Chicken Shawarma Plate with Hummus and Hookah
    Damond W.

Me and my wife had a very great experience at this location. The music was playing, the ambiance was peaceful, the hookah was smooth, and the was very delicious. The employees were very chill and checked on us to make sure everything was good. When you get a chance to come here make sure to try out the refresh drinks. Real fruit inside of them and they are as the name says. Refreshing

Medmix is a place where you can get some Hookah, Mediterranean food and drinks all at once. They have a good sized outside seating area and a good variety of items to select for. While the selection and area looked good, the food, hookah and everything was just ok as well. I had ordered the Al Fakher Mint, and a Beef Shawerma which comes with fries as well and a pot of Mint Tea. They also have heaters outside during the cold season. The Hookah was fine but there was a little bit of an after taste from the previous hookah which just means they don't wash inside the stem or change the water but it was still better than some of the other places. The Shawerma was good in flavor but the meat was a little too dry. Now I believe the reason is also because on a Thursday at around 9pm we were the only people sitting there so things may not have been fresh as nothing was being ordered. But at the end of the day everything was just good, so around the industry average mark in my opinion.

Fellow habibis come check this place out. Wanted to find a nice middle eastern spot since we had just come back from Lebanon and we're still craving the food. Went with a few dishes, hummus, kofta, chicken shawarma, falafel, fattoush salad, and they were all fantastic. The taste is there, and it absolutely satisfied our Arabic food cravings. Hummus is creamy, kofta is well seasoned, falafel is delicious (green on the inside and that's how you know it's good), and even the chicken shawarma was pretty great (need to try the beef next time). Not only this, but the the people who work here are amazing, and made sure we were well attended to, and gave us some a rice pudding on the house. Nice place, has indoor & outdoor seating. Outside has overhead shades so we decided to get a hookah (lemon mint) as well and it hit the spot. Overall, I would say MedMix is Habibi Certified, and whether you're Arab or not, give this place a try!

Super expensive. Hookah was good but overall this place is super expensive. The service is just k. The guy brought out bottled water for us and we thought it was free but apparently they were chargeable to us, $1 per bottle. He didn't event tell us that the water was not free. We thought that they were out of regular water or something was wrong with the tap water or their filtration system. Then I actually asked him about it cause I had a doubt that they would certainly charge us. As soon as I asked him, he is like "yeah it's a $1 for each bottle". Mind you! we had already opened one of the two bottles. He then proceeded to make a face. Hence I mentioned to him that cause he didn't let us know about the charge that he won't charge us, and I said it in a polite customer friendly way. Still I got no answer from that server! Finally the manager came out and he calmed the whole situation and we didn't end up paying for the opened bottle of water. So these scammers actually charge you for water and they won't tell you about it. The food was good but you pay for every little thing. A small side of hot sauce was $2. I would certainly not recommend this place.

First time coming here, I was craving falafel so I decided to check this place out since I live close by. To be very honest, the food took awhile to come out even though we were the only ones (me + 2 people). The food was extremely pricy for the quality in taste. My falafel was sadly overcooked, extremely hard, and disgustingly dry. I paid $20 for my cold meal, almost seemed like our food was leftovers from the day before or something. I felt robbed and very unsatisfied, not to mention feeling bad I recommended to try this spot to my friend and boyfriend. I'd save your money and go elsewhere! **Also there is no air conditioning or shade, the sun beamed through the entire time which sort of sucked since it was a pretty hot day.

We arrived at 6:30pm Wednesday. Our food here was absolutely delicious. All of the food was perfectly seasoned. We will be back for sure. Thank you for the yummy meal.

Unfortunately, I was under impression this place will be my spot this summer but after my last visit I will never go back again. I ordered two hookah and one pot of black tea for 3 people . The bill came out after 15% tip $96.76 which is ridicules . I didn't say anything because I had visitors with me . We were the only people in the place and they did not even gave us a good service. The coal guy stopped once for the entire 3 hours of our stay . Hookah in the website 19.99$ and they charged us $29.99 which is ridiculously expensive . I won't be back again

Came here on a Sunday Night with my friends who wanted Mediterranean Food. Coming in they have like a Togo area but outside area is where the real stuff happens. Ouz directed us to our seats and recommended what to get. He recommended the Mixed Kabob plate and the Lemon Juice. Mixed Kabob Plate- Meat is pretty good. The shawarma is actually pretty good along with the beef. Chicken is also moist unlike other places. Rice also had flavor and hummus was literally just right. It also comes with three pita bread! Lemon Juice- pretty good! It's really sweet though and expensive. I like that the mint flavor is coming out! Highly recommended plus I saw A LOT of people got it! Overall, this place is great! I like how they have so many options. Ouz really helped out table and brought out the good stuff. Also he cleaned after my mess and was chill about it. Will come back soon to eat this place!

