Communication. Dr.Mary said she would call us back with urinalysis results. We called & they said that she would call us back yet that day. Didn't happen. Had to finally go in to get answers. Had an x-ray done & she couldn't tell us what was the bulge was near her stomach? We have taken our dog there for the last 7 years. I don't know what's happened to her & the business! Sad. read more

Very happy with services and care of my fur babies (3) I have 2 sisters who also take their fur babies (2) to be cared for and be treated by Dr Mary. Trish was extremely rude to me on the phone. I've been calling vets in Rapid City looking for info on a pet that was rehomed to me. Her pet parent was a 9 year old girl who passed away and the mother is currently getting help for trying to take her own life. I simply needed shot records for a 10 month old puppy. I have been a dog groomer for 10+ years and have always called vets for vaccinations. This clinic was the second to last place to call for info. In all my years of dog grooming I have never heard "it's illegal to share pet information without notifying the pet parent" I tried to tell Trish my situation to which she replied with a laugh and a "that sucks for you" I was appalled. Totally unprofessional. Told me no other vets in Rapid know how to do their jobs and hung up on me. I called back demanding her boss to which she replied "she's in surgery so you can't" I asked to leave my number and she laughed again and told me no and hung up on me. I have been calling every hour trying to talk to the owner and Trish keeps laughing and hanging up. Even tried chewing me out to which I was the one who hung up. read more

I walked in with my small dog this morning afraid he'd been bitten by something, he had a hard swollen lump that felt hot on his hindquarter & had been trembling non stop for over an hour (he NEVER does that). The receptionist told me quite rudely that they don't take walk-ins, apparently she could assess & diagnose with just a glance. Our vet of many many years retired & we need a new one but it definitely won't be at this clinic. They may be terrific for shots & routine care but clearly don't have empathy for a possible emergency. read more

Dr. Mary and her staff are awesome! When my cat Smudge was suffering from an autoimmune disease Mary researched the best methods to treat him. Unfortunately we lost him. We all held him while he traveled over the rainbow bridge. What a blessing she was at the time we needed her most. read more

We have patronized this clinic since Dr. Meiner worked near the creek. He has since retired and Dr. Mary is great. Sometimes the techs aren't as experienced as others but if you're patient all seems to get done. They have been our go-to vets since 1990. read more

Meiners Animal Clinic is a great place to take pets (I have 2 dogs and 2 ferrets). Mary is one of the very few vets with extensive experience and knowledge of how to properly care for my ferrets. I am about to take a month long RV trip trough Canada, the office took the time to call both the US and Canadian government agencies to find what exactly I need to have done and made sure I had proper paperwork to have ready for me. I just had a full checkup on all 4 pets, cancer treatment for one of my ferrets, at 1/2 the price as my Vet in Vegas would had charged in the past. As well, their new office at 3500 W. Chicago street is very nice. read more

We have taken our dogs (plus a visiting family member's dog) to the Meiners Animal Clinic for many years. Dr. Meiners, then Dr. Mary, and the whole staff have been wonderful with our pets. They have solved some challenging problems regarding the health of our mutts, and even saved the life of my sister's dog after she contracted salmon poisoning in the Pacific Northwest and became very ill on a road trip out here. When the time came to put our two dogs down (two years apart), Dr. Mary, Laura, and Nicole made the trip to our house to ensure our dogs would be as comfortable in their environment as possible. That kind of care means a lot to us. We just adopted a new dog and can't wait to introduce him to the staff at Meiners. We know he will receive excellent care there! read more

please! do not go to this vet. All she cares about is money. She refused to examine my dog because my dog growled at her. She told me she had to sedate my dog before she could examine my dog. then charged me $75 for a visit. She wanted over $300 to sedate my dog so that she could examine my dog, instead of using a dog muzzle. Most vets know what a dog muzzle is and what it is used for. Most vets would give a dog in pain, pain relief medicine, not just stand there looking at the dog and do nothing. This vet just wants your money and will give a bad diagnoses read more
