To say the least, I was honestly shell shocked by the experience I had with this doctor…read more The story goes like this: I live in the hood, and I have been trying to search for a PCP in the vicinity who could take care of my basic medical needs. So I saw a 4 star review on yelp discussing the strengths of this doctor, and voila, I made an appointment and went into Dr. Chu's office in Forest Hills. So upon entering his consultation room, which is about the size of a standard bathroom of a studio apartment in Forest Hills, I explained to Dr. Chu my reason for visiting him, which appeared to have been ignored. Anyway, as he continued to flip through the medical records of other patients for another five minutes, I began to wonder if he actually noticed my presence. Then he started asking how I heard hus name, and why I chose to see him and not someone else. Meanwhile, he paged his receptionist and yelled at her (yes, yelled at her in a different language) for not paying meticulous attention to the way patients filled out their registration forms... my heat sank. I felt I probably made a wrong decision in seeing him. Dr. Chu then told me he would have to take history, which will last no less than 30 minutes, therefore he said I should not "fool around" because if I do so, I would be "wasting his time." So I thought, perhaps it was a language/cultural issue (English is not his first language) and I let that go. I responded to his questions and we finally got to the section of medical history and current prescriptions. I told him that I am on Zoloft , which he had me spell it out for him, and so I did. Then he looked up in his electronic handheld device trying to find out what "Zoloft " is and its side effects. After doing a 5 sec search, he looked at me and said "Do you know nausea is a side effect of Zoloft? Who told you to take it?" (I told him I feel nauseous at times but it doesn't bother me and it was NOT my reason for seeing him anyway)... I was speechless. For one, I cannot understand how a practicing MD not know what Zoloft is. And two, how could he suggest to me that Zoloft is not a good medication simply based on his 5 sec search on his handheld device when clearly when he had NO clue what this medication is for? He didn't even bother to ask why and for how long I have taken it. These are just some examples of his lack of respect for patients.... there were so many instances when he constantly interrupted me by saying "When I ask you a question, you tell me yes or no. I do not want to know about anything else that I don't need to know about. You understand or not?" Right, I understand the doctors have the most power in deciding what's most relevant and I was not interested in sharing my life history with him either. But interestingly enough, he would push for information such as where I went to college, what school it was...which I thought was information no more significant than my actual medical history and physical manifestations. By this time, I was ready to head out but I felt like I should at least complete the intake with him even though I already knew I would not go back and see him. I finished the rest of the session with him, and in all honesty, those 45 minutes was the worst time I had ever spent with a medical professional. Poor bedside manners, leading questions, lack of knowledge and the worst of all, a lack of respect for patients. And just FYI - whoever said that he "graduated" for Harvard needs to be corrected. Dr. Chu did not receive his MD from Harvard although he hung no less than a dozen of Harvard certificates in his clinic hallway. He simply completed continuing education at Harvard, which by no means is comparable to someone who actually went to Harvard for their medical degree. Enough said...

Awful. Just awful from beginning to end…read more Can you refer to a doctor as a thief and a fraud and not feel bad about it? You certainly can once you've gone to this guy's office. His office claims to accept United Health Care, my insurance carrier. In fact, before I went to see him I called his office to confirm that my visit would cost me nothing more than the co-pay. One of his secretaries, Adrianna, told me she would contact UHC to confirm that. She called me back five mins later and confirmed, as I though, that it would only cost me $20 - my co-pay. I went to the office that afternoon and was seen by Dr. Goldberg in his miserable, tiny flea-bag of an office (there are 2 rooms, and the toilet in the bathroom makes you feel like you're in Lower East Side tenement). He spent most of the visit railing against Obama and his attempts at reform, which is always pleasant- bring politics into a medical appointment! Now.....whether or not you are in favor of Obama's stuff doesn't matter- I don't want to talk politics, especially with regard to finances, with my doctor. Ugh. Then, to top it off, I go to pay my co-pay and a different receptionist tells me that I owe $125, payable NOW. 'It should be much more....', Dr. Lame-A** says when I tell him of my earlier conversation as to the co-pay covering things, "...but I'm not charging you for the throat culture." I politely argued with them, telling them of the conversation earlier and that I was sure my policy covered a standard office visit, but they were insistent. If I didn't have a 101 degree fever at the time, I think I would have told them to just bill me. But instead, I caved and gave them my credit card. Got home, called UHC, and was told that it should have been my co-pay only. Called Dr. S**t-face and was told that, in truth, when they bill UHC they don't get reimbursed in full, and that it takes 2 months for them to get their money. So that's why the $125 was payable in full instead. These guys are lame, fraudulent crooks who have a decrepit office and claim to accept insurance that they then don't recognize. They will over-charge you and then change their story as to why, and you'll end up screwed. Stay away from these crooks.

He doesn't really offer any insight into your symptoms and on top of that, they continually try to book multiple appointments for you. I am sure this is because they want you to pay multiple co-pays. For example, on a general physical they made me make 3 appointments: one for the physical, one to draw blood (which shouldn't require a co pay in my opinion since all he is doing is sticking me with the needle), and one to go over your blood results. You may want to look elsewhere before you start booking appointments here. He may know what he is doing, but he tries to nickle and dime you and talk your ear off every visit. He definitely isn't worth that kind of time.

He has taken care of me since I'm 45 years old when I went to him I was in poor shape he helped me back to vitality . He discovered that I was diabetic and has helped me ever since I have been in several accidents and even had pneumonia as to which Dr Weinstein cared enough to come and visit me at the hospital . Even when I was in a motorcycle accident and he found out that I was in the hospital for that he came and saw me he came and saw me at the rehab I was in recovering from the motorcycle accident in my opinion he is the most terrific doctor and if you're lucky enough to go to this man he will help you better than any other primary health care physician you will ever meet . His courteous staff and his wife are very efficient and professional and Dr Weinstein takes his time to explain your illness and what you should do about it and the prescriptions that he prescribes truly help you he knows exactly who to send you to if it's a situation that you need endocrinologist or pulmonologist or any other needs he will send you to the right orthopedic doctor he will recommend the right cardiologist he's most fantastic doctor just recently he sent me to the correct ear doctor in which this doctor remove the wax build up in my ears from construction work then he gave me a hearing test he completely relieved my hearing loss and was so efficiently professional it blew my mind . Dr Weinstein is more than my doctor he is my friend . And if you looking for a professional doctor that really cares I recommend Dr Weinstein and his staff and swear by his professional help you will never find a more caring doctor in the rest of your life .

I have been a patient to her office since I was in my 30ties, I have survived many illnesses due to her advice on preventative measures. I believe Dr. Kanumilli is here as a Dr. to guide us. if you follow instructions and get tested for what you may or may not have is up to you, I understand that if something negative happens when you go there for a test and it becomes lost is very agitating. I wouldn't like that to happen to me either. I can honestly say that if I didn't get serious about testing I may not be writing this review. Though here I am.
