At first my experience at this location was a 5 star, but that went astray so I'll start with the good story. I went in to get an X-ray and the technician was friendly, helpful, and a Veteran. The quality of care seemed good and he was very empathetic to the pain I was experiencing. When the X-ray results were sent to my doctor's office the results were ready to understand. Being an informed patient I wanted a copy of the images so my doctor told me to contact Medizen to obtain them directly. I called and that's where the lack of service began. It took over 4 minutes to answer my call and I was told to come in, show my ID and they'd burn a CD for me. Instead of possibly obtaining my information first to begin the process they just brushed me off. I went in to get the CD ordered and instead of allowing me to explain why I was there, I was told to sign in. I offered that I wasn't there for imagine, but for records pull and was brushed off again and told to sign in by the heavy set Hispanic front desk assistant. The second lady that helped me was kind and efficient, but hung into my Driver's License after verifying my ID. I didn't get it back until my CD of images was ready. Overall, this could have been a 4 or 5 start experience had the first lady attended to me properly instead of brushing me off. A simple show of appreciation would have avoided this negative review. It isn't about having to sign it, it is about providing good customer service from start to finish. I get that you want to track your service count, but finish we're people too and not just a number. read more

After the MRI is performed, the CD is not given to the patient; instead, the patient has to call to request it. When I call the office, I have to wait 40 to 45 minutes just to get a staff member on the line. If the MRI results indicate a need to see a specialist, the patient should be provided with a CD to show that specialist, thereby avoiding the significant inconvenience of having to make multiple trips. read more

Medizen has 2 locations and this review is for the one on Wyoming St. If you want to have ultrasound appointment right away, result in 3-5 business days, pay $150 up front, and no line, walk in right away, this place is for you. The front desk was very nice and fast since it was only me. The tech came out to call me in right away. The tech here was ok but she did not like people talking, just fyi. I just did my MRI for my back this morning. I have been to MEDIZEN before and it still surprises me how everything is so efficient! Now, this place has a heavy Vietnamese influence but they might be efficient because of this. I will of course be back on Thursday as I have to do another MRI session. 07/31 MRI Session. Absolutely the BEST mammogram I've ever experienced in my very old life! Major kudos to Mai H. for her gifted expertise! She was exceptionally invested in our shared goal of a thorough mammogram! Despite the necessary stuff; by far the most comfortable and confident I've felt in that scenario! Noteworthy!! First time here for a slew of exams. The front desk women were kind, patient and made my new patient experience wonderful. (Making the appointments and getting reminders also went great.) They run on time, explain every step, the entire environment (waiting room/tech rooms are clean, quiet) is relaxing and efficient. If I'd known it was this pleasant I would not have procrastinated. Horrible place! I came in for an appointment scheduled weeks in advance. I arrive the day of my appointment to bring in my brother. They told me there was no appointment and that I cancelled it the day before. This was never true!! I told them to get a hold of the person who called me whos name is Itzel. They called her in through a phone call and put her on speaker. Itzel continued saying she had called me and a male answered saying he wanted to cancel the appointment because we had already gone to the ER to take care of it. NO ONE had my phone at the supposed time she called and I have no missed call from them at 3:30 pm how they said. This is a joke. It is very unprofessional. I asked them if they could show me the call log to verify the call and they told me call logs are deleted every day. I found that weird. So now theres no proof that they called or didnt call. I have my call log and I have an automated phone call from them CONFIRMING my appointment at 10pm. I never once called. This call and message was sent by them at 10pm. If i so called "cancelled" why would they send me a confirmation for the next day?! They are LIARS!!! I cant believe this happened and still lied about that supposed call and made up a story of how our conversation went. I do not recommend this place and I will be filing a complaint with my insurance. read more

