I'm very disappointed when i went to Melges in Lake Geneva on August 31st 2021. I drove over 30 minutes to this location, because this location was the closest one. The detailers didn't take more than 25 minutes on my car because, there is STILL bird poop left ALL OVER my car! ALSO, there is still bug guts on the front of the vehicle after them spraying the chemicals, and the actual car wash. I paid 30 DOLLARS. And there's is still so much junk on the outside. I just bought my new van, and I have previous pictures of it of course with the excitement. So I decided to take it through my favorite car wash expecting there to not be any problems because I know that I can trust them with as many times as I went previously. Well my whole world changed when it comes to car washes there, I could tell the equipment is cheap I didn't even get the full package deal that I paid for not to mention it was advertised for $20 ended up paying $21 I know it's not a huge difference. Except for as marketing director that is wrong. I now have three fresh metal to metal scrapes, and my lawyer will be getting involved along with my insurance company, I did call them and to no Surprise no answer. I've heard many things about their changes and it's my fault for not believing in other people's truths because I trusted in them for so long. read more

Really impressed with it being my first time having my car interior detailed. Got the full service ($30) with the extra detailing ($10). My 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee was disgustingly dirty tbh, layer of dog hair, dirt, and god knows what else... wasn't really expecting a whole lot given it's current state. Holy crap, it's spotless! Tiniest of cracks, door frames, windows, dashes, floors, center console (which I never thought they would get clean). Only thing I would have asked for was to shampoo the carpets and clean the cloth on the visors since they were a little dirty. Maybe they have that though?, didn't see it and didn't ask, but would have paid more for it if they do. For the 40-50 minutes I spent there, I couldn't have done it faster. Don't know how I never knew about this place since I've lived 15 minutes away my whole life... Will definitely be coming back! read more

These folks do a great job, well worth what they charge to clean your auto.

Not one employee had a mask on and the initial attendant had us roll down the window, yelled in our car with window partially rolled down to reach in to write a letter on the window. My husband and I were not expecting any contact at all and the guy yells in our window without a mask. Get to dry station and guy opens our door, my husband grabs it shut and holds up our receipt, only towel dry. Not one of these workers had masks on. If you intend on speaking to people put a mask on and give us a heads up - we would have forgone a clean car. read more

Did an Ultimate wash with wax for $35. Had to wait for my car for almost 1/2 hour. When I got home discovered streaks all over the car, dirty rims and no tire shine. The next day when I drove toward the sun discovered the windshield was all streaked dur to being dried with a wet towel. Called and left a scathing voicemail (no swearing) and a call back number. Never got a call. This place is TERRIBLE...a real rip off. I paid $35 for a wash that was worth $5. The only reason they stay in business is because they are the only full service wash in the area. If they had competition they'd be out of business for sure. read more

I have been going to this business to get my car washed ever since it opened, and I am always MORE than satisfied with the quality of the job done, the service, and the friendliness of the people who work there. I am not one of the "rich summer home owners and tourists" mentioned in the review from "Dennis T.". I am "regular people", and, though I never enjoy a price increase, Melges does an excellent job, even on the lowest priced car wash! Keep up the good work! It shouldn't be more than $5 and their $12-$20 CW's..No Thanks.. My car was fairly dirty when I brought it in- I had to swap cars with my mom and she returned it after two days with muddy cat paw prints striped up and down from hood to trunk. Add this to my super dusty dash with fur from my dog (although I vacuumed interior recently) and the grimy center console and I had a chore for them. For $25 I got the premium package which included the full wash and interior service. I drove it through the wash (I'm 32 and this was the first time ever but thanks to an attendant I didn't feel like an idiot) and then after you leave your car with the detail guys and go into the waiting area in the building while they finish. Even with the 2 years of dust on my dash and console they had it all finished in about 15 minutes. They did a great job for $25! I used to help my dad detail at a dealership and I can tell you if you had as much grime as me they will not get every nook and cranny spotless, but you are paying for a 15 minute wipe, not a $125 dealership detail. I still feel I got far more than I paid for. Don't forget to bring a few bucks cash to stick in the tips box for the detailers if you have a service more than the wash. I forgot and had to use my emergency stash in my wallet. As for the waiting room, they have free Starbucks coffee, they sell snacks and auto accessories and other little stuff. There is a tv and the seating is comfortable. It was clean and pleasant. The only bummer is that it was noisy being on the other side of the wall from the car wash (kids would love to see the wash through the windows) and there is a bit of auto shop smell but nothing noxious. I will be returning here frequently for touch up washes that start at $5 and washes go up to $25. They also have unlimited packages that start at $20 a month. read more

