Moved to Midland not too long ago and are continuing shopping at Meijer. I used to shop at Meijer on Tittabawassee Road and one of the things that really caught my eye is that the Tittabawassee Road store has several resting benches within the store display area, where Midland only has one located outside the cashier area. Today while shopping, my knee "went out" and I was urgently looking for somewhere to sit and rest. To no avail, I had to stop shopping and had to leave to come home. I would recommend placing a bench or two in the middle of the store, like some other Meijer's stores. read more

Love this Meijer! Always clean! The Deli crew is by far the best! Really it's their charm! Always happy to help and if you engage with them they remember you and your order! I wish they had more kitty stuff and there is no Michigan gear for women so missing out in sales from me as I travel a lot and need gifts and these two are necessities!! But other than that Meijer in Midland is awesome from the customer service desk, slippers, meds, to the scratch off counter girls are hilarious!!!! You name it. Dont expect customer service in a pinch... I bought 2 cans of ByHeart formula for my baby, he had a very bad reaction to the first can, so obviously I threw that one away, but attempted to return the unopened can to meijer, apparently they'll take your money until 12 but only serve you until 8, so in a pinch when my son needed different formula after spending 42 dollars on this can, I had to throw it away here at the store and go buy a different brand, the managers response was " you came too late for that, desk closes at 8"....i came too late for what? The customer service at this location is fantastic. I had to return quite a few articles of clothing I purchased for my daughter. The tag fell off of one item. First , I had no waiting at the Service Desk. Then Chrissy waited on me in a very happy and efficient manner. Instead of returns being a hassle with a crabby employee this whole experience was great. My interaction with her actually made my day better. The store overall is clean and bright. They have a good assortment and the shelves are kept filled. This is the best Meijer I have been in. read more

I think Meijer should build another store in Midland county. You are either in business or not. Most people like myself get very frustrated when the store always runs out of food. Also the store is not layed out very well, people are always saying " I can never find anything in the store. How about a sign hanging above the isles telling where to find items. Too big. Layout is unappealing. Difficult to find items that you do not usually get. Impossible to find people to help on the floor. Shopping at Meifer's is an unpleasant experience. A few positives: fresh produce is pretty good, so is Ace bread. Nice selection of wines. If you want good cheese, forget Meijer. Go to the Eastman Party Store. read more

Probably the worst Meijer I've experienced. I've been in the area about 6 months now and I shop Meijer because I have issues with the business practices of Walmart and Kroger. On several occasions now I've had bad experiences with staff. At one point an employee closed their check out lane after I had waited in line for about 10 minutes; they still had their light on right up until I had my cart unloaded on the belt, then they left. Today I was at a self checkout that wouldn't let me continue. After several minutes of patiently waiting I got the attention of one of the two attendants 10 feet away chatting, one came, looked at the screen, said something about needing to weigh my veggies elsewhere, then left me with a locked kiosk. There were others but I'm not going to type a novel. I'll definitely be looking for somewhere else even if I have to drive further. read more

No mask enforcement. Last several times I've been there multiple people not wearing masks and watched the employee at the door, standing next to the mask required sign, say nothing except hello to people coming in maskless. Only came in today to burn up the gift card I got from work, and the 20-30 minutes I was there I walked by half a dozen maskless, including 1 employee. Way to help the community. read more

Been I long time customer with no complaints until today. Went shopping over the weekend and spent $250 on groceries to feed the family. And if its not bad enough that groceries are expensive now, they charged me 3 times. As soon as I noticed I called and was on hold for what seemed forever, when I finally spoke with someone they were rude and said it was my responsibility to solve this with my bank. Make sure you wear your tennis shoes at this place. Grocery shopping they seem to have a good selection but the prices are not discount at all. In fact many of the common items are jacked up 30%. Decent meat dept. but the guys there are clueless. The last time we bought a leg of lamb, got it home and it was rancid. The local Kroger has cheaper prices, and Walmart cheaper yet for the same thing. The thing that bothers me the most is while grocery shopping and you need a tube of toothpaste, you have to traverse the entire store to the opposite end to get it and this store makes Walmart look small. On a busy day, plan on parking 100+ yards away, and checkout can be an ordeal. read more

This place is awful. The employee are very rude to their costumer and so are their managers... I dont understand how some of them people have jobs there. I will never go in that store in midland mi again.. I would rather give my money to kroger's or Walmart before I spend a dime in that store. The old Meijers had a lot going in its time. I remember back when it had the grill and eating area, they made some of the best dang cheeseburgers anywhere at that time. Then things went a bit down hill for a bit, they lost the grill, there was an older man that used to work there and he would purposely run into my mothers wheelchair causing her great pain and discomfort. Some people were rude and the pharmacy area was dim lit and the bathrooms always smelled. It started to change the year we left Midland, in 2014 when they started the new doors. I think the new changes are great, i just think they need to bring back more housewears less clothing junk. Also their vegetarian section rocks. read more

The store is newly redone and clean, but I'm constantly disappointed in the inventory. I usually shop after work in the evening, and, by that time of day, many sale items are no longer on the shelf, and some things take "forever" to be restocked. (Ex: they have been out of canned cream of coconut for weeks). The bakery and deli are good, but last night I waited 10 MINUTES to be waited on while the bakery worker loudly complained to someone that it's "ridiculous" that she gets more work done in 4 hours than her coworker does in 8 hours... All the while ignoring me standing at the counter. Finally, when a third employee came over to join their conversation, I took a step toward them and stared (I needed a birthday cake-or I would have left) and she finally asked what I needed. The final straw: my breads and "ready to eat" stuff was put in bags with raw meats. Yuck. On the plus side: the clerk at the service desk who sold me stamps was very nice/pleasant. And a worker in the parking lot was super- she came right to my car to get my cart- smiling and wishing me a great evening! read more

