Initially I was happy to have someone come and reviewed positively. Opening boxes it was clear they Packed belongs poorly, nothing wrapped. Lots of broken china. Moving day the arrive on time, Wouldn't listen to the home owner and abruptly left. One guy accused me of racism and boss believe him. I guess it was cheaper to lose business I reviewed appropriately Owner used this app to insult me personally and further accuse me of racism I then checked with the state. He has no interstate license and his insurance is pending dismissal. All one has to do is look up the name on the DOT and NCUC web sites. Bad business beware !! read more

Worst moving experience ever. I made a reservation more than a month in advance. At 5pm the day before our move I called to confirm they would be at our house at 8am the next morning and was told they won't be able to make it. Less than 24 hours before our move! Not sure when they were planning on telling us. Totally shocked and disappointed. I booked this company to help me move in July and THEY NEVER SHOWED UP...leaving me by myself with my senior aged parents to move the contents of a 16ft truck to a second floor apartment in 90 degree heat. I booked 2 men for 2 hours (12pm-2pm) to help me move on Wed. July 26. I called the day before to confirm they would be there and there were no issues, I was assured I was good to go. On the move day I called the office around 12:15pm to make sure they had my cell phone number in case they were lost or running late because no one had arrived yet. The receptionist told me that she would pass along my number to the movers. At 12:30 there was still no one there and no phone call so I called back to the office. At this point no one answered my phone call. I called back about 10 times between 12:30 and 2:30 leaving multiple messages as no one answered or returned my call. I even tried calling from a different phone number. No one ever showed up and there was no call ever explaining what happened or letting me know no one would be coming. When I called back the next week the receptionist who answered the phone was very dismissive of my concerns and said she would pass my information along to the owner who would be in contact. Again.....never heard anything. This whole experience still leaves me frustrated just thinking about it and I will make sure that no one who I am familiar with, ever uses this company in the future. read more

Even though they were pretty late getting to my house due to a previous job, they more than made up for it with their speed and professionalism. They even gave me a discount on price for the inconvenience. Had my entire 3 bed/2 bath house moved within half an hour on each end and even helped us disassemble and reassemble some of the furniture. This is so disappointing to write this review, I've used this moving company multiple times and I was actually going to use them again; although I've moved out of state, I wanted to use Meek Movers over a local company because I really trusted Dwight and his team and thought they had excellent service as demonstrated in my last several times working with him. I had set up something but have been totally ghosted by them and now am scrambling to find another company at the last minute. I have not heard from them in nearly a month and have continued to contact them because I could not fathom that they would just ignore a business call or past client. I figured they were busy and he would follow up as he's always done. I've called several times, emailed and even inquired on Facebook, but received nothing. I actually begin to worry that something happened to the company because this was such a stark contrast to what I've been accustomed to. I was sharing my concerns with a friend and finally they said they would call. To our surprise, not only did they answer but they said they had availability for interstate moves. I was in desperate need of movers. It was very last minute, which was not my choice or intention. I called the day before and they were available the next day! The crew they sent was fantastic! They were very courteous, friendly, and helpful. They always made sure to check with me before packing things. I had some stuff that was staying and some stuff was getting packed. I had them bring the packed stuff to a storage unit and they placed it all on there with no problem! I couldn't argue with the price. $150/hour for 3 men. They even packed a few things in boxes when I ran it my own boxes. The fee for that wasn't much. They finished a 3 bedroom apartment in 3 hours. I would highly recommend!!! read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!!!! They broke 3 antique pieces. My beautiful down couch has 3 oil stains on the fabric that will not come out. They broke all 4 wheels off of my rolling art desk. They chipped the brick off of the steps in my new home with the cart. They also chipped the wood on the house I sold with the cart. They put boxes marked Garage, into the 2nd floor barn apartment which is 200 yards from the house. They unpacked a custom couch and put it upside down in the yard/dirt ( I live on a farm). Then it started to rain. I had to ask them twice to move it into the house. They were sloppy and careless. They did not care about what they were moving!!! They