I don't know about you, but when I go to a gas station, I expect to get pickled mushrooms, Eastern European delicacies, and Russian beer. What... Is it just me? If you never went in, you'd never think it was anything more than a gas station. Beer at gas stations isn't anything new. But, beer that you could only get at a specialty market? That's pretty cool. Conversely, if you weren't paying attention and you missed the gas pumps, it looks like a specialty market, with a wide selection of things you could never think of buying. Pickled mushrooms? Interesting. Five different kinds of pickled mushrooms? Wow. It IS a specialty market, with a wide selection of things you could never think of buying. Why are there gourmet cookies with a label I can't read? I don't know, but they look delicious. Why is there kratom at the gas station? No idea, but it's pretty cool. Oh...and the gas prices are reasonable, and there is plenty of distancing going on here. I wish I lived here. No, not at the gas station/specialty shop, although that is an idea. read more

This may seem like a super random and weird place to review, but it needs doing. We were driving by this gas station and saw "gyros" on the sign. What? What the heck is a gas station doing selling gyros? Obviously we needed to try it, or at the very least look at it. Upon entering the store and looking to the left, there's an entire section for Russian food. We were befuddled, as there's no signage advertising eastern European groceries outside at all. What's more, the entire wall is eastern European food. Seems like an oversight not to advertise, so I felt I had to post. There's freezers full of pierogies, ice creams, cakes, sausages, caviar, and more. There's entire food stands full of Russian chocolates, tea cookies, and desserts. On top of that, they have made to order gyros and Philly cheese steaks. Got the gyro with fries for $6.49 and was astounded by how good it was. The pita was nice and soft, and the meat was plentiful and seasoned well. The veggies and sauce weren't my favorite, but I can overlook those. Turns out the owner of this place also owns the gyro shop in The Food Court on 42nd St, and they know what they are doing. I'll be coming back, but may bring my own homemade sauce. You definitely need to check this place out. Plus, think how hilarious it will be to tell someone you are taking them out to gyros, only to pull up to a gas station. read more

I was drawn in by the low gas prices and I was surprised to see that this place not only sold phones (yes a gas station that sells phones) but Eastern European foods as well. First, let's tackle the phones. You would expect a gas station to sell the stereotypical burner phones you see on TV but I was decently surprised to see refurbished iPhone 12s sitting there behind the glass. Second, why don't they advertise their wide selection of Eastern European foods? I feel like they would get a lot more traffic if they did so but hey, that's just my opinion. I tried some of their Kefir, sausage, and ice cream and I was impressed. It was all good quality stuff, especially their Kefir which has since ingrained itself into my daily diet. (High in protein). I would definitely recommend giving this place a try. read more

My kids call this the "Russian MegaSaver" and it's basically true: segregated from the typical gas station/convenience store fare is an ample selection of Eastern European foods, drinks, alcohol and more. I would love to learn the history of this place and why Kratom is advertised outside but you have to go inside to find Czech Beer and the Tsar's Royal tea. read more

Went here for lunch last week after seeing their signage showing that they have gyros and claim to be a European deli. Sure enough half of their stocked goods are from Europe, primarily Russia. This includes chocolates, cookies, frozen goods, caviar, ice creams, and drinks, among other things. As for their Gyros, i got the combo which includes a side of fries. If by some far off chance you have been to the Food Court on the corner of 42nd and Grover, then you will be familiar with Mega Saver's Gyro's and fries. The only difference is the fries did not have the seasoning that the Food Court does. So, how were these gas station Gyros? Pretty good. Meat had a good flavor and was not dry and the pita bread they used was the fluffy sort. Fries were also good; thicker than shoe string, but had a good crisp to them. Forgot to mention, I grabbed a drink, which was $0.75 for a 32 oz. The combo was $7-something after tax. All in all a unique experience, particularly for a NW Omaha gas station. I would recommend just for that experience, but the hot food is also pretty good too. read more
