We had come here at around 1:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. The place wasn't too busy at the time however, there was a large party of about 15 people at the table behind us; it looked to be some sort of a work function. We were seated on the second level in a booth, which had the large window opened all of the way. There were three children and two adults in our party therefore, we were given both children and adult menus to order from. My son settled on the chicken fingers with fries, while my daughter chose the hamburger with fries. I decided on the avocado dip with nachos, although the dip wasn't really a dip, as it was chunkier than I had liked. The food took about 15 minutes to arrive, which wasn't too long however, the kids were a tad restless having to wait. Both of my children's dishes had a large amount of fries, with only a small amount of chicken strips and hamburger. My avocado dip had an overflow of nachos, yet not a lot of avocado. It also had too much onion, which made the dish taste strong. The service was good throughout our entire stay, with the server checking on us periodically to make sure that we were okay. The food was mediocre, and definitely not worth the price that we had paid. Overall, would most likely not return to this restaurant. To be honest, we only dined here as it was the closest to the movie theatre that we were at therefore, it wasn't our first choice initially. read more

Came here for dinner and decided to share a burger because they seemed big. The menu is extensive and it took us a while to settle on a choice. We finally decided and got the Nacho burger and as a side we upgraded to the premium poutine. The burger was good. Not the best in the world but definitely well done and tasty. The poutine side was huge! Having just the 1 burger and 1 side left us both feeling full and satisfied. The service was quick and the server was incredibly friendly and nice. Unfortunately restaurants are closed for indoor dining at this time. So i couldn't have the full experience of what this awesome bistro offers. It was my first time trying the gourmet burgers from this franchise. The burger was grilled to perfection and yo my desired level of done. The caramelized onions were sweet and yummy which went well with the bbq sauce. Also the portion was a little small but I guess the fries are expensive to acquire. The sweet potato fries were good too and would probably better if i could have them fresh out of the fryer. The aioli sauce was pretty good. Had a good experience at the restaurant in Kitchener and wanted to come back. Ordered "Taste of Heaven" and an order of Onion Rings on the side. The burger was good. The burger didn't taste gamey, which something I didn't want to experience. Other than the patty, it also had bacons and onion in it. Overall, it's not bad. The onion ring had a crispy crust but seems like they were over cooked a bit because they were in dark brown. Luckily they were not burnt yet. Other than the food, the waitress was friendly and offered good customer service. The only negative comment I have is the restaurant has an unpleasant smell and there were flies flying around near where I sat. Not a pleasant atmosphere. read more

We ordered a couple of burgers from this place with onion rings and poutine. It's a little pricey with most burgers over $12. And, they like to charge you extra for all kinds of things, it's just crazy how they nickel and dime you here. The poutine was okay, but did not have any cheese curds, it looked like mozzarella. UPDATE: The Works does not take reservations, but when I phoned to see if they could seat 15 people, they said that seating is on a first-come-first-serve basis, but they would do everything they could to accommodate us. I said we would need five high chairs, and the guy on the other end of the phone said "No problem." When we showed up the next day, they were happy to fit in our group, but the guy at the door asked me who told us that they have five high chairs, because they didn't. Of course, I didn't have a name. No worries, he said cheerfully, they would manage. (Excellent way to handle the situation!) They borrowed a high chair from another restaurant and fit us all in - we had a great time. Despite the size of our group, the service was great. As always, I liked that I can order healthy sides (like steamed broccoli), while others in our group enjoyed the fries and bacon-wrapped cheese tots. Our California relatives enjoyed the varieties of interesting burgers and sides, and the five toddlers enjoyed their meals. read more