used the packing supplies that I had in my house, instead of using their own. Those supplies belonged to someone else who had helped me pack. I then had to pay them for the supplies. They neglected to bring 7 boxes from my house. They told me they had brought everything from my attic. But, they brought nothing from my attic. I had to hire another mover to bring the stuff they did not bring. There were some valuable items missing. I contacted the owner 3 times about it, but, he refused to respond to me. I should have gone to an attorney!! I regret not doing that. It was close to the holiday season and I was so upset about the movers that I wanted to wait until after the holidays to seek legal counsel. I was so upset about everything that I just wanted to forget about what happened. I regret that now! In Regards to Dwights response. I did phone Dwight and text him 6 times last year when this occurred. I have a copy of my invoice to prove that I did in fact pay you and that I am not mistaken as to who you are. read more

Seriously amazing service. I have moved 11 times in the last 8 years, and Meek Movers was hands down the best company I have ever worked with. Dwight and Carl were not only professional and personable, but they were extremely efficient. What would have taken me hours to do, they did in 2.5 hours flat. I moved from a two bedroom apartment to a house. My items are not broken or scratched, and were handled with great care. I was genuinely impressed with the work these two did. I had most of my items boxed up and ready to go when they arrived. My crew showed up early (love that), they were so friendly and professional, and they were clearly skilled at what they do! I truly can't say enough positive things about my experience with Meek Movers! This was my first "adult" move since the military usually coordinates moves for me. I relocated from Southern Pines to Fayetteville to be closer to work and decided on Meek Movers after sending out a few messages on Yelp to various moving companies. Dwight responded immediately with an extremely fair quote in price. I was originally only supposed to have them move my furniture but underestimated the labor involved and I only have a small car so they brought boxes and packing material out to pack up the rest of my apartment. Dwight even came by to shake my hand and apologize for the confusion. I sent him a message on Yelp asking for boxes but it is better to call them to let them know these things so it was mostly my fault. Their patience and professionalism the entire time was incredible. Deonte, Talon, and Isiah were the ones that packed and moved my stuff and my neighbors were asking for their contact information since they saw how fast they worked and their positive attitude. Moving can potentially be a nightmare but these gentlemen kept my mind at ease and made it an enjoyable experience. Nothing broke during the move and everything was packed so well. In short, Meek Movers caused $1500 in damages when they loaded our pod in Raleigh in a very careless way. They said because it was not their own truck they had no liability. The owner seemed sympathetic to our problem and on Sept. 19 agreed to compensate us $400 which was 1/2 the cost of the sofa repair. I was pleased with that given they didn't have to do it. I then spent the next two months trying to chase down payment, hearing of every excuse known to man. On Nov. 19 he said the check was sent out. They did a poor job. They just placed pictures frames in a box without wrapping. They threw a bunch of things in a box without wrapping. It seriously looked like a 2 year old did the job. Very unprofessional. Had a lot of damaged goods. They ran out of supplies to pack me up. My TVs just had a piece of cardboard on the screen.... No other protection. This is a long overdue review from an expertly and professionally done move performed in August 2016. As most people know, moving (even over short distances) can be one of the most nerve-wracking and costly events that we experience. My move with Meek Movers was neither of the two. The move not only went perfectly according to the plan that I discussed when scheduling with the office administrator, but it went better (if you could imagine). The 3 young men arrived to my apartment earlier than scheduled. I was a bit nervous because I was moving from a 3rd floor, 3bedroom unit to a 2nd floor unit within the same complex but they were extremely careful with my belongings and they moved me in less time than we expected. Hired these gentleman to do a military move from Ft. Bragg to Ft. Knox. They were efficient, accommodating, professional, and fun. My two boys were running around while they packed and they interacted with them instead of got annoyed that they were in the way. There was a situation with a broken truck and incorrect weight tickets, but Adicia smoothed out the problem and was very helpful. Our stuff arrived a day later than expected and some things were scratched and broken, but that's kind of expected when you have a ton of stuff in a truck. They packed and wrapped everything the best they could and set up the furniture just like we wanted. I would recommend this company to move my friends and family. Dwight and his crew helped us out with two different moves - unloading a truck from a cross-state move, and then the next day loading a truck, driving down with us, and unloading it. They were some of the fastest movers I've ever seen - literally running back from the truck to get the next load of stuff. They had the truck for a two bedroom apartment loaded in 45 minutes and unloaded even quicker! We spent almost as much time driving between locations as they did loading and unloading combined. I used this company to move from Moore County, NC to Aiken, SC last August. I was disappointed because items from furniture to lamps to pictures that they packed and moved were damaged. In fairness to the company, they were polite and showed up on time, but did not bring enough packing materials for the items that they were to pack. I did most of the packing myself, but had requested that they pack artwork, lamps and a couple of antiques including a family mantle clock that was over 100 years old. They did not bring enough packing materials with them and tried to cushion the items with throw pillows and bed pillows. I had discussed with the office staff several times what was to be packed by them and they had done a survey of my home several weeks prior to the move. We paid for the full insurance but it only paid by the pound which meant that some of the very valuable items didn't weigh much so that the reimbursement would have been minimal. I was moving into a new home which has hardwood floors. Some of the pieces of furniture were slid across the floor and damaged the brand new floors. The company felt bad about the damaged items and even sent a beautiful flower arrangement to . They were willing to reimburse me for a portion of the damages based upon the "full coverage" insurance, but the more items I unpacked and arranged in my home, the more damage I found. I never filed a claim because it took more time and effort to get estimates to repair the damage than it was worth. I have gradually had items repaired and replaced as I have the money to do so. Ultimately, I think the problem was that the job was bigger and required more time than they initially thought. I think that they would be more than adequate on smaller, local moves, but I think this move turned out to be larger and more difficult than they originally anticipated. My husband and I had moved numerous times with several of the major moving van lines during his career and never had any damage or broken items. My advice to anyone considering this company for a move is to be very careful especially if you own expensive items. The hassle of having damage and getting receipts for repairs may not be worth any money you save. read more

Meek Movers provided, without a doubt, the most competent, pleasant, easy, and stress-free moving experience ever! The team of three men, under the capable leadership of foreman Carl, just simply did everything right, quietly, calmly, and seemingly effortlessly. Dwight, the owner, inspired confidence right away when we met for the estimate, with his professional and reassuring presence. His bid was very reasonable, half that of another local company from whom I got a bid. I was very pleased too that I was able to lock in a flat rate for the move well in advance. My move had some unusual elements where things could easily have gone awry: specifically, I was moving the contents of an office, with most items going to another office, but some going to my home. In addition, at the "move out" office, these items were spread out over four rooms, each containing a mix of items with different destinations. To further complicate the picture, some rooms contained items belonging to other people, not even part of my move. When the Meek team arrived, right on time, Carl took charge and had me go fairly quickly through each room, designating which items were going where. He organized the truck so that the furniture and boxes were separated according to destination, then checked with me after loading the portion destined for home. Somewhere near the end of their loading, I realized that I had failed to designate as such one piece that was destined for home. Carl was totally cool and patient with my error. In fact, he never missed a beat, even when I changed my mind about a table they had already moved to the second floor new office and asked if they could instead take it to my home. All three of the men were unfailingly courteous, respectful, and consummately professional throughout the move. It's strange to think of movers being unobtrusive, but the Meek team somehow managed to earn even that remarkable descriptor! There was a good deal of expensive wood trim in the "move out" office, with heavy and bulky solid maple furniture to be maneuvered through hallways and narrow doorways. I was extremely impressed with the care that the men took to avoid any contact between my furniture and all that wood trim. They also moved boxes full of breakable knickknacks with no resulting damage whatsoever. I had a friend with me throughout the move, and she spontaneously remarked to me that the movers were really top-notch, the best she had seen in the course of many moves herself. We both agreed that we would, without a moment's hesitation, pass Meek's name on to anyone we encounter in need of local or cross-country moves.
