In December of 2024 Med Star transported my husband and I to HFH in Novi after we were hit head on by a distracted driver. My husband was not injured but was in shock. I suffered 5 fractured ribs. The Medstar employees did not make any sort of assessment of my injuries. They simply moved a gurney near the vehicle and asked me to get out of the vehicle, stand up, walk to the gurney and climb on. When I complained, they simply moved the gurney closer. I was still required to get up on my own and walk to the gurney. It was agonizing. What if I had broken my back? There was virtually no assessment of injuries performed. They threw one blanket on me while I shivered in shock. There was virtually no treatment or assessment done during transport. I felt like I was in the back of a moving van. My husband was also in shock but no assessment of him was performed nor any treatment given. The van appeared to be devoid of equipment while the staff seemed devoid of any training. An uber ride to the hospital would have been more comfortable. read more

Arrived to the scene very quickly, handled me with care. Hospital was not very far, but was a very smooth ride thanks to the driver.

i'm paralyzed so i need medical transportation to my doctor appointments and to return from the hospital after treatment i made a appointment with medstar to be picked up at 6 pm from henry ford acention they came and picked up another patient who just so happens to reside at the same nursing facility as i do now this is the second time that this has happened to me the other time it was the other henry ford location if you require this level of service be forewarned!!! read more

I have called them several times for patient transports from the hospital to their home. When I do they usually give me a pick up time that is atleast 3 hours from the time of the call. Then they are always atleast 2-3 hours past the time they gave if they show up at all! Horrible customer service! If I could give 0 stars I would! read more

I just wanted to share about our bad experience from this company. We called 911 and they are the ambulance that came but refused to take my 79 y/o Mom to the hospital when she had the COVID because they said she's not too sick without properly assessing my Mom's condition. My Mom got even worst with her breathing, her SPO2 goes down to 85-87% as soon as she moved and can't breath and really weak after several hours that we have to call 911 again and thank God it was a different company that came and took my Mom to the hospital right away. I had COVID and sick at that time too. My husband is a Nurse and got sick first from work (that's why we all got sick at home) and was in the hospital already that time. I wasn't getting any better too staying at home for 11 days fighting the COVID and so I have to call 911 also for myself because I was having short of breath, on and off fever and my heart was 129 bpm already. I felt weak and couldn't sleep. Unfortunately, it was Medstar Ambulance that came again and refused to take me to the hospital because I wasn't too sick. I just beg them to take me because I know what I'm feeling. I was alone at home and I can feel it I'm not getting better at all and continue to get worst. The EMT said that they will take me but the hospital will just send me home without again properly assessing my condition. Same as what they did to my Mom. They finally took me but I heard him reporting to the hospital personnel that I'm not too sick and I should be sent home. I waited for hours in the ER because I know and felt it, it was because of what he reported that I'm not too sick and so I was not prioritized but at least finally one doctor did a complete assessment and advised for me to be admitted. Then Medstar Ambulance charged my insurance for more than $730 plus I have to pay copay and when I called them about the bad service I received, they even are rude. they sent me a bill 217.00 said past due so I paid it with a credit card the next day they sent me a bill saying I only o them 165.00 now they wont refund my 50.00 refund just one lie after another. the lady in billing is very mean and dont want me calling there. read more
