I recently had Memory Fortress turn 35 mm negatives into digital pictures. The quality of the pictures I received back was an A+. I am very pleased in that regard. The lower ranking is because around 85 negatives were missed in that they were never digitized. I didn't receive those pictures. They were scattered throughout the job so it wasn't like a strip of negatives was missed. It was one here and there. Luckily I wasn't charged for these, but it is disappointing that so many were missed. With this being said, would I use Memory Fortress again? Yes, I would. read more

I used Memory Fortress to digitize over 300 various size photos and seven VHS tapes. The process was simple. I organized my photos into zip lock bags and taped a label with the "folder" name for photo subject categories. Memory Fortress returned a 32 GB flash drive that contained my "folders." Each digital photo has a number, so I had to rename all of them. I am very happy with the quality of the digital images and the DVD copies of the VHS tapes. They returned ALL of my photos and VHS tapes. I paid about $315 for everything. Highly recommend. read more

Keith Osbon did a monumental task for me! I had at least 30 years with 15 carousels of family slides that he helped organize and digitalize. He was available and responsive by phone to educate and assist me, and responded quickly to any questions. The job was done in a timely manner. Keith was up front with fees, responsible, and reliable. The personal contact and excellent customer service were extremely important to me. I switched from another company because it was corporate, impersonal, with poor customer service. I plan to call Mr. Osbon again to see if he can assist me again, since I'm further along in my downsizing project. I highly recommend Memory Fortress. read more

They claim to be experts at digitizing VHS Tapes. I gave them a tape to digitize and they said they couldn't grit to play and gave it back. I took it to Video Innovation and they not only were able to digitize the tape but they also "baked" it and made it clearer. Save your time and money when it comes to Memory Fortress. read more

So I dropped off 8 photo albums. I WASN'T informed of how the project would be priced so I was expecting some form of follow-up regarding total photo count along with the scan type as well as resolution options. After around 3 weeks I received an invoice for $700.00. The breakout on the invoice was high format scanning at high resolution (600 dpi) priced at 345 photos x $1.99 per scan. So I called MF to ask why didn't anyone call me to discuss photo resolution options as well as large format scanning (which apparently cost more). The response was (WE dropped the ball) so from a customer perspective I was expecting some form of resolution regarding pricing, but rather than go down that road (because I'll assume that someone put in a little work to complete the project) I was basically told that I can come and pick up my photo albums (which I did). So I'll put my business owner hat on, you're the customer, Owner: sir/madam what can we do because we failed to follow-up. (WE DROPPED THE BALL!) Customer: well the project really looks great, can you take %20 off the invoice because we would like to have 16 more albums scanned? Owner: sure that sounds fair and again sorry for the breakdown in communication. But rather than acknowledge that they would rather delete the entire project and just keep it moving... read more

Memory Fortress did an excellent job converting my family videos from VHS to digital format. The owner, Keith Osbon, actually answered all of my questions beforehand over the telephone. He and his team managed to convert many hours of video across 13 tapes into digitized format in less than 5 days from their arrival at his facility. Within just a few days of sending my tapes to them, I had every VHS sent back to me with DVDs, a flash drive, and a hand written note thanking me for my purchase. Memory Fortress has taken on the monumental task of digitizing my 88-year-old father's print pictures. They have done the best job of preserving our memories and breaking them out to individual flash drives. This has given my dad so much happiness, which in turn makes me incredibly happy. They do excellent work, and work with their customers to meet their exacting demands. (I know my dad; I know how demanding he is! Just the fact that they continue to work with him speaks volumes about their ability to work with the most difficult and demanding customers!) I found the person I worked with at Memory Fortress very helpful. Sending my photos in and getting them back was simple. Sadly, most of the photos had either one red line, or two, down the photos images. It seemed to be a scanner problem. I emailed and asked about the matter, and, with no apology, was told to mail them back at my own expense, and they would redo it. The representative simply agreed that it was likely a scanner problem. I asked about compensation for the 2nd mailing, and was told this would be provided. I sent the photos in a 2nd time, and received them back. About half of the newer scanned images had the red single line or double line down them. I emailed Memory Fortress back to let them know of my disappointment, and about 3 weeks later, I have not received a reply. I just wrote again to ask for a refund. There was also no offer of compensation for the 2nd mailing. I am very dissatisfied with this company. They don't seem to review their work before sending it, and don't apologize or compensate for problems caused by their scanner. read more

I was looking for a company to scan my photos and negatives from the last 25 plus years. They had been in boxes and bags, they had to be put in a usable way. I knew I would never get around to scrapbooking them. I contacted Keith at Memory Fortress and I can't say enough great things about him and the company. He walked me through the whole process step by step and it was easy with their help. They put almost 5000 images on a flash drive for me, all under the folder names I gave them to help organize the years and events. They made me a flash drive for each of my children to have as well. I was a little worried to let go of a shoe box full of my kids' old pictures, but I know I needed to convert them to a digital format. I'm talking about pictures that are 28 to 60 years old.
