I wasn't contacted, so I tried to reach out to them via their website, and leaving phone messages. After 4 or 5 unaswered messages, I was going to give up when I got a call from Chad who said they would come at 1:00 today. Complete no show - I didn't even get a courtesty call to reschedule. I am a master gardener and have been gardening for decades. Melvin's is my go to company for mulch. For reference, this year I ordered 10 yards. Great quality mulch. Fair price. Fast delivery and friendly delivery drivers. Other reviewers have complained about getting weeds. Melvin only sells you mulch not a landscaping team. You get weeds with or without mulch but with mulch they're pretty easy to pull out and your chosen plants are happy. I have purchased less expensive mulch from other companies/municipalities that is full of junk. Melvin's is high quality and NOT full of seeds. Life can get busy and I've made the mistake of failing to keep my garden mulched. Those are the kind of weeds you don't wanna deal with particularly in a large garden. When I have a fresh mulch pile sitting in my driveway people stop to find out where I got that beautiful stuff. I recommend them all the time and will continue to use them. read more

These are the guys who deliver my wood. A full freaking cord 3 to 4 times a year! I love this place. They have everything I need for my landscaping needs from mulch, firewood and traffic bond for patio construction. Drivers are courteous and helpful and they always make sure to get me whatever it is I ordered in a timely fashion. Melvin also makes sure to place what I ordered exactly where I need it. I've used a few other so called landscape companies before until I finally landed with Melvin. I will go nowhere else. These guys are it! They are the best! read more

2016 has been "The Year of Landscaping" at the BM/JT household. The previous owners preferred the "natural look" which translates to "let's just leave all this shit to grow wild for like 20 years". Anyway, after removing all the garbage we need mulch. Lots of mulch. Yards and yards of the stuff. So far, the very nice people at Melvin's have delivered something like 12 yards to our house. The prices per yard are reasonable, they show up when they say they will and delivery makes the whole process a lot easier. We called this location in advance to check their hours of operation. Especially because it was Easter weekend. The woman we spoke to stated they would be open at 730am on Saturday (3/31). We hired labor and rented a dump truck and drove from Muskego, when we arrived at Melvin's it was closed. We called repeatedly and waited but still no one showed up. This cost us money and now our project is delayed. Very disappointing. read more

We thought that we would give this company another chance. Years ago we got mulch delivered. We prepped the gardens by putting down black cloth fabric before mulch arrived. It was recommended that we lay 3-4" of mulch. We ordered enough to use 4 inches. Within 2 weeks, we had weeds and grass growing in the gardens! Calls were not returned. Fast forward, we thought okay, small business let's try to support them again. No return call. It's been 3 weeks. I cannot believe that people are praising this company! Melvin Mulch's pricing is very reasonable, and their service is outstanding. I wasn't sure how much to order, and the woman on the phone walked me through exactly what I needed to do and helped me place the order. Jeff delivered 3 tons of limestone and 2 tons of paver base to me today - the day after I ordered it. He was very accommodating as we have a small area in which to place the product. And, their delivery in Milwaukee was free! Anytime I need landscaping products, I will order from them. read more

My best advise, find someone with better business practices. Just this past week one day I called to get some specifics out of the way, sounded all good, I had to double check my help would be available, so I called back the very next day to give my CC # and confirm a drop off approx. time, and I have no idea why but all of a sudden EVERYTHING changed, they wanted to charge me DOUBLE the price I was told, & I can see clearly on the internet & yes double what I could clearly see on their own web site ! She couldn't even come up with any reasonable answer at all. ~~ And if that wasn't bad enough, she said they were going to charge me double (again) for delivery !! She said they were going charge me as if I had two trucks coming even though the ton of rock would all be coming in one truck !! I was baffled at all of this & again no type if reasonable answer why. She did supposedly "go to the supervisor" and came back only to repeat , double everything ! I wouldn't have really done anything at this point but curiosity made me ask,,, ok if I am paying the price of two truckload deliveries , can I split the delivery up and have it delivered by two trucks -lol- they of course said no to that to !! ~~ if you see their website it seems prices are very clear and shows "picked up yourself" and Delivery prices for a list of places, they service for a stated price, & yes, I live well within their delivery areas . read more

Prices are great. The quality of the mulch is good. I have used 3 different kinds from them. But getting a hold of them is hard. If they do answer you most likely will spend a long time on hold and their message box is always full. read more
