daughter and our family. This hospital claims to pride itself on excellence in patient care, yet these actions suggest a lack of respect for sick and vulnerable patients. I have been to this walk in twice and they have disappointed me twice. The first time they me my sons leg was broken after getting X-rays and made me go to a specialist where I spent more money and got more X-rays. My son's leg was not broken so I just spent like 10k in medical bills for nothing. The other time thy misdiagnosed me saying I had vertigo when in fact I had a vertebral arterial dissection and should have been sent to the hospital or had X-rays done. Roaches in rooms. Call lights that don't work or call the wrong hospital. Fall risk patients left with no working call lights, no working bed alarm, rails down. When the patient falls they don't do an incident report if it's "unwitnessed". They also don't call the emergency contact for the patient. Go ANYWHERE else! This place is a complete money grab really really bad price gouging. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes with an eye injury. I received eye drops in ONE eye, the Doctor used a magnifying glass to look at it. That's all that happened, that's literally it. No machines, no imaging. They billed my insurance for $4900 which is absurd, the insurance agreed and denied it. The hospital settled on half. $2450 total which is still completely out of line for eye drops in ONE eye and 15 minutes in house... this is why insurance is so expensive and damn near unaffordable. DO NOT GO HERE unless you are literally dying, way to greedy. read more

Just went in for kidney stones/treatment. I must say from the front door until leaving my Care was 100% excellent. The front desk person was responsive quickly, the ER was wonderful with my acute pain, I was admitted and moved to the 5th floor where Dr. Felix and all the nurses (Erica, Julia and Julie and others) all gave excellent care. I couldn't have asked for better! Dr. DiPiazza and the surgery team also did a great job, despite the hospital being on and off on electrical outage. Amazing. My 15 y.o. daughter was seen at an urgent care and told to go to Trinity Hospital for diagnosis for a possible ovarian cyst. Upon reaching the emergency room my child was admitted and we were informed that there would be three types of x-rays, etc. to determine what was going on. This was NOT a life or death situation. After all the lab tests, x-rays, etc. we were informed that they could not attend to her there she would have to be transferred to St. Joseph's to be seen by a pediatrician. This meant an ambulance transfer. Of course, I was billed for all the tests and the emergency room doctors, etc. Today, a student of mine had the same experience, this time it was a fractured elbow, NOT life threatening. I would question why the emergency room doesn't let parents know that a pediatric patient will not be treated at Trinity but passed on to a pediatric hospital. This appears to be a grab for money!!!!! read more

Had to come here for a tonsillectomy along with a couple other oral surgeries done at once. After surgery I was put in the ICU but everyone from PreOp to Post Op to ICU was phenomenal! Dallas in the ICU was one of the best nurses i've ever had (which has been a lot) and the night shift nurse Lee was just as amazing! Thank you Trinity for taking care of me! read more

I went to this emergency room thinking why did I come to this hospital? However, they took great care of me. They were compassionate and understanding. STAY AWAY...There is a long list of reasons, too many tests with no results among other things and it took four days to get an MRI report.No sense of urgency at all. They ignore the blinking lights outside the patient rooms. It's terrible. Whoever is running this hospital should be fired! It should get zero stars. On a Wednesday night in September, I had slurred speech (later diagnosed as a mini stroke/TIA) and Husband took me to the ER 24/7 a mile away at 9:15PM. After 3 hours, I was in an ambulance, which transported me to the Medical Center of Trinity for 3 nights - 13 miles away. I did not know that ER 24/7 was affiliated with this hospital. I was admitted before 1AM. One of my first tests was for CoVid. It was negative, and I was not required to wear a mask, but everyone who entered my room in 4East was wearing a mask to protect me. Thank you! I was under observation for 2 days and three nights. While undergoing a myriad of tests, I met many caring physicians, aides, therapists, and exceptional nurses. Aides who took me to these tests were personable and efficient. They did not know why these tests were necessary. It was each proficient technician who attempted to answer questions like these: What caused the stroke? Would I have another one? Did I have blockage around my heart or in my carotid arteries? What did my brain look like? How was my physical strength and verbal ability? So many more questions, and all made me dizzy. Every person with whom I interacted introduced him/herself. I liked that! Almost every person was patient and caring. That I liked, too. Two or three out of more than thirty individuals were abrupt and lacking compassion. One was the doctor who woke me at 7AM Thursday morning after I had 3 hours sleep. My room was right by the noisy nurses' center, but I did get earplugs by 4AM that first night which afforded me those 3 hours of sleep. He came, he spoke for a few minutes, and then left 5 minutes later to take a phone call. Or the physician who was dismissive of 2 physicians "learning" from him. I will not say more. When I wrote my 7 thank you notes to my nurses, I hope they appreciated my notes as much as I appreciated all they did for me while I was in 4East. They were angels, as were the aides, therapists, and technicians who were with me during my stay. Even the women who cleaned my room were cordial and hard working. The food was usually good. Unfortunately, twice it was delivered just as an aide came to take me for a test. So it was cold or gone when I returned to my room. One morning, while coffee and oatmeal were cold upon delivery, I enjoyed the blueberry muffin and scrambled eggs which were good for breakfast. Broccoli salad was good and so was pulled pork taco. Desserts were good too, especially when cold. On Friday, Husband and I pressed for discharge. Only one test needed to be read, and we could not understand why it was taking so long. All tests except this one test showed that I should be discharged before the weekend. Around 6:30PM, one of my Angel nurses got my papers in order, and I was on my way home. I definitely wanted my records and scans to see what happened during my stay, and to share these records and scans with my BayCare PCP and allergist. When I called for those records and scans, I told them when I'd be in. That way I could get in and out without waiting for the records to be assembled.. When I arrived, I tried to park in the regular hospital parking area for visitors Open spots were far away. They do have golf cart drivers around, so it wasn't the walk that put me off. I just wanted to get in and out - quickly. So I took a friend's advice. I parked to the left of the hospital in a visitor spot. Once inside, I could not go directly to the records department. I had to register at the front desk - photo ID and purpose of visit. This was quick and easy. It took less than 5 minutes to walk to the records department, show my ID again, and pick up my records & scans. I did take a quick detour to 4East to deliver 8 thank you notes to my 7 nurses, and one for the nursing manager Mandy, who told me on discharge day that if I wrote them, she would distribute them. I got to my car in a few minutes, and was on my way! read more