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews. My experience was nothing like some of the others. I appreciated the fact that no appointment was required plus they offered Saturday hours. Brought the referral letter from my pcp to this terrible place, front desk did not even look at patient beside saying " sign in" which is supposed to be "please sign in". I told that rude lady that I just come to make an appointment, why i have to sign in and stay in the queue behind more than 10 others patients waiting for the imaging, and she repeated "sign in" . The front desk lady (the one who speaks Spanish) was very kind and helpful. The office was busy and crowded, but she handled everything well. At first, the X-ray technician seemed nice, but things quickly changed. My mom had an appointment for both feet. She is recovering from a traumatic brain injury, which has affected her balance and strength. She also has an MCL tear, a torn meniscus, and leg stiffness from being in a coma for a month. When we went in for the X-ray, I noticed she would need to step up onto a platform. I immediately told him she couldn't do that--she has trouble balancing on one leg and can't bend her knee properly due to her injuries. He insisted the order said she had "no restrictions," but I explained that while she can walk a few steps with a walker, standing on one leg and bending her knee is not possible. He didn't seem to understand and called someone else over. Then, he started rushing us, saying he had other patients to see. He moved my mom's wheelchair carelessly, so I took over. After taking an X-ray, I asked if I could take a photo of the result, as other places have allowed it, but he said no. He tried taking another shot but got frustrated when it didn't work. He roughly adjusted my mom's feet and spoke to her in a way she couldn't understand, (neither I). When she didn't respond, he became impatient and started pulling her feet forcefully. That's when I lost my patience. My mom, who only speaks Spanish, didn't understand what he was saying, and instead of being patient, he was rough and frustrated. I raised my voice and told him to stop, because he was hurting her. He backed off, but then abruptly said the images he took might not even be usable. I understand that certain conditions made the X-ray difficult, but his lack of professionalism and care for my mom was unacceptable. No one should be treated that way, especially someone with her medical history. His name is Thu, I don't know his last name. read more

Staff are unprofessional. Rather than doing insurance verification to check for patient's share of cost, they always require me to pay full amount and said it will be reimbursed if insurance pay. My insurance ended up paying 100% of cost for several different incidents and they never pay back as promised. Staff were rude every time I ask. The people at the front desk are miserable and hate themselves. The old Asian lady kept asking me what was my order number. I said my doctor already sent the order for my MRI many times otherwise I wouldn't have been able to make my appointment. It was incompetency on their part when they realize they messed up. They also never corrected the spelling on my first name when I asked them to. The front office also is really dirty and dusty. I came back to ask for a copy of my records. They called me for paperwork at 9:35am. They took my info and had me filled out the forms. At 9:40 I gave them back the completed paperwork. They told me to wait then 7 mins later. They told me my appointment got cancelled because I did not come 15 mins before my appointment. It is the most nonsense at all that I got experience. They canceled my appointment just because I came on time. No matter how I told the receptionist that plz be reasonable as I was not late for my appointment and my house is far from the office. The refer letter gave me 3 months to do a memogram but they kept calling to cancel my appointment with the reason the machine was broken! I was very patient until the last time when i was shown there in person . All the staff said that I'm not on their system, nobody apologized & kept blamed on me, they said that I'm going to the wrong location & wrong appointment time! I saw so many clients who got mad because they overbooked. They said all the staff have lunch at 1pm-2pm but why they booked me & some other clients at 1:30pm ! Bad business ever ! The waiting room was standing room only! I had an appointment that they STRESSED that I be on time for, in fact be 15 minutes early to fill out forms. It is such a zoo in here, they are using the waiting room to store bicycles, now instead of providing seats for standing patie I was here 15 minutes early, I waited 45 minutes, as I reminded the receptionist that I WAS NOT HERE FOR AN X-RAY! The guy I talked to earlier in the afternoon, who was worried I would be late, told me to be sure to tell them NO X-RAY, CT SCAN! When Quinh and her pal at the front desk, sounding asthmatic as the sighed and scoffed, as I ask that the "Surgical Consent" form please be filled in with the procedure before I am expected to sign it... apparently a novel idea, as it made the two little girls at the reception desk laugh . After another hour, they still hadn't figured out how to do the CT Scans or Angiograms that were called in and scheduled directly by my referring doctors office, and had been on their books for 4 days!! They don't seem to have ANYTHING prepared to provide these tests. NOTHING IS PREPARED FOR THIS TYPE OF TESTING! The office and the Office Manager, Tien, is completely unprofessional and lacking any management skill or experience! This place is a cash mill... a cheap cash x-ray joint ($30.00 is the going rate as discussed in the waiting room), who is NOT EQUIPPED to do professional x-ray or Nuclear Medicine imaging; I wonder if they would charge my insurance company $30.00? PLEASE - Go anywhere else if you have a serious medical issue. You deserve better, professional, medical care with a licensed physician on the premises! If you are ill and in need of quality diagnostic information! MediZen is the last place to go unless you need a cash-and -carry, cheap chest x-ray! They do walk-ins which is very convenient, I came by right after my Dr. gave me a recommendation and was out within 30 minutes. They were super quick about setting up the rooms and explaining how I needed to stand for my x-rays. Everyone from the front staff to the ppl taking my x-rays were friendly and professional. 100% would come back and recommend! -Looks like the negative reviews came from unreasonable people, who might have had a bad attitude from the start. - The review saying that they barely spoke any English seems pretty racist since at most they had a slight accent, but to say you couldn't communicate? Nope. - It's common sense for businesses to tell you to call back if you don't hear anything. Calls get missed, numbers get typed wrong, people don't clear their full voicemail logs, etc. That was an unreasonable reason to lower ratings. read more