Terrible experience picking up our order. We live half a mile away, online ordered and waited towards the end of the pick up time. Once arrived, there was poor service, lack of acknowledgement, and the order was not ready. We don't mind waiting, but once they verified the order, our pick up time was updated to another 30 minutes and they denied having part of our order even though we ordered, at this point, an hour ago. The meat was dry and over cooked. The only hope was the shawarma wrap. It was actually very tasty and the best part of our order.

First time here with my husband and I highly recommend coming! I don't know why we waited so long. The service was great and the food was high quality. We felt welcomed as soon as we stepped in. We had peach mango hookah with the chicken shawarma plate (which feeds 2), the hummus appetizer, and the refreshers (mango and coconut). We will be back for date night very soon!

Ground mix plate, 1 ground beef and 1 ground chicken, hummus, cucumber salad, rice and pita.
    Richard W.

Love the food here and presentation. Usually after I'm done with the gym, I load up on protein here with the ground mix kabab plate. The combo comes with a cucumber salad, 2 skewers (1 ground beef and 1 ground chicken) basically a kofta or koobideh, hummus, 4 pieces of pita, and saffron rice for $20 and some change. With inflation on the rise, this is a bang for your buck in my opinion. Service is great and they also have a hookah lounge in the back patio. The ethnic music bumping gives it a nice cultural experience.

Side of fries. Comes with twice this much. Very good fries.

When I visited last week it was take-out only. All employees (cooks and cashier) wearing masks and gloves. I saw them change glove constantly when switching between activities. Plexi-glass barrier. I was very impressed by their safety protocols. I recommend you call to place your take-out order. They only had about half of the menu available even though online ordering showed everything. I had the falafel plate which only came with hummus and salad since no other side was available. Falafel was some of the best I've had. Only ones I've had better is at Kareem's in Anaheim. Crispy exterior, soft fluffy inside, and loaded with flavor. No Tahini was included in my take-out order though so that was disappointing. Guess I need to ask for it? Hummus had nice texture and was flavorful. I used it to dip my falafel in since I had no tahini. Side salad was fresh but they forgot to put on the dressing so it was dry lettuce, tomato, and cucumber. Pita bread was extremely stale. My wife had the chicken shawarma wrap. This thing was huge. My wife let me take a bite and I was blown away. So much flavor going on. I'll be getting that next time. She got a side of fries too which was so massive we were able to share. I saw some other reviews saying the fries were not good but it looks like they've changed the product. They were excellent for our order and cooked perfectly. Prices were surprisingly cheap, quality high, just a few mistakes preventing me from giving 5 stars. For a newer place that opened in the middle of a pandemic though I'm very impressed and can't wait to return. It's kind of tucked away in an old building behind 7-eleven. It's adjacent to a mosque though so I'm sure they get a lot of traffic.