Initially care was fine, but when it came to discharge. The nurse came in and just said you're discharged. My husband had to go out into the hallway to ask for a wheelchair. Someone came with one and wheeled me to the outside door and then walked away. I had just suffered a huge injury and was very unstable. When my husband pulled up with the car, I tried to stand and almost fell. There were several employees sitting outside And they all just watched. Made it to the car, but I've never seen anyone discharged from a hospital, where an employee did not make sure they got into the vehicle without harm. read more

However, of all the nurses I've had today not one has asked if I needed anything to drink. I saw my first shift nurse once for checking into the room and that was it. One of the worst hospitals I've ever had the time lazy doctors who never wanna to show up and will just tell you flat out no they won't come see you judge mental rude don't care about meds on time but talking all the time makes that hard nurses over worked. call buttons would go without answering for and hour at a time but the best think about it the support staff that clean your rooms and ' that actually take care of you. The only reason I'm giving a two stars is because of the wasteful spending hidden under the guise of hospital policy. My FIL was mandated to stay in bed resulting in fluid build up in his bladder resulting in the need for a cath because of hospital policy that they can't release a patient due to high levels of fluid retention. Hospital's are money making machines and they love when seniors who are on Medicare and or Medicaid come in. FWA is so easy to perpetrate when CMS guidelines can so easily be squirted. Education in the public sector is critical. Don't leave care up to the so called professionals. Money is their primary objective. read more

UPDATE: Because my wife was not admitted to the hospital after two visits, my wife suffered a stroke. I begged with the staff to admit her but my pleas fell on deaf ears both times. The first visit was Sept. 19 and the second two days later. On the Sept. 21st visit, my wife's blood pressure was 226 over 110. I am not a physician or nurse but I know that is a dangerously high reading. They did tests and said she was cleared to go home. They got her blood pressure to 169 over 96 and released her. I took her to another hospital where in five minutes she was taken to the ER then admitted. She suffered a stroke and now will have to go to therapy. If you can get past the ER, I suspect the care at Trinity is decent. It was in the past. I was so upset I called the administrative office three times only to get the voice mail. There was no return call. I was in the ER for two of the falls. You do not need a medical degree to see when someone is in such distress needs to be admitted. This fiasco has caused harm to my wife and has put me under great stress. FURTHER UPDATE: If I had taken my wife home instead of another hospital I have no doubt she would have had a catastrophic stroke. Fortunately, the medical team at Bayonet Point quickly noticed her symptoms and gave her a clot buster which may have mediated the effects of the stroke. I am angry as hell at the indifference we experienced at Trinity. The first rule of medicine, so I have been told, is to do no harm. My wife is harmed. I may file a complaint with the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration. I am also seeking legal advice in this matter. read more

This was my first hospital experience and I couldn't be any happier than how it went. From the ER nurses to the labor and delivery nurses, everyone was so nice and super helpful. A special shout out to Rosanne, she was my main nurse for delivery and I honestly don't think I could have done it without her. She was so knowledgeable and helped me through a natural birth. The post partum nurses and lactation consultants were very nice and helpful as well! The food was pretty good too for it being an hospital! After the great experience I had, I would never want to give birth elsewhere. read more

