It's SUPPOSED to be a nature habitat & to date I've not seen playgrounds as standard in a natural habitat. There are many urban playgrounds - but few places set aside to support true natural habitats.

Well out in the countryside, with a big pond and several smaller wetland areas. Observation paths and decks for each. Parking and facilities at the main entrance, plus parking on the other side of the pond, and two smaller picnic areas up the road, with observation areas and shelters. One had a workout area, but not quite the playground we wanted. I didn't see bike paths, which is another feature I like in a park. But that's not really the purpose of this one- they're preserving the wetlands, and keeping human impact to a minimum.

The park has some athletic fields and a few picnic tablesIt seems to be really dog friendly. This is a nice view of the river from there. I have seen many bikers and runners stop and admire the scenery. It's not as popular as Whetstone but it's a very nice place to play or watch. There's a baseball field and basketball court. It's not that hard to find a parking spot. The lot in the north area is big enough. It also has an area that's connected to the Olentangy Wetlands by a bridge. This is a nice way to get a view of the river. I like these not as well known parks like Clinton-Como Park. It's not crowded like the bigger ones. There are some nice views of the Olentangy River from many areas and there's also good athletic and play equipment to keep kids busy while you hang out there.

This is a nice little park, featuring a small lake where you can look for wildlife - we spotted…read moresome turtles sunning themselves - as well as participate in some catch and release fishing. There are a few short trails around that let you explore the woods a bit. The trails are nicely mulched, although the mulch level was a bit high at the time of our visit, making it a bit challenging for the pint-sized members to wade through. We accessed the trails via the grassy area to the right when facing the lake from the parking lot near the entrance (there is a second parking lot further back, located between the restrooms and a shelterhouse with picnic tables). The trail comes to a fork, and taking the one to the right took us out to a nice viewing area for the nearby creek. We then backtracked to the fork and headed to the left, which took us along the back edge of the lake through the woods, which helped with the heat and let us look for some animals. This trail brought us to the shelterhouse and we followed the paved drive back to the front parking area. Enjoyable place for a visit!

Contrary to what is stated this park is not closed!!! I just spent about an hour there just walking…read morethe trails which are very nicely maintained. You can walk, run or bike just watch out for the walnuts and wet leaves in the fall. Besides very well maintained pathways there's a lot of nature. For you bird lovers this is amazing place to watch birds. Bring the kids and the dogs! There's a log cabin which you can't get into but is fun to look at and read a little about it's history. There are several bridges over clean streams. Another fantastic local park for photographers from beginners to professionals to take some amazing pictures. Other people whom I encountered along the way were friendly and kind. It made for a lovely walk!

This is a pretty area with some great paved walking paths to wander around on. There are picnic…read moretables and a nice garden space near the parking lot, and you can follow the trail back from there into the woods. One section will take you past the historic Fleming cabin with an interpretative sign. There is a very nice newly replaced boardwalk/pier at the pond, which offers some seating and picnic tables, and lets you enjoy the view. The water is a bit low right now - I'm not sure if they have a way to manipulate the depth that was adjusted while the pier was being rebuilt, or if it just happens to be low right now. If you go all the way out to the bench area, you can still get a nice view of the filled up portion of the pond, however. Vernal pools also appear throughout the year. A nice place to take a walk or go for a jog!

It's right beside the fire station, so be careful both driving in and pulling around back. There are a couple of small playgrounds, in a semi-shady area. Plenty of benches for tired adults. A nice soft play surface. Some swings. A couple of slides. Cool little "crayon" fence for some flowers.

There…read moreare a lot of things to do - boulder climbing, a very nice playground, a creek, public art, and sports fields (baseball diamonds, sand volleyball courts). There is a paved, multi use trail that goes throughout and a rental shelterhouse available. It looks like there are usually restrooms and water fountains open at the shelterhouse, though they seem to still be closed for the time being. The park is very kid friendly, and a visit here is a good way to enjoy the nice weather we've been having!

This is a very nice park for history, featuring the remains of three canal locks (Locks 11, 12, and…read more13 of the now dry Ohio & Erie canal) and a nicely maintained bright red covered bridge, the Hartman No. 2, which was moved to the location in the 1960s. The bridge is located in the middle of the park, unattached to the road, so it's quite walkable and is also able to be reserved for events. There's a good-sized parking lot and an open-air picnic shelter, plus a variety of picnic tables and benches throughout the area. There's a lot of green space to enjoy too.

We went to shoot pictures of the covered bridge... it's a beautifully preserved red covered bridge. You can walk on and around the bridge... you can't drive on it (it's not connected to a road). The park is near some houses on one side, and a field on the other. There are information kiosks that provide a bit of historical perspective on the bridge and lock. The volunteers who maintain the park are very helpful and friendly, and actually also suggested we go to another nearby park the maintain that has another covered bridge and more.

Plenty of parking, well-kept, easy to get to. I went to ride my bike, and that's where things went a bit downhill. There's not much room to ride in the park- great for kids, not for anyone interested in a longer ride. The paths connect to the Mudsock trail, which is mostly gravel. On the other end you can try to get to Hilliard Municipal park, which isn't much better. I recommend the many fine trails in other parts of central Ohio. In Hilliard, maybe start at Homestead Park and work north.

There's a creek here that they recently restored back to its original winding way and replanted native trees and plants. They also put a new bridge over it. It looks decent now. It had been just a straight trench filled with mostly stagnant water. In the 1800's the creek had been straightened for farm irrigation. Now it has been restored back to its original natural look. There's a paved trail that goes around the pond. It's good for joggers and bike riders or your kid's power wheels. There's plenty of parking here and a portapottie if you can stomach it. I usually just hold my pee.

Smith Nature Park is a small park between two churches in Upper Arlington. I thought nothing of it…read more Then one time we checked it out. It's really worth a look. There's lots in the space it takes up. I like how convenient this is. It's easy to get to. There's parking on either side of the woods. It's between two churches so a Sunday morning would be the worst time to come here. There's plenty of parking any other time. It's small enough that you can get through it in a few minutes maybe even less. There's some cool sights like a bridge and a stream. I like these small parks like Smith Nature Park. It's a cool spot in a boring white suburb. There needs to be more places like this.
