Great summer camp experience. My daughter really enjoyed it and the pickup / dropoff is very easy. Location is near the highway, very convenient. Aside from learning an impressive amount of dance moves in a few days that can be filmed to look decent, the kids also have playtime midday including water play on Fridays. After care runs as late as 6 but my daughter was mostly just watching Disney movies with the very nice girl watching her, not much else was going on. Main con was that the camp was one of the most expensive ones per week compared with other camps locally with similar hours, including themed ones (eg hiller aviation). Also it was really hard to retrieve the video of kids' dances - it's hosted on canva and there's no way to download the hard file. Aside from that, my daughter had fun and we hope to do it again next year. read more

What an incredible dance studio and treat to have right here in San Carlos. All three of my kids have been attending Melodic remedy in San Carlos. We have done acrobatic class, dance class, tap, intro to dance and hip-hop. For all the families in and around the San Carlos area, you definitely need to check this place out. *Updated: Evaluations for 7 year old taking hip-hop for fun? My son took hip-hop from 5-8 years old. He is not a gifted dancer-he was taking it for fun! We got evaluations stating needs improvement, no other comments, no communication prior to this. I had to request to talk to the teacher multiple times. I asked to opt out of the evaluation (which did not give clear guidance). The last thing any kid this age needs is an evaluation for what is supposed to be a fun activity (it did not seem geared towards class placement as noted in the response from Melodic Remedy). read more

This is the first year my daughter has been at Melodic Remedy. She is in Jazz 1A and Acro 1A. I really like the dance studios, they are bright and big and there is ample space for parents and caregivers to hang out. As many have mentioned the communications at this studio is awesome. I even like their monthly billing system. Everything is explained clearly and early enough to make changes if you would like. I also like that your child gets a report card from their teacher at the end of the year. My daughter really pushed herself to get her back bend down to move up in Acro. My daughter has been attending Melodic for two years. She has taken a variety of classes (hip hop, acro, jazz, ballet, lyrical, and musical theatre). She loves going to class, and all her teachers! It has been wonderful watching her grow as a dancer. The studio is well organized, and the staff is excellent. I have emailed several times with questions, and always receive a response within 24 hours. I really cannot say enough about their communication as well, through emails and newsletters. We just attended our first summer camp this year. The camp is extremely organized. My daughter has so much fun, she actually asks to go to aftercare! The drop offs and picks up are extremely efficient. Better than most camps we have attended. My daughter has been dancing here for almost 2 years now and we couldn't be happier. She takes tap ballet and musical theater. All of the teachers are amazing and my daughter on has positive things to say about them. They do two shows a year which they put so much hard work into making sure it runs perfectly. I recently discovered this new dance studio, when my granddaughter switched over to them. I have dropped her off several times, and was very impressed by the spacious, clean facility. There is an open door policy for parents, making parents and grandparents feel welcome. :-) What really impressed me as a retired educator was how the owner/teacher worked with the children, dancing as vigorously as the kids. WE love, love, love this amazing new place to dance! Huge dance rooms, large common area being built for the kids to relax and do homework between classes. Tons of parking because it actually has it's own parking lot. My daughter is 15 and has been dancing and singing since she was 3, through Parks and Rec, Studio S, and Dance Mode Studio who just downsized from this location. Kim and Jen had taught my daughter at prior schools and Kim is currently teaching her here and as the most highly respected WOODSIDE DANCE COACH!! It is awesome to have Jen who has danced professionally and Kim who coaches a high school team and is asked (maybe begged) by Woodside Drama Dept, Woodside (THE TOWN) Community Theatre and most recently Portola Theatre to choreograph their productions teaching our kids!!!! The best part is pulling in at night to get my smiling girl and hearing the tap shoes from the lot, and walking in to see all these kids that have danced together at several places all back together again! Our daughter loves it there, period. When we speak with the instructors you can tell they care about each child. I am always impressed with their patience in dealing so many children. Nothing in this world is perfect so you need to have some patience. For anyone ready to give a bad review, I hope you've spoken to the studio first, in person, and given them a chance to address any specific issues you may have. Otherwise, it's just complaining. Also, please make sure you read each person's review so you see where each individual comes from. Some reviewers give bad reviews to many different businesses, so that should tell you something. I respect everyone's opinion, even if their experience is different than ours and our daughter's. We've had nothing but great experiences there, however. read more

