I am not happy at all. Came in due to a fall yesterday so my foot is in extreme pain. I made an online appointment for 11am. I arrived about 1045am. I did most of my check in online. The finished it when I arrived. I was taken back to the room about 1055am. My vitals were taken and I've been sitting in the room ever since. Around 12 noon someone came and apologized and said that the doctor would see me next. Well it's 1230pm and I still have not been seen by a doctor. Crazy thing is the waiting room was completely empty when I arrived. I'm assuming that patients must have been in all the rooms. This is just crazy. I've been waiting so long I might as well just went to the emergency room. I'm pretty hot, pissed and in pain. Wonder what time I'll actually be seen. I'll finish this review after the doctor comes in. Well doctor finally came in at 1235pm and wants to get an X-ray. So let's see how long it will be before that is taken. Ughhh Ok X-ray was taken at 1245pm. Now waiting for them to read it. I got out of there by 1:40. Thank gosh it was only a foot sprain. So I walked away with crutches and a brace. Not so sure if this place will be a first choice in the future considering I made an appointment online and still was here for hours. read more

I needed an immunization and form signed for grad school. I scheduled a "school physical" per the options on their website. They told me I had to self pay and they don't submit to insurance, and they repeatedly told me that they are an urgent care center and don't provide physical exams. Since I didn't really need a physical, just one booster vaccine and the form signed, and they said they could do that, I agreed. But they also gave me a price list with 3 different types of "physical " exams listed!! But still said they don't do physicals. Then the NP checked my vitals, gave me a booster, and signed my form. I was charged for the vaccine ($90) and also charged $115 for the signed form, per their price sheet for "physical" even though they continued to say they don't do physical exams and did not provide one!!! So, $115 for a signature?!? Ridiculous and they don't seem to know what they are doing. read more

I'm so glad this facility is available. Every time I have had to go in there, they've been prompt, professional and very attentive to my needs. I injured myself at 4:30am. Woke up at 8 realizing I needed to see a doctor. They saw me right away, was able to do an X-ray on site, and come home with a treatment plan. It's good to have great medical care without having to go to the ER or wait days for an appointment. read more

I brought my wife who has dementia to a scheduled appointment for conjunctivitis. Nobody else was waiting and they brought me back and the nurses were very kind to my wife and understood that she was difficult with the vital signs and nasal swab. Then they brought me back to the exam room where I had to wait for 2 hours which made my wife quite agitated. The doctor did not take a history or do an exam except to listen to my wife's lungs on one spot through her outer coat! The recommendation was that if things got worse to take her to an ED where they could get 4 or 5 people to hold her down for an exam. Verdict: Kind nurses. Terrible doctor. read more

I went to this facility for a pre-surgical physical at the instruction of my doctor. I had not been to MedStar Prompt care, but since my doctor was a MedStar physician, I thought there must be a reason they suggested this facility (maybe they could access the results since they are both MedStar facilities???). I provided my insurance card, paid my co-pay, and was given the physical as specified by my surgeon's office. A month later I was sent a bill for the entire amount of the pre-surgery physical less my co-pay. When I called, they were not at all helpful, and told me I needed to call my insurance company. When I did, I was told the reason the claim was rejected was because MedStar Prompt Care coded it wrong. They listed this as an urgent care visit, not for the pre-surgery physical. I called MedStar Prompt Care and was told they would correct the error. 2 months later I received a bill again for the service. When I called to discuss this with MedStar, I was told because they are an urgent care facility, and don't have a code to bill it as anything but 'urgent care" or "non urgent care". REALLY??????????????? You knew this was for a pre-surg physical, you did exactly that, you were recommended by the surgeons office, and you can't bill for what you did??????? I have filed an appeal with my insurance company (they were quite shocked that MedStar Urgent Care could not code the procedure correctly), I have no intention to pay this bill for a company with an inept billing system, nor will I ever set foot in there again. read more

