I come to Aiken 2 to 3 times a year. I recently discovered this place because my dad used to get his haircut here before he passed away. I will purposely wait to get a haircut for when I'm in Aiken. Betty does not need to cut children's hair. She is incredibly unprofessional in the way she speaks to kids. Why did my son's haircut involve Betty saying that he's "the forgotten middle child who gets nothing new and only has hand me downs" ? Why did she feel the need to bring my 8year old to tears? If I could leave a 0, I would. My brother went in for a haircut today and unfortunately got placed in Betty's chair. My brother goes in quite often for a trim of about 1/2 an inch every month and has always been satisfied. Today, however, when he came in and explained to Betty what he wanted, she insisted that she knew what was best for him and decided to make him look more grown up because "real men don't have long hair". Though the service was not what he wanted, he still remains respectful throughout his time there by using the appropriate "yes ma'am" and "no ma'am" (as we were raised to do). Betty, however, informed him that she was from the north and she didn't want him speaking that way. He walked away from Betty's chair with a sour taste in his mouth and a bad hair cut thanks to Betty. Please consider this when choosing your stylist at this establishment. read more

I came here cause I felt like I needed a change. I asked for a trim used to only a slight bit of hair being taken off and my hair dresser asking how much I wanted off. i had Amber, she never asked how much I wanted off and just started to cut. I felt like a bunch was being taken off but said nothing cause it was too late and I thought I was just crazy. when she finished she looked at it then trimmed some more. In the end I had nearly three inches taken off without my approval. For reference my hair was down to my waist and it's taken me years to get it this long so when I got done went out to the parking lot to cry. My hair doesn't grow as fast so I was so proud to have it so long and now I'm angry that it was taken away because I was not asked how much I wanted off. Also the hair dresser next to Amber smelt like she's just smoked a blunt. I will never come here again and you shouldn't either. read more

My nephew got his hair cut today 3/2/25 and Betty butchered his hair. Not only did she cut it way too short but she failed to cut it his desired length. Betty insisted on cutting his hair like she wanted, she has the only hair cutting chair that defies nature. She told him it would grow in a week, from cutting 1/2" which requested, she cut about 4 inches off. Please save yourself the disappointment when you want a new haircut. read more

Told person what I wanted in a haircut. She kept asking if I wanted layers or other types of cuts. If I knew how to cut my hair to get what I wanted I wouldn't have needed her. Obviously not a skilled person although she said she had 22 years experience cutting hair. At least I got some damaged ends trimmed off. Will NEVER GO BACK. Will not recommend to anyone. I'm not sure if all the negative comments, but I had an amazing haircut with Taylor. Never used Mega Cuts before and thought I would try them. I was a walk in, one other person in there. She razor cut my hair which a lot of stylists won't even attempt. She listened to what I wanted, took her time and did a great job. She made sure I was happy with my cut. I will be back!! read more

There was one woman, I think her name was Trisha? She was fantastic, which I need to mention her because she did a great job on my daughter's hair. Mine on the other hand was done by someone different. I asked for a long bob, layered. First of all, she never used the squirt bottle. Second, I commented on my left side being longer than my right and was told this was okay because of the way my hair laid on the right. Third, she never even parted my hair so it was all cut at once, in chunks. I never saw the back while I was there, only the front. When I got home I looked in the mirror and my hair is all the same length and no layers. Now I have to go tomorrow to a different place and have my hair cut correctly. I realized after having my hair cut I was her last cut because she had worked over and was in a hurry to get out of there. I'll never go back. read more

They were able to get me in their chair within minutes of arriving, I had fantastic service by the lovely ladies that work there, and I walked away with a haircut that I love. I went here to get my ends trimmed. I told the woman at the desk when I walked in that I hesitate coming to these places because I always feel like the people who work there are super new and don't have much experience. I told her I'd rather have someone with more experience because I have layers and thick hair in the middle and I want something done with that. I asked her if there was someone who was experienced and she said yes. I was the only one there when I came in and there were 3 stylists available, two had experience and one graduated 2 months ago. They told me this girl did simple cuts and did a lot of shampoos, but they would take care of me. She washes my hair and then walked me to the chair and proceeded to section off my hair. I asked her when she graduated and she told me 2 months ago. I didn't want her to do my hair, but since I was just getting the ends trimmed I thought she must be able to handle that. When she was done I thought she did ok. But I was wrong. Boy was I wrong. My hair is longer and when it dried and I looked at it at home, man was I upset. The sides were uneven and the back was chopped in funky layers that were not blended. I called the place and they said for me to come back. I live in the country about 50 minutes from there, so coming back isn't like just going up the road. I stopped by the next day but I was there around 1030 and they didn't open until noon. I called them and told them I don't want them cutting my hair again but I do want my money back. I was informed they don't give refunds if you don't let them try to fix it. Why would I let them cut my hair again when it was butchered the first time??? So frustrated. I'm waiting for a call from the owner so we will see. I caution anyone from going here even for something as simple as trimmed ends. read more

It's bad. Very bad. I took my son and the woman practically shaved his head. I knew it was a mistake to go there. When you walk in and there isn't any customers, you should walk right back out. Another lady came over and tried to fix what had been done but there wasn't much left to work with. On the bright side there was no charge for the awful hair cut. read more

I honestly don't understand how this place is up and running with business. I'm new to Aiken and made an appointment with Jenna for a balayage and was ready to go. When i came in i was told that the whole process would work better if i paid for olaplex, which makes sense. Except, after i was washed and blow dried and all was said and done, i could tell i had made a huge mistake. My hair was uneven and yellow in some spots and as the stylist was blow drying my hair, i could hear the ends ripping off into the brush. It is now two weeks later and i am still being given the run around and being told i need to talk to so and so over and over. I was told i would most likely need to schedule another olaplex treatment or something for them to try to fix their mistake before i could get a refund. I do not recommend this place to anyone who wants to get their hair colored and have it healthy and not falling off daily. Still trying to communicate with someone for a refund to this day. read more

I just got my hair cut for the first time here and I will NEVER come back again. I don't know who cut my hair because the woman didn't even care enough to introduce herself. When she asked what I wanted I showed her how much I wanted off and that I wanted a little bit of layering at the very bottom and held my hand up to show a measure of about an inch of layers that I wanted at the bottom. She said okay and got to chopping. And chopping, and chopping, and chopping. I wanted fewer layers than I had when I came and I left with way more! Needless to say, I'm heated and she did not get a tip from me. Now I'll have to go somewhere else and go shorter to have her mistakes fixed. Mystery woman needs a lesson in listening apparently.
