Pretty good. I would say probably 4 for this area. Pleasantly surprised. We had the green curry with chicken, black bean chicken, pad thai with shrimp, and the fried spring rolls. Flavors for all the dishes were very nice, maybe with the exception of the spring rolls. Those were slightly bland. Something also had small pieces of pineapple (I think it was the black bean chicken), which is unusual. But, I actually liked it. It added a surprise of sweetness. I thought the green curry had really good flavor. The eggplant was a little sparse and a little too al dente, but overall great dish. The pad thai also had great flavor and the noodles were prepared well, still chewy not soft. Overall, very solid place especially if want a break from cheese and you're crazing Asian food as a tourist. read more

Mekong in Bern Switzerland is a Thai - Chinese restaurant. Service here was nice and friendly but they didn't really speak English so the language barrier was a tab rough. But still got it all done and handled. I ordered tom Yam soup. It was pretty mediocre. Tasted just a bit off. I had the Penang curry for my main. Was pretty good. Better than the soup for sure. They brought me a dish of Thai chili's to get it to scorching madness like I like it lol. Over all it's good but nothing special by any means. read more

Make reservations like most places they were packed. We didn't havee reservations but they were able to accommodate us. Food was fast and delicious. We had shrimp rice cakes that were complimentary. Ordered veg spring rolls, chicken noodles and the Pho Ga. Good Pho is very hard to find. I am a tough critic bc my best friend is Vietnamese and I've had home cooked Pho but this was really good. Highly recommend it. Noodles were bit too oily but my kids still loved Great option for the price. read more

The food is ok! But the service sucks! Poor arrangement of table lead to long wait time. They would take away the dishes without notice! And even after you specifically telling them not to take it they still do. It's like they want you to finish quickly! The service doesn't match the price they charge!!! read more

Delicious Thai food. It's spicy even when it claims to be mild though. We had the mixed appetizer plate first then dumplings. We saved the cucumber salad to eat with the the chicken basil dish. Service was excellent and staff spoke enough English needed and menu had English translation. Only one complaint. It's the middle of July. Temp in the high 80's low 90's and it feels as if this place has little to no ac. Which, we had toured and walked all day and it didn't bother either of us. Food is genuine Thailand and China. (I could have ordered spring rolls with dog meat. I passed on that.) it's VERY casual and many locals are here getting take out. read more

After being in Europe for 6 days, the hubby and I are in great need of some rice or noodles. For lunch they have several selections, and when we arrived 10 mins after 1pm, several of the lunch menu items were not available anymore. Food was good, only complain is the service. The lady at the counter was kind of rude, none of the employees spoke english, so for a moment we felt that because of that, they were ignoring our table. We had to literally wave at the waitress after waiting for too long to be attended, and she sent the lady from the counter to take our order as it seamed that she understood some english. Mekong Beizli is an unassuming venue with a simple, warm and cozy décor. It's run by a very polite, hardworking woman with a dedicated, friendly staff. We dined here recently, and had a wonderful experience! Soliciting and receiving some excellent recommendations, we shared the stir fried beef with a spicy sauce, and the duck with a "special" sauce. Both of our entrées were incredibly delicious, as well as beautifully presented :-) Kudos to the Chef at Mekong Beizli, not to mention the manager and her attentive staff - I will definitely return! read more

This is absolutely rubbish! I don't know about the others but I'm Chinese, and this was probably the worst Asian restaurant I've ever been to. Food was expensive, and didn't taste very nice, beef undercooked, they give you prawn crackers without telling you that it costs money. Very expensive- 3 CHF for small portion of rice and 1 CHF for a glass of water. Am giving 1 star because there is no 0 star! read more

As an expat originally from the LA area, I always seem to find myself craving Asian food. Mekong Beizli has some of the best Thai curry I've ever had! We ordered the following: Green curry with duck Yellow curry with chicken Sweet Thai Basil with beef Vegetables with Oyster sauce Everything was fresh, not overly heavy or over seasoned, just enough of a kick to keep things flavorful without killing you, and perfect for a cold winter's night. It'd be hard for me to pick my favorite of the dishes we ordered, but I know if I ever find my way back to Bern I'm coming back ot Mekong Beizli! read more

Really good spot. Some of the best duck I've ever had, and I wasn't expecting it. Also had the Vietnamese beef and it was good but nowhere near that of the duck. Bonus: they have candles under your dishes to keep the food warm. read more

There is only 4 options on the menu but the price was very reasonable, the interior is gorgeous to look at and the service was friendly and quick. The food was good although if you're used to very good Asian food it is pretty basic and doesn't have the some of the signature asian ingredients. read more

Went to this restaurant with my friends today. We didn't make any reservations as we just walked in the other time. The food was good. But the customer service was terrible. 1) The lady at the counter asked if we had made reservations as soon as we entered the restaurant. She didn't even greeted us. The lady then said that we had to wait for 45 minutes because we didn't reserve a table. Luckily, a gentleman (who saw this whole incident) came forward to share his table with us. It was then he told us that he just walked in as well and was not confronted by any of the staffs. 2) The waitress was extremely loud and rude. She got irritated whenever we asked her for anything. In the beginning, she told us that we could pay by debit/credit cards. But towards the end, she was like our system only accepts payment by card if the total bill is above CH 20. This put us in a very difficult situation since couple of us had no cash on us. 3)They only had one menu card with only the lunch menu. It kind of restricted our choices and options. The overall experience was unpleasant. They are not consistent with their customer service. They were friendly when the first time we went there. This time, they were really unfriendly and cold. If it's not for the food, I would have given them one star. read more