I was turned away from service because medstar would not accept my copy of my insurance card. Furthermore, the receptionist was rude and did not even try to talk to me about alternatives or other options. Finally I called my insurance (aetna) and confirmed that I was in network. so there was really no explanation for why I was declined. read more

My 12 year old son cut his finger on a sharp object and we went straight to this Prompt Care thinking he needed stitches. We arrived at 7:50pm. The door was locked. We could see people inside. We started to knock with no response. Another mom and young child showed up and started knocking too. A woman came to the door and opened it and let the other mom in saying she had just been there a few minutes before. She then told me they were closed. I reminded her they close at 8 and it was not 8 yet. She said they had a head trauma case tonight and therefore needed to close early. None of this made sense. But she quickly shut the door and locked and she could see my child was in pain and needed someone to look at his finger. UPDATE: I changed the rating to a 2 because someone from medstar called this morning to apologize and said the employee would be talked to about this situation. read more

Went here yesterday with my sister all I say is great service! The Front desk person was very pleasant and nice! Offered you water, and was nice even when we walked out. There was a sick baby in there, they made sure they hurried and took the baby to the back. There was only one doctor working, but they made sure that they made everybody comfortable while waiting. I'm a nurse myself so I know how Urgent Cares work and I favor them much more than going to an ER and waiting forever. PromptCare was great! The staff was friendly and very fast. They are professional, answer questions and make patients feel cared for. I would recommend PromptCare for sure. They take man different insurance, they let you check in online before you arrive and if you need a prescription, that can take care of faxing it right to your pharmacy. So, if you can't get into see your primary care provider or it's a weekend and you are sick or have a minor injury, go to PromptCare! read more

I have been to this location multiple times for asthma and allergy related issues and I have always been given excellent service and care from all staff members. The front desk staff is welcoming and courteous, the nurses/medical assistants are thorough when taking vitals and all the Dr's have great bedside manners. The facility is very clean and usually not crowded or busy which makes it an even easier choice to continue to utilize this location when I'm in need. read more

Went to this facility bc we have had good experience with MedStar in general. Do not bother if you are trying to get a Rapid Covid test. While lab results only take 20 minutes, it takes HOURS to get in with a provider. They don't tell you how long it is going to take, the front desk person was rude when I asked after 2 hours of waiting ("I don't know" was the response). I suspect there is only 1 provider scheduled and between online scheduling and walk in's for Covid, they can't handle it. We had to leave and when I asked what happens to the test results, the answer is, "they delete them from the system". Well that seems unethical. read more

I would suggest going to any other urgent care facility than this one. Dr. Edmonds asked me how I got hurt and when I tried to tell her she cut me off and was not listening. I informed her I was new in town and did not have a primary care Dr. She gave me two referrals to Orthopedics but when I called they said this dr. does not handle back or ankle injuries & he asked who sent me there when I said PromptCare he said oh the one on York right? They always get it wrong. I then called back to ask the Dr. some questions and the receptionist said they don't do any follow up and I would need to contact my primary care dr. I told her that Dr. Edmonds knows I do not have a primary & I asked if I could please speak with her or any other Dr. onsite today - she said no. DON'T GO HERE! Do not go to Medstar. Horrible service. I got a flu shot there and paidthe bill at time of service. I got a bill saying I didn't pay. I called they said it would be taken care of. I was then sent to a collection agency. After calling medstar with my card statement and waiting over 30 mins to talk a person the problem is still unresolved. I would never go to this place again. I had a great experience. The nursing assistant in particular was very professional, helpful and reassuring. The physician took his time explained everything clearly. The wait time was not bad at all, the receptionist was excellent. They had non-offnesive TV programming on. While I was at work today, I got the dreaded phone call from my child's school. He had a fever and was complaining of a sore throat. I tried to get in at the pediatrician, but that didn't pan out. So I took him to this Medstar location. It is clean, well kept and comfortable. The front desk check in person was so sweet and warm to my 3 year old son. We waited for around 25 minutes before we were brought back to vitals. Linda, the nurse taking them, again was amazing with him. She brought him a warm blanket, and explained what she was doing. We went into the exam room soon after, and it was great. Clean and has a tv (with a remote!). Perfect for my child while we waited for the NP. We again only waited 15 minutes, and were seen by the NP. I have been to only a few of urgent cares, but between the staff here and the facility itself, I will always return to this one. read more

