It was not busy at all, but we went on a Wednesday evening at 5 so that might have played a part in that. We got the table in the middle of the small (yet roomy room). I quickly browsed through the menu to see that they mainly had fish and seafood (maybe because it is a fish and seafood restaurant and deli ... *duh*) and I wasn't really in the mood for neither fish .. nor seafood. We began with an appetizer. I went for the Toast Skagen which is always a hit, it was creamy, and good. My husband tried Gubbrora which is a mix of egg, anchovies, and other things (trust me it is good). And then we split it in half. The others who had parmesan fried scallops also enjoyed their appetizer. For the main course I opted for blackangus beef with homemade fries, red wine sauce, and a chili béarnaise. I was a little hesitant because pregnant women shouldn't eat red meat and I love red meat (who likes an overcooked steak?). But the waiter said it wasn't a problem, that meet was so tender anyways and boy was he right. It was a little too fatty for me but still very good. My grandma - who wanted to seafood platter - had a lot of shrimp to bring home. The seafood platter is a huge platter with different seafood. I think theirs had oysters, shrimp (smoked and boiled), and lobster. Her and my aunt were both happy with their choice. My husband went for the halibut with saffron and white win root vegetables and other vegetables with a Mojo rojo dipping sauce. He finished it before everyone so he must have enjoyed it. At first we weren't planning on getting dessert but after looking at the menu I just had to try the salt licorice brule with limochello sorbet. Uhm, Hi heaven. I can honestly say that it was probably the best dessert that I have had in a very long time. I LOVE salt licorice and this was just the right amount for one to go Whoa with every bite, mixed with the sour and sweet limochello sorbet .. heaven in my mouth. My mouth is watering even writing this, that is how good it was. So to sum this up. Appetizer = standard and good. Safe bet. Main dish = Can never go wrong with black angus beef NOR bearnaise sauce ... Dessert = Come to mama!

Best Wild Mushroom Soup EVER! [To Say Nothing About The…read moreSteaks, The Lobsters, The Settings, The Views, Everything...And All The More Special With Terrific Friends.] SITREP There's always something special about a great steakhouse. But it takes it up a notch when it's aboard a cruise ship! THE SETUP While the Royal Caribbean's "Serenade Of The Seas" was berthed in Stockholm Port, I had a chance to take in a couple delicious meals @ Chops Grille, one of the many restaurants on this diverse and eclectic cruise ship. LE MENU! So must to enjoy! * WILD MUSHROOM SOUPS: I have to repeat that this is the Best (Wild) Mushroom Soup I've ever had. Flavorful and rich with mushroom depth; several different varieties of mushroom in the simmered soup, but also added as another level of delicious garnish; https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chops-grille-serenade-of-the-seas-stockholm?select=fxBv23hCmjkZY-8iLCSAjA * AND MORE MUSHROOMS: You have to hand it to an establishment when it caters to patrons' passionate obsession with the 'shroom! These grilled & sauteed mushrooms were perfection (and addicting)! https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chops-grille-serenade-of-the-seas-stockholm?select=Pd8QIQGgS0EK2wNKaSmw8g * THE SEAFOOD FESTIVAL: Best enjoyed among friends, with Maine Lobsters, Tiger Prawns, Artic Mussels and Clams, Maryland Crabs, Baltic Shrimps, Dutch Butter, and California Lemons! A beautiful, deLISH carousel around the world underwater (well, at least for the fishy parts. The seafood is prepared by a top-notch chef staff and the cooking processes preserve the delicate flavors of each item. * FILET MIGNON: My primary entree was cooked to perfection, absolutely delicate and mouth-watering with each bite as it disappeared. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chops-grille-serenade-of-the-seas-stockholm?select=hQivlOoozi6HncXAFXM6qQ * MAC N' CHEESE: "Wait. What?!?", you ask. Even in Europe, menus have become fetishicized with the love of the Mac. I honestly can't tell you if that's a good thing or a bad thing for the gourmet world. But I CAN tell you that this offering was one of the BEST, and so cheesy. https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/chops-grille-serenade-of-the-seas-stockholm?select=TfkEmhhqCvuuqADHSRtMzQ * CREAMED SPINACH: My much needed nod to "healthy greens" - considering everything I had been eating, I know my body would love me better for making this part of my meal. ;) * CHOCOLATE: Speaking of Mushroom addictions, another addiction was satiated a this meal and that was for chocolate, which came in three (3) different varieties: (1) With Vanilla Bean Ice Cream; (2) In a chocolate infused mousse; and (3) With Berries. All created perfect explosions of tonguegasms! THE LOWDOWN If you ever get a chance to dine aboard the "Serenade of the Seas", by all means find yourself a reservation @ Chops Grille!

The space would be worth hanging out in even if the food were mediocre or worse. All daylight that comes into the dining area makes it perfect place for lunch. I'd be curious how much the vibe changes here in the evening. 95 Swedish Crowns (about $14 US) for a 3 course lunch. My carbonara pasta dish was incredible. The flavor was so great it was as if I could taste every ingredient in every bite. The vegetable pasta dish was really good as well. Fresh as a garden! We also saw Swedish pop star, Robyn, sitting down for late lunch solo as we were leaving. She's a regular there according to my brother in law.

I went for the bruschetta for starter and the staff was very helpful in making the dish with gluten free bread and fodmap safe by excluding the red onion. However the bread was not prepped in any way to even make it similar to the "usual" sourdough bread, which made the dish loose a very important dimension in texture. For main I had the seafood pasta "Tagliatelle con con gamberi e zucchini". This was made with gluten free pasta instead and they were able to also make it fodmap safe by removing the garlic from the dish. The pasta was cooked in a good way and even without the garlic which usually is an important ingredient in a seafood dish, the pasta tasted great! The staff was helpful and friendly throughout and they get a big plus for being flexible with the ingredients in their dishes! I would surely recommend this place for people who need GF or fodmap!
