With just the name alone I was intrigued to walk inside! They are located in the Oakland Park Retail Center strip mall on the very far left corner. There is a private parking lot for the strip which is easy to find a spot. The boutique inside is very clean and organized making for an easy shopping experience. You will find lingerie, night club attire, shoes, jewelry, box sets, bras & panties, and more! During the Halloween season they also have a really great assortment of Halloween Costumes from do it yourself/mix and match to a full blown already put together outfit. The staff is incredibly nice and helpful! They helped me with ideas and showed me all the possibilities they offer in their store. This really makes such a big difference when shopping somewhere. Opened in 1945, Melinas is the oldest family owned and continuously operated business on Hollywood Blvd. The store is named for the current owner Elsie Johns "Miss J"'s stepmother Melina Tomich. The store started out selling children's underwear and clothes and evolved into selling lingerie. 98 year old Miss J still runs the family business. When they first started selling undergarments all women wore girdles, hosiery, and bras. As girdles fell out of fashion they began to sell the more revealing lingerie that is popular today. With its jewel colored walls the store maintains a vintage feel. A historic plaque on the outside of the building notes its historical significance.

She still was going into work everyday in the building that her father built. Melina's was named after her father's second wife. In this location since 1946, this is quite an accomplishment.