I walked to the clinic in a lot of pain on my right foot. I have missed the step and fell about a week ago and walking around in pain. They took an excellent care of me . Whenever I go to Med Star Prompt Care I feel I'm in a very friendly environment. Everyone is very hospital, professional, and really seems concerned. From the time you walk in to getting vitals taken, until seeing the Doctor; ( today Dr. Leffer). The pharmacy didn't have my prescription ready but when I called I was told in was being called in right away. I don't mind waiting when I go because that is part of life. If there are others ahead of me, of course there will be a wait. What I really like is that when I can't see my own doctor I know I can be seen and have my needs met. I saw Dr. Kenneth R. Veenema. I do not think his diagnosis was correct. I came in with a wet cough, clogged ears, runny nose and raspy breathing. He said I had the beginnings of a sinus infection. He made his diagnosis by looking in my ears (lots of fluid but no infection) and listening to my lungs through four shirts. He did not look in my nose and did not feel the glands on my neck. He prescribed me Augmentin which has failed to clear up my ears or help my chest. Also, the office neglected to weigh me. They prescribed my dosage based on my self-reported height and weight. Had an X-ray which was read by the radiologist, a shot, and had a boot and crutches fitted within an hour to an hour and a half. So efficient and the staff was so friendly! This place is terrible. Nothing prompt about it. I'm surprised the employees don't just have head phones on or all have a party in the back because none of them care about working. I rated this visit as a one. Had to call 4 times to get a prescription filled at the pharmacy. The first time I called I was transferred to the nurse station and the phone just wrung. Called back 3 more times before I got results taken care of that should have been taken care of before I exited my visit. I don't feel any better than when I came in there. Feels like I paid $45 for the doctor to say you need to make a appointment with your doctor. I came there for medical attention because my doctor was not available at the time I needed to see her and was told that I needed to be seen prompt care was recommended but I will make sure I'd don't have to visit there again I will wait the next time for a appointment with my doctor that will have time to listen. read more

Avoid this place at all costs. I made the mistake of first coming here when I had the flu. I was seen by Dr. Sharma. Dr. Sharma repeatedly cut me off while I was explaining my symptoms and when we were discussing where my prescriptions should be sent. As a result, he made a mistake that meant I had to wait over a day to receive my medications. However, waiting seems to be the name of the game at MedStar "Prompt"care... I returned to this facility about six months later with my father when he had bronchitis. In my naiveté, I thought my initial bad experience was a one off and that this time would be better. To my disappointment, when we arrived I saw that Dr. Sharma was again the doctor on duty. After spending over an hour in the waiting room, my father was finally seen. Dr. Sharma spoke with my dad and then promised he'd return in 15 minutes. Forty-five minutes later, my parents and I were getting fed up and poked our heads out of the room to see if we could speak to a healthcare provider. Dr. Sharma was sitting at a desk nearby and pretended not to notice us. When we later went over to talk to him, he failed to take responsibility for the delay or lack of communication. He said that the reason for the delay was that there were patients ahead of us waiting to get x-rays. My father was the last patient in the facility and if anyone had had an x-ray, they were long gone. Also, as there were no other patients, the staff did not seem particularly overwhelmed. It was only after we complained a great deal that my father was able to get his x-ray and we were able to leave. Unfortunately, my previous visit to this "urgent care" facility had also dragged on unnecessarily. This kind of negligence is bad enough when one is feeling healthy but made so much worse when feeling sick. Bottom line: if you're the kind of person who likes being treated professionally and in a timely manner, go somewhere else. read more