Cairo Restaurant & Cafe - Anaheim Rating: (5/5)…read more I ordered from Cairo Restaurant & Cafe through Uber Eats, and this ended up being one of the most meaningful food experiences I've had in a long time. For context, I come from Egyptian heritage. I'm first-generation American, and both of my parents grew up in Cairo. The dishes I ordered -- Hawashy as an appetizer and Makaroni Bechamel (Bashmil) casserole -- are foods I grew up with. The last time I had this exact meal cooked for me by my mother was several years ago, so placing this order felt like a gamble, especially with the restaurant being all the way in Anaheim while I live in Irvine. That gamble paid off immediately. From the very first bite, the food tasted unmistakably authentic. The hawashy was deeply seasoned, rich, and comforting -- exactly how it's supposed to be, not watered down or adjusted for convenience. The makaroni bechamel was the real emotional gut punch in the best way possible. Creamy, savory, perfectly spiced, and layered the way it's done back home. It tasted like something made with care, patience, and respect for the dish. I'm not exaggerating when I say this meal hit me hard. After one bite, I literally called the restaurant just to thank them. I asked to speak to the manager and told him what this meal meant to me -- how it tasted like something my own mother would make, how it brought back memories I didn't realize I'd been missing. That call wasn't planned. It was instinctive. Huge shout-out to Zayne, the manager, who was incredibly kind and generous on the phone. He even sent along kunafa for dessert, which was the perfect ending to the meal -- warm, sweet, and beautifully made. Beyond the food itself, the packaging deserves real praise. Everything arrived hot, which is not easy, especially for a casserole like makaroni bechamel. Once that dish cools too much, it loses something important. This didn't. It arrived as if it had just come out of the oven, which speaks volumes about the care taken in preparing orders for delivery. This is not a 5-star review because of nostalgia or heritage alone. It's a 5-star review because the food was genuinely outstanding -- rich, decadent, comforting, and made the right way. It is very hard for me to say that something compares to my mother's cooking, but this truly came close. I cannot wait to come in person in the next few weeks. Cairo Restaurant & Cafe didn't just serve food -- they delivered a memory.

As somebody born in Iraq and raised around real Arabic food in Dearborn, Michigan. Yes you guys met…read morea real Arab! this place was honestly offensive. I know exactly what authentic Middle Eastern food tastes like, smells like, and looks like. This was not it. This felt like recycled cafeteria food dressed up for people who have never had the real thing. For almost $65, I genuinely felt robbed. Everything tasted old, aged, reheated, and low effort. Nothing had freshness, brightness, or quality behind it. Real hummus is supposed to be balanced between chickpeas, tahini, lemon, garlic, and olive oil. Even food writers and traditional recipes describe hummus as a smooth blend where the chickpeas are the foundation and the tahini supports the flavor -- not the other way around. Apparently this restaurant never got that memo because I'm pretty sure they accidentally served me a bowl of straight tahini and forgot the hummus entirely. I thought chickpeas were one of the cheapest ingredients on earth, but somehow they managed to make hummus without any actual chickpea flavor. It was bitter, muddy, heavy, and completely drowned in sesame paste. Whoever made it must've been in a personal blood feud with olive oil and lemon juice too. The fattoush was an absolute disaster. Real fattoush is supposed to have freshness, herbs, vegetables, citrus, and crispy pita with texture and balance. What I got was a depressing garden salad tossed in cheap dressing with pita chips fried so hard and soaked in old oil that they were basically edible roofing shingles. I love pita chips, but these things were NOT brittle like glass. I felt like I was eating hardened gummy bread. I genuinely thought I was going to crack a tooth. They tasted like stale fried scraps reheated over and over again until all flavor and dignity left them. The tabouli somehow had even less life in it. No brightness. No freshness. No clean parsley flavor. It tasted like it was prepared months ago and forgotten in a refrigerator. Even the pita bread was stale. STALE. That alone tells me everything I need to know about the kitchen. Any real Middle Eastern restaurant knows fresh bread is sacred. " How dare you people!" Then to top it all off, the attitude was horrible. Cold, dismissive service from people acting annoyed that customers even exist. The overall cleanliness and presentation of the restaurant honestly made the entire experience worse. Besides the young girl working she's the one star for my review. California desperately needs to stop letting places like this claim they serve "authentic" middle eastern food. This is the kind of place that survives off hype, location, and customers who simply do not know better. If you grew up eating real Iraqi, Lebanese, Syrian, or Dearborn-style food, you will immediately know something is wrong here. I left overcharged, disappointed, and honestly feeling sick afterward. One of the worst Mediterranean food experiences I've ever had.

No one checked on us, so my husband had to get up and find the manager to ask for a replacement. We switched to Double Apple and it was the same thing: basically flavorless. We asked for water and the manager dropped off bottled water without saying anything. It's really frustrating when you're not told upfront that there's no free water. If I'm paying for a drink anyway, I would've preferred tea. Once again, we had to track down the manager to ask him to swap it out for tea. We also ordered a combo kebab platter. The presentation was nice, but the food itself was average. The meats were decent, but the hummus was pretty bad. To top it off, the guy who had been standing at the host stand (who we later realized worked there) sat at a nearby table watching videos loudly on his phone while we were eating. Super annoying and unprofessional. Overall, poor service and food that didn't really deliver. Not a place I'd rush back to.