Called to inquire when the Doctor can review the medical records for biopsy to be scheduled and they said check back next week if you don't hear from us. How about they check back with patient? Turns out the Doctor went on vacation and will be back in a week but that information was withheld. If we knew this we would have gone somewhere else. I cringed and moaned when my doctor sent me here to get chest x-rays - I mean, sure it's $30 - which I'm sure is a steal, but the reviews really didn't make me look forward to this visit at all. I called a day ahead to see if I could make an appt, but the guy that picked up told me chest x-rays were walk-in only, however, the wait shouldn't be too bad depending on the time I came in. I arrived with two hours to spare before my next appointment down the street. The parking lot was packed and I almost had to park a block away, when I turned around and managed to snag a spot that had just opened up. Was pleasantly greeted by a young man who was very friendly and receptive as I entered the reception area. I casually dropped a comment on all their negative Yelp reviews. The waiting room was fairly empty considering how all their parking spots were taken. I filled out some forms, paid my cash fee, and was called about 10 minutes later. The entire procedure was quick, painless and I'm still surprised x-rays were only $30. I guess we'll see if that's acceptable to the doctor when she gets the results in a few days. If I could give no stars I would. Cammie and Tyler are rude, incompetent, argumentative and claim my Mom doesn't have a chart with them. She has been seen there at least 5 times since 2018 for MRI's and Cat Scans. This facility is ran by children and they refused to make her appointment even though her Dr faxed her authorization last week and so did the insurance. They claim they can't until they know a code. Called her Dr back and they said they have continual issues with Medizen and their lack of care and empathy and proper communication with patients. This place should fire all their front desk staff and start over. Oh and they barely speak English so that's always fun to try and communicate. read more

I was a bit scared coming here after all the bad reviews but after I my appointment I realized this place wasn't bad at all. Don't listen to all the bad reviews. My doctor gave me a referral for my fetal 3D imaging scan. I called to make an appointment and they said to come 30 mins earlier and drink a certain amount of water beforehand. They need a full bladder for a good picture of my cervix... Being pregnant makes holding my bladder VERY VERY DIFFICULT and they should know this. THEY MADE ME WAIT ONE HOUR BEFORE TAKING ME. I'm glad I didn't get a UTI from this but it was EXTREMELY uncomfortable!!! They should plan ahead before for pregnant patients!!! The ultrasound tech was very slow and she constantly had to go back and re-name and re-do scans bc she didn't label them properly or would find a better image 5x later. I'm glad she let me pee before she tortured me for another hour. The room was also very very small... and it was hard to be in a comfortable position for her to image... The experience wasn't great. I didn't have a choice so I did my time and left. If you have to choose, don't go here. Magnolia Imaging Center is better, I did mine there last time. I had a better experience! read more
