We popped by to inquire about grass-seeding, and their team is very knowledge! We're hoping to improve our lawn by doing some pre-winter work, followed my spring re-seeding. We gathered a few products that should prove to be helpful! We also love to graze through the gift-like items inside, especially around this time of year. They've started putting our unique holiday item and fun ornaments. Plus, there corner selection of gifts for kiddos is always great. Of course we didn't leave empty handed, as my house needed a few mini xmas trees to add to the decor, and we even grabbed a fun little 'reindeer' game we'll definitely play with the family this season. Planning to come back for a wreath in the coming weeks (they have big and beautiful ones). Highly rec supporting this local garden center if you get the chance.

An employee at Bayside sawed the trunk for us, put the netting on, and strapped it to the top of our car- it really saved us the hassle of doing it ourselves! A couple of disappointments I've had with Bayside are: I applied for a part-time job there a couple of years ago and had spoken to a few different employees. I went in a few times to follow-up. I also made phone calls to follow-up. The manager never got back to me and no one ever called me back. Very disappointing at the time. Also, I have shopped here a lot and purchased multiple things from plants, to plant stands, to gardening tools, etc. I bought a pair of $20 pruning shears for my mom who has arthritic hands and the shears broke on the first use. I went to return them the next day, I didn't have my receipt but they remembered me, and they said I could not return them without the receipt. I was very annoyed.

Not sure what is reasonable or pricey for a plant, but most of them seemed fair to me. Although I did have to put back a string of pearls succulent. A little pricey, and I know I would kill this beauty. It was nice to just wander about without anyone trying to be overly helpful. Took my time and found some new plants for my apartment. Which will not die on me!! The staff, at checkout, were very friendly and efficient. I will definitely go back. Great succulent selection which I have a soft spot for.

When it was time to check out she put plants in boxes that make it easier to carry and was conversational during the checkout process. Owner asked if we would bring the plastic plant holders back if we were nearby. She said they are not recyclable and they would reuse them. When we were ready to move forward, she kept everything on track and on schedule. The installation team was excellent--efficient, respectful, and careful to protect our existing lawn during the process. We really appreciated the attention to detail. Johnson's has an impressive selection of native plants, and their deep knowledge of what works best for our yard was invaluable. They provided a detailed presentation with plant info and care instructions, which will be a huge help as we care for the new additions. We're so happy with how everything turned out and will definitely be working with them again on the next phase of our landscape improvements!

They…read morealso make their inventory readily available via the internet, which is great for planning purposes. Some of their prices were on par with others in the area, and some were much higher. We ordered quite a few trees from them this year (and even more from another local nursery). We had money down on trees that were due to arrive within 1-2 months from deposit. As it got closer, they did not notify us the date had changed, so by the time we were notified, others go to come and make a pick before us (instead of picking two from about a dozen, we picked from four). In the end we were happy with our purchases, but they could work out some of the logistics and followthrough with regular customers (we sensed the contractors got a little more attention). Also, I will add that years ago we paid for someone from Johnsons to come and give us ideas for our yard. I think we paid about $150 to get the lamest "sketch", but Johnsons was good about refunding the amount as a credit towards future purchases. It just was a bummer that we wasted time waiting for the person to come out and then a month for them to give us a photo of our yard with some pictures of 2 plants awkwardly pasted over it. If the person had take us seriously, they would have gotten way more business from us. Still, we recommend this place for its large inventory and quality of products.

I had already done much of my garden shopping for the year, prior to visiting, but was in need of a fancy iron trellis, some tomato plants, native grasses. Custom Grown Greenhouses has a large selection of affordable vegetables, herbs, annuals, a small selection of perennials, and they also carried affordably priced pre-made succulent planters (which are really popular and pricey at other garden shops). I did find the tomato I was looking for, and the native grass selection was adequate, although not extensive. I was disappointed that there wasn't much of a trellis selection beyond the most basic trellis, but many things just weren't clearly priced, so you'd have to find an associate. I actually would've bought lots more, had prices just been clearly displayed. This place IS affordable, and it's definitely worth checking out.

Unfortunately, she didn't get seeds in the ground this year because our housing situation was a bit up in the air just as she'd have needed to be planting. In need of some greenery in our lives we stopped in here just to take a look around. This place is way bigger than it looks from the street. As you walk back, you'll pass from room to well-organized room of all sorts of annuals, perennials, vegetables, and other decorative plants. I don't have much of a green thumb myself, but I couldn't help myself from getting a really cool hanging basket with a succulent in it called "string of pearls" or "rosary beads." It looks like a string filled with tiny grapes or peas. It's a cool, unique, and weird houseplant. I've got it hanging on my front porch right now (but thankfully protected from the crazy storms). It's not always immediately clear what something costs just looking at the tables, but it seemed like the staff was buzzing around enough that you could ask easily. All-in-all, a great and apparently underrated place
