Pretty hard to find if your just walking the streets in Gamla Stan but so worth it if you find it. Excellent drinks and while we were there, they had a beer special that was up my alley- so to speak. We also enjoyed some smoked salmon for an appetizer that was awesome as well. Some colorful lights and a large umbrella with some space heaters help to take the chill out of the late summer nights. And the bartenders were spot on with a drink or beer when needed. Just what we needed after some full days of walking through the historic town that is so full of great things to see. It's not often I want to try something a second time, but this space deserves a return trip.

I enjoyed the infused water available at the front desk. The staff seemed more focused on making sure you were out of the gym area by its closing time than on refilling water in the gym. The cleaning man hung out in the women's room cleaning or whatever, some 20-25 minutes before closing on one evening, which kept my wife from being able to use the women-only sauna. The next night, the hotel had the nerve to send a 'security guard' or some authoritative figure to ensure we were out by closing. For clarity, we weren't aware of the closing hours for the gym the first night, and the cleaner informed us that the gym was closed; we'd just asked the front desk to turn on the sauna, and they'd said nothing about closing when acknowledging that we wanted to turn it on. Of the four nights we stayed, half of those had no water in the gym. There's no phone or way to contact the front desk for more, so more consistency in checking would be nice, at least as much care to kick out patrons trying to get in a post-exploration workout. Also, one day we asked for new towels; they left a stack on the counter, and left all of the dirty towels. They took that quite literally, but the implied task was to pick up the old towels left on the floor. Lastly, just a preference, but I like the double beds better than singles placed next to each other.

The location of the hotel was terrific and super walkable. The bathroom was small but nice. There didn't seem to be a bathroom fan so it got pretty steamed-up with a hot shower, but I think the mirror was heated as it cleared up faster than normal. Our king-sized bed had two twin comforters, which, as an American, was unexpected but it worked out very nicely by avoiding a tug of war for the covers. There were no USB ports, which I would have expected at a hotel of this level, but that's a very minor point.

They checked us in (again) but this time for realsies and they said the no-show charge was the same as the room charge so our 4-night stay became officially a 3-night stay. I'm still not sure if the rate stayed the same but it all seemed more or less fixed at the time... but now Marriott Bonvoy isn't giving me credit for the room night and the points so I'm still dealing with it weeks later which is crazy because we were there. So annoying. But the hotel really was nice. The room was spacious, the lounge was beautiful with an enormous multistory chandelier and the breakfast really was epic. Lots to see via short walks, meals, destinations and transit access in every direction. Nice place.

It's located in a hotel and used a different lift to get to the correct floor. We came in and rather loud disco music was playing. The bar was set up as a lounge which was great as they had a few different areas with booths, couches and chairs, etc. for us to relax in. The bartenders were both pretty easy to talk to and accommodating. Not sure if this is standard, but there was a police officer at the bar as well? They were good about walking around and telling everyone when last call was. They closed at 1:00 AM I think, which in that area of Sweden is pretty late. Most other places closed at 11:00 or 12:00. The view was pretty nice as it was on a higher floor, but the decor was pretty outdated. Like, early or mid 80's? Maybe even earlier than that? I don't know if the hotel is responsible for that or the business, but either way, it wouldn't hurt to update everything, or at least make the place completely retro. I'd probably pass on going here the next time I'm in Sweden.

The bar is small, unassuming and finds itself on a street filled with conspicuous, Italian restaurants hosting happy hours for corporate Swedes. The bar is a standout for the drinks, the trademark Swedish charisma and genuine warmth. As a side, shout out to Sweden for having the nicest, most welcoming people in the world. We were given a standing table when we got in, but quickly moved to a couple of seats by the bar. We were one of 8 couples at the bar, so yes, very date night vibes. For our first round of drinks, we got the Easy Martini and Let them Eat Cake. The latter was too sweet for our liking but the Easy Martini had the perfect amount of sweet and tart. Our second round was the winner with the Girl Dinner and their Old Fashioned. The Girl dinner was crafted to perfection and possibly the best version of a martini we've ever had. The old fashioned too, made with WhistlePig 10 years was fantastic.