While my kids liked learning how to dance, we were continuously disappointed by the school's abrupt closings (Mondays) for unknown to us reasons. My wife took the kids out of their after school programs more than 3 times in just few months only to find the studio closed with no explanation. We decided to pull the kids out as it is unacceptable. First, they should have called, second they shouldn't close the school practically half the time. read more

This review is long overdue. My children have been dancing here for over a year and simply love it! The studio is professional in their operations, management, teaching and policies. It's a newer studio, but you wouldn't know it. I found their communication to be very timely and informative; parents are treated as partners and respected. Most importantly, they have the dancers' best interests in mind and that is what I admire about this studio. I found the teachers dedicated to each individual child and willing to go the extra mile. Teachers are accomplished in dance, patient, encouraging, and give positive feedback. The atmosphere is wonderful and rooms and floors are updated and beautiful. My children love it here and enjoy the competitive dance team. We are SO GLAD to have moved here from a Redwood City dance studio where my daughters' self-esteems were demoralized, administration was disorganized, and teachers frequently arrived late to class. I was looking for a studio that is structured but nurturing for new dancers (my daughter). She has really enjoyed talking class from Ashley in her intro to dance. Even at her first show she enjoyed her experience. I have danced myself for years and performed in shows as well. The show that Melodic Remedy puts together was very professional! Hate the construction that's going on next door and the parking situation some times but as far as school I love it! For the most part it has been some what positive however I feel like the evaluations are not done as they mention and you never really know how your child is doing unless you ask and unless it is one of there well known dancers who's parents can afford 15 classes per week they are ignored.. when you go to register you really have no idea if you should move your child up leave them where they are and that info is not given so your child sits in the same class with know advancement unless you beg for information unfortunately for my child she is unable to take the classes she wants due to the limited availability of when the classes are offered they all merge together again I feel that they cater to specific people and there needs and it is not done fairly I'm not down for the dance mom clique and unless you are then expect your child to show up and sit in the same class time and time again read more

As a former dancer at this studio, I experienced a lot of exclusion, favoritism, and drama at the time I was there. Teachers favorited their students and would tend to exclude others who were "not as good" or not one their favorites. Dance students would form cliques with certain peers and brutally exclude other students, as they were viewed as more "popular" in the studio. Dance classes went well with me as a student: I learned how to improve myself as a dancer through the classes I took, but the favoritism and cliques made me lose my passion and overall lead me to quit dance. I always felt ignored during classes by the teachers while their favorites were always the first to be complimented, encouraged, and supported. The same favorite students were always placed at the front for nearly every routine while the rest were in the back. It was seemingly an unfair experience in my perspective. read more

Like it very much so far. My granddaughter goes there and takes 3 classes. They seem professional, good environment. The only Thing I don't like is that for one of the Acro classes the teacher needs to be more strict, he's a guy and the little girls don't respect him too much but hopefully my granddaughter gets a different class next season. Both of our young daughters love Melodic Remedy. The 8 year old started with one class a couple years ago and after watching the dance show with all the other dances/more experienced dancers, she quickly wanted to sign up for more. She is now in 6 classes. It's been great for her self confidence as well as health benefits. The instructors and staff really do a great job of helping the kids and make us feel at home at the studio...and SAFE (which is super important to us). The more we go, the more we love it (parents and kids). Our 6 year old is in her second year of intro to dance and has moved up as expected. She is starting to really show improvement and because it's not hard core for the littles, it lets them really get into it at their own pace. LOVE MELODIC REMEDY and HIGHLY RECOMMEND! read more

We've been with MR for almost a year now. My kids really look forward to going to their dance classes every week. So far we've tried jazz, hip-hop, and now tap and tap/ballet combo. My kids really like their teachers and enjoy performing in the showcase, which is a great experience for them. I was really surprised at how organized their performances are. With so many dancers and dances, I thought for sure it would be chaos, but they seemed to bring it together quite smoothly. They have a wide range of classes and we were even able to find ones at the same time for two different-aged kids. The price is also very reasonable. The only problem I've had is that the studio is getting so popular that there is less space in the waiting area for those who want to get work done while our kids are in class. But the studio has plans to grow and find more studio space, which should help. read more

My kids love it here... They do a 2 hour session which is broken into acrobatics then ballet/tap. Teachers are awesome as well.
