I was grateful they gave me alternatives to the red meat courses. Our favorites were the sashimi, Wagyu, and dessert. Everything was delicious, and we left full. Definitely make a reservation. girl what a waste of time this restaurant... children should be seen and not heard. being seated by a family with children running and screaming was so frustrating. how were they allowed in? to add insult to injury for "fine dining" our server was not knowledgeable of the menu and was very clumsy spilling things. the food was NOT worth a michelin star either. We had a wonderful meal here. We ordered ala carte and we loved every dish! Especially enjoyed the duck and the kimche fried rice. The dim sum sampler was fantastic as was the shrimp with walnuts. Nice décor, attentive staff, an interesting menu, low noise level with loungy music. Had the best seaweed salad, artfully presented, with no high fructose corn syrup, and as a main I had the vegetable rice, which is finished at your table as the server pours and mixes in a sauce. A cassoulet keeps the dish warm as you enjoy it. It had the perfect spice level but a bit salty and oily for me (fine for most people). Some tofu would have been nice. They have an extensive wine, sake and cocktail list. I had the zero gin and tonic and it was delicious, with a rosemary spring and peppercorns and the volume was generous. Beware the dishes are rather small and the place is pricey. I do recommend it for special occasions or if you want to splurge. Reserving through the web may be challenging, but if you stop by reception they will try to accommodate you. read more

We celebrated my birthday dinner at Mee and we were blown away by the service and tasting menu! The staff were so attentive and helpful. Marco was so pleasant and wonderful! We ahead a taste of everything and the chefs did an amazing job with the presentation. My favorite was the wagyu, scallops w truffle, and all of my desserts! Check out my photos. Awesome experience with attentive staff. If it hadn't been for a loud, obnoxious Englishman, it would've been a perfect meal.

We really wanted to love it but something was just missing. While the presentation was very good, flavors were just a little to bland and uninteresting. For example they had a dish with A5 Kobe beef which they used a hot coal to sear at the table. Should have been amazing but was flat and didn't stand out. We stayed at the Belmond for the week and decided to eat at Mee for our first night in Rio. It was such an incredible disappointment. Sushi was just ok and the wagu beef had teriyaki sauce that tasted grocery store bought. Our waiter was kind but honestly service was meh. We ate at Lasai and Oro, which have one and two michelin stars and FAR surpassed Mee - we couldn't believe they were in the same category. Save your money and dine elsewhere! read more

Wagyu beef was awesome, duck was pretty good a tad dry, The dim sum wasn't that great. The drinks were excellent. Service was kinda meh. They need English-speaking waiters (at least one, if you're gonna be at the Copacabana hotel!). Also all the sushi courses were excellent. Delicious meal until it got to the sea bass. I am used to a nice firm fish and it was entirely mushy and the "crispy" skin was as well. The shrimp were chewy which also surprised me. Most of the time the service was great but I kept having to pour my own water and my own cocktail which caught me off guard. read more

If you want to visit a Michelin star restaurant for dinner being in Rio - that might be one of the place. Only if you like Pan-Asian cuisine. Situated in the best hotel of Rio - Belmond Copacabana Palace. Nice ambience reflecting a Japanese place. Dimmed light, pretty cozy and can be private - they have tables in separate rooms and divided by white curtains. There is offered a ready tasting menu set. But we decided to choose a la cart. Tuna foie gras tartar to start. I'd say that the combination of tuna with foie gras, red caviar and wasabi and all this in a special Japanese sauce - that's a real waste of all the mentioned products, because it's completely doesn't go and taste together. You can enjoy separately the tuna, foie gras and caviar - but all these combined and with wasabi and their sauce - just killed the whole flavor. That's the same if you mix together shrimps with truffles in a honey sauce with milk and mint sorbet. Not good. But separately all tastes fine. We took Dim Sums of Cantonese steamed pork and Japanese pork gyoza. In each portion were tiny microscopic three dumplings. They also have with shrimps, lobster etc. For the main we took Wagyu beef ribs and classic crispy duck confit with pancakes. The dishes were really tiny. And Wagyu ribs tasted like a simple broiled meet, nothing special and not that rich as we expected it to be. Duck confit was not bad. It was more of duckling than of a duck. Eggplants were chosen as a side dish. Very oily and fatty. They used too much oil cooking them. They have simple things like sushi, sashimi and other Japanese delights. But ordering them you won't have the full possibility to evaluate and taste the whole cuisine and Chef's mastery. The wine list presents wines from all over the world and except for South America, of course, also very well is represented the Old World, there are wines from Australia, South Africa, New Zealand and USA. A good selection to accompany pan-Asian cuisine: a few Rieslings, Gewürztraminer, Condrieu. Quite impressive, on a whole page, the choice of sake. A good selection of dessert wines by the glass. We took a bottle of a very decent Brazilian Tannat Rastros do Pampa and were pleasantly surprised by its quality. I didn't feel like eating Tofu Cheesecake for dessert, and since they didn't have anything regular - we skipped that part at all. The service was really slow and not as perfect as it's supposed to be in such kind of place. I ordered lemonade - they didn't have any. And just squeezed me lime juice in a glass. Impossible to drink. Had to dilute it with a lot of water and sugar myself. And also, our bottle of water after they opened it and poured us two glasses they put it in a mutual stand- they poured from it to somebody else sitting at the next table and when I asked for more water the answer was - "it's all gone"... Not acceptable in a Michelin star establishment. read more

We were here three nights ago. We ordered gyoza, pad Thai, and udon noodles. The food was excellent! The presentation of the dishes was very pretty, I should have taken pictures. As for the service, they were very attentive throughout the meal. At one point my husband drop his napkin and within two seconds flat a new napkin was handed to him. We will definitely be going back before we leave Rio. read more
