A business should have a backup option for situations like this, especially when the customer has proper identification. Rejecting a valid passport because of a system limitation is poor customer service. To make it worse, the person behind the counter even had the audacity to tell me to check the store across the street instead. How bold -- and how unprofessional. You just lost a loyal customer.
