I understood that arriving early didn't mean I would be seen before my appointment time, so that wasn't my concern. After filling out my paperwork twice, my information was still entered incorrectly into the system, which was frustrating. Found out during prenatal testing, thank you lab nurses. After providing a urine sample, I was taken back by the medical assistant, who repeatedly referred to me as being in my first trimester when I was actually in my second trimester. Stated I was 14 weeks, just found out the baby is measuring 17 weeks... I then met with the nurse practitioner, who asked if I had any questions. I had to ask whether I would be able to see my baby or hear the heartbeat because it was never mentioned. The medical assistant brought in a Doppler and explained that because I was "in my first trimester," they might not be able to find the heartbeat. Again, this was incorrect. An ultrasound would have shown measurements and provided reassurance that everything was progressing normally. After the failed Doppler attempt, I had my routine prenatal blood work completed. That was the extent of my visit. No ultrasound was performed, no genetic screening options were discussed, and I never met the OB. I understand physicians have busy schedules, and I wasn't upset that I didn't see the doctor. What was upsetting was leaving my very first prenatal appointment without seeing my baby, hearing a heartbeat, or receiving reassurance after an extremely difficult first trimester. As a first-time prenatal patient, I expected a more thorough and reassuring experience. Instead, I left feeling discouraged and disappointed. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide not to return.

i cannot say enough good things about dr. chisolm. he is the best doctor i've ever had by far…read more his knowlege and expertise are way above average. his bedside manner is excellent. his nursing staff is kind and professional. he is able to do a lot of testing right in his office. he sees you in a timely manner and is able to electronically order your prescriptions. he always remembers what's going on with you. i was really impressed when i came to his office 45 minutes before they opened with food poisoning and he was able to get me a hospital bed reserved while he stabilized me until a friend was able to drive me to the hospital. most of all, dr. chisolm really listens.

He makes sure that you understand what you need to about any problem you may have. It's not just Dr. Shelnutt that makes going to visits a wonderful experience. The entire staff here are very welcoming, sweet and kind. They all care about you and any needs that you may have. . I have been his patient for 25 years and I will not go to any other gynecologist.

I started coming to this place September 2017 and realized early that they aren't any help. I had several problems that would cause a lot of pain with confirmed diagnosis. Each time I went there to get help they would test me for something unrelated to my pain. They weren't interested in helping me. Not only that they told me I'll be on medical leave and then after a surgery refused to signed the forms causing me to lose out on my leave pay. I'm lucky to have another doctor to fill out the leave forms or I wouldn't have a job right now. At my last appointment they were worried about bi-poplar which isn't my diagnosis at all but it's on my record for them and they never treated me for bi-polar but yet they were discussing something I don't have when I was there for my pain from surgery. I never did find out what's causing my pain. If you need a doctor that will help and listen you in your time of need don't go here! Worse experience ever.

I read the review that complained it took too long to get an appt. The practice is popular and it does take a while to get in as a new patient. My first appt was 53 weeks in advance. Yes - a year and a week. Go ahead and accept it then ask to get on a cancellation list. They called me in after 5 months and I've been here since. Dr Anthony has a stellar rep and I really wanted to get in his practice. With their guidance and medications I took my A1c from 8-9 to 5.6 my last test a couple weeks ago. I've lost about 30lbs and feel better than I have in a long time. They offered me an appt for dietary guidance and it was very helpful. I had been diagnosed 18 years by then but I learned some good info in that class. I've never had any difficulty with any staff; they've all been as sweet as pie. Once I didn't have the right amount to pay my bill (self pay) and they let me run down to the kwickie mart and buy a snack to get change. I told them I liked it there and sure wasn't going to run off and lose my place in the practice for $90. No way!! If you are looking for an endocrinologist don't hesitate to visit Endocrinology of Athens. I'm very satisfied with the care I get.

This lady is very old school, rude, and obviously believes she can treat people bad, and go on about her day. From the moment that she answered to the moment I explained to her I would be reporting her behavior, she had a carefree attitude. She said they do not have appointments available for 7 months, and said I needed to call my doctor. I did call my GP, and matter of fact I asked them to please never refer any of their patients to them. I now have an appt in April with another doctor, and Patrick that doctors office manager was A++. This doctor needs to immediately take control of his office, or his reputation will go down fast no matter his skill set. This practice is 3/4 of a mile from me, but I'll gladly drive to Prince Avenue in Athens now. Our family backs St. Mary's group 100%, but they have to step it up.
