My wife and I cannot recommend Melissa Hartigan enough! We chose Melissa for our newborn photographs and we are so thankful that we did! Our baby was two weeks old for the session and my wife and I were very anxious about how our baby was going to handle everything. Melissa greeted us with a warm welcome and eased our concerns as soon as we stepped through the doors of her beautiful studio, which is also very relaxing (feels very spa-like!) and even has a separate area with coffee, tea and snacks for the parents; such a nice touch! I was lucky to find Melissa Hartigan Photography after a friend of mine had also used her for a Maternity Photo shoot. When I first talked to Melissa on the phone it was like speaking to an old friend. OUR EXPERIENCE WAS AMAZING!!! We found Melissa after doing a lot of search on the web to look for the best! As soon as we saw her work we knew she was the ONE! We had our pregnancy session done in her beautiful and cozy studio, we were amazed with her talent and attention to detail. She knew that we wanted to display our pictures in our baby shower which was around the corner and she got it done on time! Our baby arrived during the pandemic shut down so we had to wait until the State reopened, we were a little concerned about our baby being a few weeks older, so alert and be able to cooperate with Melissa, but as soon as we arrived, there was absolutely nothing we had to do just relax, she took care of everything! My husband and I were given a gift from my mother to have professional newborn photos taken of our son and we couldn't have been more impressed with Melissa Hartigan Photography. Honestly, I don't think 5 stars is enough! Melissa's studio is absolutely stunning as well as spotless clean and warm and welcoming. We felt at home in her studio where she offered coffee and tea as well as a cozy sofa to relax on while she take photos. She was very calm and gentle with our son and we immediately felt comfortable with her as she handled our newborn. Our son was a little fussy at times and she was able to quickly soothe him. What can I say about one of the most talented, creative, professional, patient, thoughtful and kindest person I know. I met Melissa three years ago when I was pregnant with my son Alexander and I wanted maternity and newborn photos. Our experience with Melissa Hartigan Photography has been absolutely amazing. She was so easy to communicate and work with, and the whole process was very enjoyable. Melissa is an amazing photographer and we love our pictures. She is very professional and her studio is cozy for both parents and baby with music, lavender scent, and even a kitchen with snacks. She has everything ready for when you arrive and is very organized that you do not have to do anything, which is a huge plus for just having a newborn. We absolutely loved our session with Melissa for our sons newborn photoshoot! Melissa was so warm and welcoming and has such a calm and serene studio located in Coventry, CT. She was so kind to allow us to arrive a little early since we were coming from further away and needed to get in a feed before our son started his session with her. Melissa recently photographed my maternity photos and they turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined! She has a way of making you feel so comfortable and posing you in a way that, even at 35 weeks pregnant, is flattering and really shows off your bump. She was open to our ideas and worked them into the photos in a very natural way. As an added bonus, she has a large selections of gowns to chose from and brought along a few accesories for me to use, which saved me a bundle (I looked, purchasing on my own would have been about $200). She also thinks of all the small details (ie: she has a tent for you to change outfits at outdoor shoots... I changed behind a bush for my engagement pics with a different photographer! Haha). I couldn't have been more impressed by Melissa's professionalism, patience and attention to detail. My 4 year old is quite shy and would not smile for anything. Melissa talked with him for a while and made him so comfortable. We actually got a smile! When we walked into Melissa's studio, we were absolutely blown away by the space she has. The different settings, backdrops, and props were endless! The photos of her stunning work with infants around the studio absolutely blew me away. Melissa so clearly enjoys what she does. Melissa was recommended by a family friend who said "I would have paid a million dollars for her". Now after meeting Melissa and having her take my son's Christmas pictures, I know my friend was not exaggerating. When we arrived to her studio for a mini session, we had a tired, hungry, and cranky baby on our hands. Melissa never made us feel rushed and did everything in her power to calm him (bringing in white noise, rocking him, feeding him). He cried most of the session but you would never know with the pictures she gave us. He is happy in most, smiling, and she even calmed him enough to get him to sleep. The pictures are awesome.
