I've never written a review before, but I feel like I have to. This is not against the salon, but rather to put out a warning to others about a stylist. I made an appointment with Chelli a few weeks ago. I was originally quoted $170 for a full base color and maintenance cut. I expected it to be a little more than that bc it always is, but I was absolutely shocked when I got to the counter at the end of my appointment and had to pay almost $500. During the appointment, we had to color my hair 3 separate times due to the color not reflecting my reference pictures. At first, I thought she was being really nice, working hard to get me the result I wanted. After the 3rd round of color, she cut my hair, and after almost 7 hours of being there, I was eager to leave (even though the color still wasn't exactly what I wanted). I was offered a color conditioner, which I accepted, but admittedly didn't ask the price of (but I can't imagine it would be more than $50). When I reached the counter and read my total, I was shell-shocked. I suspect she charged me for the extra bowls of color, but I don't see how it's fair that my price has tripled due to her lack of ability to get it done in one try. What I was asking for has been achieved by many stylists on the first try, to my satisfaction. I truly am very easy to please, but I strongly feel this was a lack of care or skill. Lastly, the reason I'm writing this is bc when I went to a new stylist for my cut and color, they showed me that the layers in my hair were grossly uneven by about 4 inches. When I told my new stylist what happened and how much I paid, she was shocked again. Honestly, the salon was beautiful, and I hope that others have better experiences with other stylists, but I would not recommend Chelli. If she had communicated with me through the process and explained the increase in price, I would've reacted differently. I wouldn't have gone through with the extra rounds of color. I would have rather saved my money and left with negative results than pay as much as I did and still leave with negative results. The increase in price should've been clearly communicated. I even discussed my struggles with money during our appointment. I felt taken advantage of and don't want this to happen to someone else. read more
