The parking garage has an entire level dedicated to the ENT patient parking. When I walked into the practice it was so clean and easy to find seating. I completed the self check in and barely had time to sit down before a nurse was calling me to complete my check in. I was called back at exactly my appointment time (a rarity in the medical field) and the nurse was friendly. I was seen by Dr. Craddock and I enjoyed him very much. In the span of my 30 minute appointment Dr. Craddock examined my ear with an otoscope and under a microscope, suctioned my ear, ran a pressure test, and went over my results with me. I felt thoroughly taken care of and look forward to my follow up appointment in 2 weeks.

Other than a shocking side effects that almost sent me to the emergency room, I was back to normal. My second time here was to get an allergy test before they can formulate the serum for my allergy shot. Ok. This seems pretty simple. I followed the instructions to prepare my test. I didn't have to wait. The staff poked me a few times (about 82 times) and generated a report. Then, the doctor came in to explain the results and the next step. There were two options, daily drop under the tongue or weekly shots. I thought it was bothersome and expensive for daily dose, nearly $400 for 3 months. He said weekly shots are about the same price. Treatments would last 3 years or longer. I told him I can't do it now because I have some major events I need to attend. He said it would take time to formulate the serum anyway. I was happy that test was done with no side effects. But I am in pain for my wallet. Upon check out, I almost fall to the floor. They charged over $600, including copay for the test. I didn't get any warning. Ugh. I'm so upset and not going back again. I can't afford to get the shots, not even one drop. Tomorrow is the first, the rent needs to be paid. Update: a day later, I called my insurance company and asked them if this provider sent in my procedure for approval. The response was shocking. Nope. So, I removed another star.

Where to begin...well, I had been dealing with serious allergy issues this year (and have been for…read moremany many years), and decided to move forward attempting to correct allergy issues along with a deviated septum (had that for as long as I could remember). When I first visited Dr. K and his team in their Houston office, I immediately knew they were going to be a superstar team. Everyone in the office is kind, knowledgeable, and professional and they are just flat out great people! Dr. K first saw me back in March, and suggested that we start treating my severe allergies prior to tackling my deviated septum and other nose issues. I went through the allergy testing and learned I was allergic to EVERYTHING! haha but the team formulated my perfect blend of allergy drops and then I began feeling better and better as time went on. Sublingual Immunotherapy has clearly helped reduce my allergy symptoms to near zero and I feel GREAT now. Secondly, after getting my allergies in check, Dr. K felt that it was time to fix my nose issues. This required a turbinate reduction, balloon sinuplasty, and correction of my severely deviated septum. I decided to go under general anesthesia to complete the whole procedure and I can safely say, that it was 100% effective. I cannot remember the last time I breathed so freely. The surgery was definitely one of the best decisions of my life, and I sleep so much better at night with no snoring and fewer sleep disturbances at night (my partner loves this haha). I had heard horror stories about how the post op phase post nasal surgery could be extremely uncomfortable, yet that's the best part about Dr. K's recommendations. THERE WAS NO NASAL PACKING! I can honestly say that there was extremely minimal discomfort post surgery, and that I felt right back to normal in about 5 days. To be honest, only on days 3-4 post surgery did I feel any fatigue/minor discomfort. But the best part was the feeling of being able to breathe because there was no nasal packing. My first visit with Dr. Chang was to determine if I was a candidate for bone conductive hearing system. The hearing test results showed I was definitely a candidate. The discussion proceeded to what type of bone conductive hearing system I would prefer and I chose the Cochlear Osia. Dr. Chang provided me with a Texas ENT Specialist web address https://www.texasent.com/hearing/implantable-hearing-devices/osia-implant/. The website was information about how does the Osia work. The site has three pictures with figure 1 showing the hearing processor and implant, figure 2 showing the placement of the implant and where the hearing processor sits, and figure 3 describing where the hearing processor sits. Well.....when having the hearing processor activate, I find the hearing processor sits very close to the top of my head putting the implant above my ear. When I questioned Dr. Chang why, he gave me three different answers. The first response did not answer my question as he only gave me a generic respond with no medical reason. The next two responses really caused me to question his ethics. The second response was most people have problems with the recommended placement, so I use an alternative placement. Dr. Chang did not discuss his alternative placement with me; ethic problem one not considering esthetics. The third response was I do not discuss placement; ethic problem two not discussing the surgery. Day after activation I started to experience issues as dizziness, pain, discomfort, headaches, like an electrical current following through my brain and finally a burning sensation. The implant may take time to settle in place, so I waited. When the burning sensation occurred, I contacted Dr. Chang. Dr. Chang office contacted me for an appointment. The first date conflicted with my wife's eye appointment. Her eye appointment takes prescient. The next date is a month later. I asked can they find someone to take the original date to give me an earlier date. The response was Dr. Change is booked up until the month later date; ethic problem three compassionless. For the second response, most people have problems with the recommended placement, I contacted Cochlear and was informed they have no record for the problem; ethic problem four untruthful. In my research I found, yes, the implant may be placed above the ear, but the recommendation is NO because of known issues like mine. Now I'm in the process to have the Cochlear OSI300I implant removed and the earliest Dr. Chang cannot see me to discuss the surgery for 2 1/2 weeks after an office visit to discuss the implant removed. He is not taking my condition seriously. He caused the problem by not following Cochlear recommendation placement of the OSI300 implant, but did his own thing without telling me. I ask how can you trust a doctor who violates professional code of ethics and does whatever he wants without consulting the patient?