To start - the parking lot is a maze, hard to find the entrance. Once I get inside to discuss what kind of service i need, i learn that its self service, I have to do it MYSELF... and yet pay $30 for the privilege. I paid (30?) for the Ultimate wash (?) and ran it through a wash about the same quality as others sell for $8.... i paid an extra $5 for wax... the next day it rained and there was no water beading on my car, I am not even sure I got wax at all. The "after" crew were nice and seemed to do a good job, however I noticed they did not get between the seat and the center console - I will have to do that myself. Also while wiping the dash they pressed several buttons including something to do with my traction control and radio. All in all I would be better off bribing a neighbor kid next time. This is Melges car wash is a scam. I took my brand new car for exterior and interior wash and they scratched a surface around the gear shift. Owner denied responsibility claiming their towels are soft and never catch any sand or gravel. Nevertheless my door jams were still dirty with sandy dirt which could have easily been picked up with the towel. Owner is totally ignorant and denies any fault. Customer be aware. read more

I used Melges car wash yesterday. I'm not sure about a few things. I paid $30 for my truck. My back seat was full of horse feed, so I told them to skip it. The truck was not real dirty. I asked if it included an undercarriage wash as I wanted to get the salt off of it. I never got a straight answer???? So does it? My wheel wells were still very dirty and my step ups were still dirty. I also still had faint paw prints on the dash. I was not even aware a cat had been in my truck. Was I expecting too much. When I asked inside the office about the under carriage, I got a deer in the headlight look. Again, not sure if there wash includes under carriage wash. Anybody? She said they do the best they can. My truck is a black 2011 F250, but looks brand new and I take good care of it. I also noticed tiny little scratches all over it from the brushes. I'm hoping they are just in the wax. The cheapest car wash is now $8 (not $5). The worst part is that my car still had dirt on the sides when done. Not sure if something has recently changed, but I don't plan on going back. I am from IL and there are now two $3 car wash places right by my house. I'll just stop there before heading up to the lake. I went to the car wash based on the reviews and was thoroughly disappointed. I paid $25 and they hadn't wiped a good portion of the dash, cleaned the floor mats, or wiped the inside of the window. When I pointed out the mats, they said it looked like salt. At my encouragement, he cleaned the mat, and when he picked it up you could see it hadn't been vacuumed under neath. I finally borrowed the vacuum and finished myself. When I got home, I realized they hadn't washed inside of my rear window either. Nice people, but poor job. My father paid $15 and finished after mine even though his car was first. We had different crews so apparently his cared more than mine. Very disappointing. read more

Not certain why I am reading any bad reviews about this place. Where can you find such a service with three or four workers cleaning, vacuuming or polishing your car? It does cost around $20, with a tip maybe $5.00 or so more, but you drive away with a totally clean car. I may still find a few pens underneath a car seat, (it is too be expected as I am not paying $125 for detailing) but overall it is far better than the mess it had been in. I still take my car to the $7.00 Kwik Trip wash, as it is right near my apartment, but it is just to remove the dirt and salt, not to really to clean it. I recommend this place to anyone as I still cannot believe that there is this type of service anywhere anymore. read more

My husband had my car detailed for Mother's Day and WOW! I love it. My car was terrible. I have three kids under the age of ten and they basically live in the car. We are going, going, going. My car was embarrassing. I was thrilled with the results. It looked and smelled brand new. The interior carpet was scrubbed. Each compartment was cleaned. It sparkled when I got in it. What a great gift. They did a fantastic job. There was not a speck of dirt anywhere. They even fixed the seat adjuster that had been broken. I was and am very impressed with the service. My husband took it in the morning and it was finished by 5. They called and let him know it was ready to be picked up. I have gone there before for car washes and have always received excellent service. It is clean and everyone is pleasant. There are seats inside as well as outside. They jacked their rate on the basic wash 60%!!! Was $5 - now $8. Not a bad wash but hardly worth an increase that big.