One of the worst facilities I have ever been in. Crooks. Insane bedside manners from nurses. Attending physician never visits yet writes orders prior to contact with patient. Went in Friday afternoon for possible heart attack and severe nausea. ER did blood work and EKG. Results were normal. Never confirmed if it was a heart attack or not. Insisted they admit me for additional testing. Instead they admitted me for nothing but observation for which nothing was done in next 24 hours. No doctor visits (except medical students) AND ZERO TESTING. Refused to serve me food due to an order of liquid diet from a Dr. that I never saw or spoke too. Nurses all had huge attitudes. After being there for 24 hours I finally had to check myself out. No paperwork from ER or discharge paperwork. No test results - nothing except a huge bill because the ER Dr. put in observation code instead of testing for admin. The financial fight now begins. STAY CLEAR OF THIS PATHETIC HOSPITAL! read more

AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! I was admitted to this hospital and left in worse condition than when I arrived. The nurses are phenomenal, but the DOCTORS DO NOT CARE TO GET YOU BETTER! I was admitted for 6 days and saw 3 different doctors (one that was SO BAD that I requested he be removed from my care and literally not allowed in my room). The total time those 3 doctors spent with me was UNDER 15 MINUTES IN SIX DAYS!!! I was starved for TWO DAYS in anticipation for surgery, at which time I was told by the surgeon that he'd decided not to do surgery and was discharging me. However, instead of actively discharging me (my mental health had gotten so dark, that I'd given up hope and was ready to go home even though I'm STILL ACTIVELY VOMITING, HAVE EXTREME BLOOD PRESSURE FLUCTUATIONS AND AM IN EXTREME PAIN), the nurse kept checking and he hadn't processed the paperwork. So, while in an active panic attack, I checked myself out AMA, as I COULD NOT STAND SPENDING ONE MORE MINUTE IN THAT DEATH TRAP. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE, ANYWHERE ELSE!! read more

Highly recommend for surgeries. They did everything possible since I panic being put to sleep and do not have a good reaction to anesthesia. Every Medical staff member I met with was so comforting, they even gave me some good stuff as they wheeled me to the OR so I knocked out before going through the process of being put to sleep since that scares me the most. 100% recommend. Wish it was possible to leave 0 stars. For a facility full of people who are supposed to be caregivers, you would think there would be some degree of empathy and kindness. NOPE! After my father came to the ER with abdominal pain so severe he could barely walk, they admitted him. They took him to a room, got him settled in, only for it to be the WRONG ROOM! Had to remove all of his machines and take him to an entirely different floor. Upon finally finding where he was actually supposed to be,, it took EASILY over 2 hours for him to get medication for his extreme pain/nausea. He was in the hospital for 24 hours, in which time they ran no tests and did nothing other than suggest he see a GI doctor. Thanks! They sent him home, where he continued to decline and ended back up in the ER, again! Same problem, MUCH worse. Again, they gave him some pain medication which worked for a period of time, finally did an ultrasound, and when they found nothing on the scan, they told us there was nothing more they could do and that he needed to leave with a prescription for pain meds. When we asked further for them to please help us find out what's wrong rather than slapping a pain med bandage on the issue, they absolutely refused. The nurses, I wish we had gotten their names, were the most unkind, unhelpful, and disgusting people I have ever come across. As a healthcare worker myself, how you can go into a field centered around patient care and NOT have any ability to do this baffles me. We heard them speaking in the hallway about a "attractive man" down the hall, they were on their phones the entire time, and provided no help or empathy towards my father or the concern we had as his family. Thanks to their negligence, we left and will never return. We ended up needing to go to the ER again due to his pain, but have since found a MUCH better hospital that cares and has actually begun to find an issue that the Trinity ER failed to notice. I went in to HCA Trinity on July 5th due to a diagnosed missed miscarriage that still hadn't come after 3 weeks. After being here for a grueling 7 HOURS, I got a room and was assisted by nightshift nurses. Although all of the other nurses were pleasant, the one that did my pelvic exam gave me a disturbing remark when she let me know I was going to be discharged. I asked if the on-site ob had said anything about my uterus, as in if anything caused the miscarriage. She said "no, but you don't need any kids anyway, you're young, boys come and go." First of all, i am married to my partner of 4 years and a strong relationship with him as well. Second of all, how dare you say that to a grieving mother, of a child that was VERY MUCH wanted.... So inconsiderate and cold. She should be fired. Unacceptable. read more

I recently went to the ER at Medical Center of Trinity. This was not my first experience with going to an ER, however it was my first experience going to an ER with a heart issue. The staff at the ER were amazing. The head nurse that treated me in the ER Rachael was so caring and calming as well as the other 2 nurses, unfortunately I did not get their names. The ER cardiologist was also very caring. From the ER I was admitted to the hospital for further testing and then treatment. In all I spent 4 days in the hospital on the 4th floor. The nursing staff on the 4th floor were so kind and efficient. I want to thank the nursing team of Michele and especially Greg, they certainly made a difference in my state of mind while I wasn't feeling well. To top it off the food was 5 stars. read more