I am so over this place their stores always dirty they are always stock in the shells at the worst opportunity their greeters just stand there they don't say anything to you or just talking to one another and now finally they won't let you use more than 2 Identical coupons at 1 time so the packages the I was I was purchasing had coupons on them and if I wanted to buy them I had to pay more money they would not let me use the coupons that came with it I will never grocery shop there again this is just ridiculous I made by other things but nope not grocery shopping they're allowed to do buy 4 get 1 free and you could use as many as you want but manufacture coupons come on re diculous manufactures put coupons on their packages so people will want to buy more and now the grocery store who want you to buy more of their food won't let you use the tool the manufacturer gives you to entice you how stupid is that I don't even use coupons unless it's on the package what a wast read more

Man, what's not to like about Meijer? Low prices, huge selection, shelves that are always full. I got quite a few quality items on clearance so keep an eye on the end caps. The day after Christmas is a steal as well, I got a box of 100 string lights for $1.99 among other seasonal items. Their local beer and cider selection is also really good so you might not have to drive out to Cork & Ale after all. As much as I love Target, check here first because chances are the price will be lower at Meijer. The only gripe I have is that the fish counter smells from 10 feet away so I wouldn't buy any seafood. read more

Meijer is pretty great and while this one is nice and clean and possibly new or recently renovated, the merchandising is really bizarre. I've been to a few Meijer stores in other cities, but the layout for merchandise placement varies from odd to terrible even compared to other Meijer stores. I needed a birthday cake. Meijer had large variety of all ready to go cakes that you could have them write Happy Birthday on. I however wanted a edible image done if possible and with in the hour. (forgot someone's birthday) Normally you would have to pre order something like this but the kind woman behind the bakery said she could do it while I finished shopping. My review is specifically for the Meijers in Alma Michigan. It's right next to the Walmart. Not QUITE as large, newer--it SMELLS noticeably better! If you have to go into one right after the other, it's very noticeably nicer smelling and cleaner. Their prices are a bit higher than Walmarts, but the quality is better. Their veg is much better, fresher, and a much larger selection. Especially for greens and root veg. Their clerks in the food section are always nice. Those of registers don't ever seem to know what the different produce is or where to find it in their system. The one complaint I have with Alma Meijers is that I asked a woman giving out samples if she worked there or had seen a clerk that did. I asked her if they had pasta makers and if they did where they'd be. She didn't know and had to page someone. But then she asked me why I wanted a pasta maker, "pasta is cheap", and actually rolled her eyes when I tried to explain about sodium and fresh pasta tasting better. The store is huge... Maybe a little too huge. There is an overabundance of brand options that it makes it difficult to want to shop. The "deals" they have aren't really deals. I could go to Kroger and get better deals on groceries and Walmart or Walgreen's for better deals on toiletries, etc. The new store setup after the remodel is HORRIBLE. The parking lot is all over the place, I can't even begin to talk about how many times I've almost seen an accident. The new grocery setup is also horrible. I don't understand why certain items are placed near other items, when there are better and more understandable places for them in the store. The staff is horrible. Half the time they are ignoring you, the other half the time they are extremely rude. I think I have met 3 or 4 workers in my life who have worked there that were nice. The managers are even worse. I recommend just going to Walmart or Kroger for your needs. read more

I buy gas at Meijers. The last 5 times I have tried to fuel, the card readers will not work. The employees say it's the cold but Speedway and WalMart systems work fine when temperature is -14 or -15F. Employees don't seem to care and there is no apparent attempt to repair the system so it works reliably. I have asked to speak to a manager, who is never there when I am so it will be interesting to see if he calls. I'm going to a different station due to the continued inconvenience. read more

Meijer in Midland is wonderful! I can't tell you how much $ I must spend there in a month. Make sure to sign up for MPerks as this can really save you some money without a lot of effort. Very nice, clean store, clean bathrooms and everything you need to run your household. Amazing selection, fresh meat counter is great with sales. Very happy to make this my shopping store in Midland. Staff is very helpful, polite and friendly as well. It makes shopping a good experience and not a low class ordeal as some of the other grocery stores. read more

I am going to kind of miss this place when I move out of Midland, but there has been some things that will make it so i dont miss it that much. Getting home with pizza crust and one of the crusts being moldy, same with cheese before hand. Telling workers that cheese had gone bad and them just putting the block of cheese back onto the shelf for someone else to get. The amegoes always being out of juice or left outside by people who dont know how to use them, and take them away from the real people that need to use them. Idiots who park in the handy cap spots who are not handy cap at all taking them away from people who needs them, if you are old that does not make you handy cap. How rude some of the people are that work there, that they look at you funny if you ask them questions. The fact that there is only one set of bathrooms in a store that large, there should be two because who wants to run across a store to use the loo. The whole new construction that they are doing seems rather dumb the whole place is going down hill some but they do have some good things sometimes. just wish they were not as stuck up as they had been. read more

My daughter is an employee at the Midland Meijer and a manager wrote her up, but the manager then proceeds to tell everyone. Employees and other managers. I find this disturbing and humiliating and of course down right wrong. My husband, who is a manager himself always has said to me, when it comes to disciplining employees and other employees ask what happen, his comment has been that you never confirm, deny, or discuss that with other employees. read more
