I've mostly been to Dr. Busse but I've heard that the other two are just as great. Dr. Busse is excellent. Every time I've gone to get, I've felt like she really listened to me and took my concerns seriously. She also takes her time with each patient and seems to genuinely care about each person. Dr. Busse has also had training in holistic medicine so she can recommend natural and homeopathic remedies for various ailments. I really appreciate that and it came in really handy when I was pregnant and couldn't use a lot of medications. I have really bad allergies and she really helped me manage those when I couldn't use the normal medicines. The only bad thing is that you do sometimes have long waits but that seems to be pretty standard at most doctor's offices.

I've never had issues with waiting to see the doc and she hasn't ever tried to "hint" at specific medications or programs. I've always had a great experience with her staff as well. Everyone clearly knows what they're doing in the office and I'm able to get appointments when I need them. Dr. Yuan even agreed to see me the day after I'd arrived home from China in Jan 2020. Thankfully no COVID. I'm not sure I could recommend her or her practice more. This isn't some place with 40 doctors where you see a different person every time and that's really beneficial because she's gotten to know who I am, what works for me and what doesn't. I also don't have to talk to a new doctor every time I go.

I called a couple offices under my insurance, and the soonest I could get in as a new patient would be months after my trip. That was the case when I called Norton Community Medical Associates in Mid City Mall too, but the clerk there was able to get me in the following morning due to a cancellation at their sister site on Barret Avenue. And that's how I met Dr. Ana Overley. She was quick and efficient. Chatting with me about my overall health needs, while also getting me what I needed for my trip, which ended up being three vaccinations and some malaria pills. I also appreciate that she didn't redo a bunch of basic dianostic tests and bloodwork that I just had done at my ob/gyn. She just asked that I get a copy and bring the results with the next time I come in. Done. She was easy to talk to and put me at ease. And the staff person, who gave me my shots, also deserves some commendation. I'm not a big fan of needles, and I did not feel the needles go into my arm. Fast and relatively pain-free -- that's what I want when I must get a shot. The office was also immaculately clean. The front desk staff was courteous. I feel better knowing that I now have a primary care office near my home I can rely on.

Thankfully I didn't need to visit often and over the years chose to schedule visits with the nurse practitioners. Compared to Dr. Nolan, they spent more time with me and asked questions. As I began visiting other specialtists and their offices, I began to notice a difference in my experience with them - little to no waiting long after my appointment time, helpful office staff, friendly lab technicians, documentation online rather than paper files, cleaner waiting rooms and exam areas. After a terrible experience with the front desk associate, one that resulted in other staff members apologizing for her behavior and me waiting for almost an hour past my appointment, I found another primary physician. A few months later I convinced my husband that his lackluster experience shouldn't be acceptable. He needs regular visits for his medical health and we need a doctor that is attentive. My husband had since left Dr. Nolan. One thing that is consistent with this office is customer service that leaves you wanting more. "Susan" is a long time associate and the face of Dr. Nolan's office. While I'm sure she knows office processes front to back, she doesn't provide an upbeat, friendly presence to patients signing in. Her phone skills are the same. If you have a long-standing relationship with Dr. Nolan, I understand staying with what you know. If you're looking for a new primary physician for yourself or family, I'd continue searching for other recommendations.

I went in for a new birth control prescription and she told me I couldn't start it till my next cycle (3 weeks later), when I could've started it right then, it would've just delayed my cycle a little bit, no big deal. Well now I'm pregnant. 8 weeks along. Thanks Janet for not telling me all the information I needed for this birth control. Another time, I was in the process of being tested for ADHD/ADD and my whole immediate family takes some sort of attention deficit medication so Janet told me it would be okay to take their medication for the time being until i got the clearance for my own prescription as it was the end of my senior year. I was planning on going to UofL while doing the work-study program to pay for it. Needless to say, I failed my drug test with amphetamines as the only thing showing up. Of course, she wouldn't write a note stating she gave me clearance to take my families meds as her medical license would've been revoked.
