Since it was Easter Sunday, most places were closed and we couldn't get through to anyone, we planned to have him cremated and wanted to take care of it right away. We called here and were able to speak with a very kind woman whose name I don't remember, she was very empathetic and understanding to our situation; she was their pet consultant. We wrapped our cat in blankets and placed him in a box and brought him down, it was a very hard time for the family. She gave us all of our options and was patient as we decided what was best for us. They cremated our cat and placed his ashes in a beautiful wooden box (with several to choose from) with a plaque including his name and any additional information we wanted on it. It took a couple of days after we brought him down there before we could bring him back home. They did a fantastic job and made us feel comfortable the entire process, I think the total cost was less than $150 for everything. When our cat was run over, he was wearing his collar with his tag. We asked the associate if we could get his name tag back, for the sentiment to attach to the box, which I felt was an odd request. She was very willing to accommodate and had it cleaned and looking brand new when we received it back. Although we haven't attached his nametag to the box, we keep it on top of it, sitting on our mantle. Although my needs were not that of a typical client, I felt at ease the entire time and trusted who we worked with. I would definitely return if the need arises (hopefully not anytime soon).

Elijah and his co-worker were so gentle and respectful as they arrived at my parents' home to retrieve my mother's body. They showed up in nice suits and took their time transferring my mother to the gurney. The lovely quilt they used to cover her was such a thoughtful touch. They were sensitive to our heightened emotions and did their work with great care and respect. Similarly, the staff at Larkin Sunset Gardens were professional and considerate as we planned my mother's funeral. Aaron Miller and Garrett Nelson were helpful while reviewing with us my parents' pre-planned burial arrangements and planning my mother's funeral. I was relieved that we were not hustled into paying more than necessary and that Larkin honored the terms of the arrangements that my parents had previously made and paid for. When it came time to dress my mother, Funeral Director Coltin Morrison was gentle and helpful. He worked with great care to assist us. I appreciated that he took the extra step to steam my mother's clothing before we dressed her. Finally, during my mother's funeral, the Larkin staff who assisted us there were professional and thorough in taking care of all the necessary details. All in all, the experience of saying goodbye to a loved one is very emotional and heart-wrenching. It was good to depend on the staff at Larkin Mortuary and Larkin Sunset Gardens to see us through the process of burying my mother. My husband and I were so impressed that we returned to buy plots next to my parents' plots. We trust that Larkin will take good care of us when our own time arrives.

All of the five star reviews are accurate: I can't recommend Utah Valley Mortuary highly enough…read more I live out of state and was in Utah to be with my mom as her life ended. In the days leading up to her passing, I was in no mood to do a lot of research and price comparisons with mortuaries. I had received a few recommendations from local friends and acquaintances, and Utah Valley Mortuary was the first (and only) place I called to make arrangements, in an almost arbitrary selection process. I was fortunate, then, that Matt and his team were extremely sensitive and professional from the very beginning. As others have mentioned, their pricing is reasonable and they didn't push us to buy anything we didn't feel we needed, which was great because when we buried our father 12 years ago the mortuary we used attempted to prey on our grief and push us to spend unnecessarily. Mom's body needed to be transported to California for burial and Matt was literally right at our side through the entire process of coordinating with the receiving mortuary. He made sure we understood all the expenses that the other guys were charging us as well. When we found out that our cemetery wouldn't be able to schedule us for burial for several weeks, Matt let us store the body on his site for extra time at no extra charge. I had Matt's cell phone number in order to call and text him on short notice and he was always so quick to respond. If I lived in Utah Valley I would plan on using this mortuary for all future services involving the passing of my loved ones. But since I don't, the best I can do for now is to strongly recommend Utah Valley Mortuary to you and anyone else looking for the highest quality assistance in dealing with end of life logistics. A bright highlight in a time of mourning.

Utah Valley Mortuary far exceeded our expectations! They took care of both my parents (10 years apart) and were so attentive with every detail. All details were handled so well and the communication was great as well I cannot recommend this mortuary more ! Truly one of the best experiences with what was a very sad moment. You will be well taken care of.

Knowing professionally the history of care and thoughtfulness I 've experienced working with them over the years, it was a no brainer. Brandon and Byron were both exceptional in caring for us and my mom. The grounds are well maintained and look very nice. Parking can be a little tricky, especially if there is more than one service happening at the same time, like the night that I attended. When I walked in the front door, there were directional signs as well as staff members to direct traffic to the appropriate service. The facility is nice and has a large chapel for services as well as rooms for families to greet guests. It has a very LDS feel to it, from the décor to the LDS hymnals in the chapel. Although based on another review, I'm sure they will accommodate other religions/beliefs as well.