I would love to return to this restaurant on a day when I am feeling more adventurous and not counting calories. Just reading the variety of burger topping combos they offer makes me excited for my next visit! They are definitely creative here and offer some interesting options for those who'd like to take a risk. My friend ordered a burger with peanut butter and bacon on it -- she gave it a thumbs up. I also like that they have a variety of sides to choose from in addition to some interesting mayo flavours. I ordered a veggie burger and honestly could've left out the gluten-free bun because the burger patty was huge and very filling. Amazing place to get some burger around downtown Burlington. Went there to grab some dinner and it was great. Place was little empty, but people started coming afterwards. I liked their decorations and their styles. Ordered the Six Degree of K'vin Bacon with poutine as a side and a Moosehead lager. Food took some times to come out, but it was worth the wait. So glad we finally tried this place! Burlington location (been meaning to for a couple of years) During this COVID shut down we've been ordering delivery much more and decided to try it. Best burger we have ever had no lie. Totally customizable, from toppings, patty and bun. We have ordered twice now and our food has been hot and delicious. Awwwwwwweeessommmmmeeeee.... I was somewhat hungover with a long drive back to NY in front of me and I knew that what I needed was a burger and fries. Well... I decided on The Works and I was super impressed. The best part (for us vegetarians) is the veggie burger. Its a huge "beefy" (for lack of a better word) patty that seems to be mostly protein. The flavor profile is relatively neutral which means you can select any of the dozens of topping combos and it won't be weird. The space itself is dressed up with theming that was ALMOST too much, but not so much that it was off-putting. Think dark colors and corrugated metal sheeting. The service staff was wonderful! Helpful, attentive, and seemed like everyone was happy to be there. Overall it was just a great experience and I'm sad we don't have one in NYC. read more

Surprisingly Good! I was in Burlington and wasnt sure what to eat and really you cant mess up a burger so I went here. I got a burger stuffed with pulled pork with chipotle ketchup and cheese, it was great. The fries were good as well. The entire concept behind this place is casual and the wait staff is friendly. My entire meal came out to about $23 which isnt bad seeing as people are giving places like Burger Priest rave reviews for selling JUST a burger for $20 i think this place is a great deal and in a great location. read more

This place is really great. It was our first time here and the staff were super friendly and very helpful in explaining the menu and choices. The burgers are also very tasty. Most people will likely order a beef burger but since I don't eat beef I was very glad to see that they had other options like chicken, turkey, even veggie. I had the chicken breast with the Tidball Baker toppings and since the burgers come with a side of your choice I had the spicy die-cut chips with tzakizi dip. It was delicious. As for the atmosphere the restaurant was dim lit but it wasn't so dark you couldn't see anything, so I was okay with it. Our drinks were served in measuring cups which I think is super cool and goes well with their casual rustic theme. Plus I noticed that the salt and pepper were in light bulbs, which is very creative. Also the food comes in a metal tray instead of plates which again goes well with their theme. One little hiccup is that the burgers do take 20 mins to arrive (our waiter notified us of this) but it's worth it when it does. The Works is a restaurant that at one point I really enjoyed, about a year ago I dined here and was impressed enough to recommend it to friends & family. Most people seemed to enjoy it however I started to hear mixed reviews from people starting a couple of months ago. Today (11/27/2014) I ate here and my experience was rather poor, mostly because of the issues with the food which I will outline below. Issues - Overcooked Burger, both myself and my uncle had different burgers, I had a garlic sauce type burger and he had a blue cheese burger. Both of them were overcooked, I wasn't able to see his personally but I'll take his word for it. My burger was cooked to the point where the pink that the waitress mentioned in her serving introduction wasn't actually present until I got into the dead center of the burger. It was a medium to almost medium well done burger. - Hair in food, I pointed it out to my uncle while eating, I won't send something back if it's on the outside of the food (bun, etc) which it was. I typically won't send something back unless I find two or more hairs, if that happens I'll simple leave and not pay. Luckily there was only one that I saw in my food. - Spicy Chips, half of the side order that came with my meal was inedible, it wasn't an issue with being soggy it was quite literally an uncooked slice of potato that was unbelievably chewy. Upon pointing this out I was greeted with an excuse by our waitress, she mentioned that it happens when they sit around for too long. Because I didn't want to cause a scene I didn't argue with her, I cooked in a few local restaurants and currently butcher seafood for a living. What I experienced was a raw potato that wasn't cooked long enough for the thickness of it. - Burgers not coming with Lettuce, Pickles, Tomatoes, for $15 I expect these to be included with my burger, fortunately for me it was, unfortunately for my uncle it wasn't included and as a result he had to send his food back to get his burger completed. As I previously stated for the price that is being charged ($15) these toppings should absolutely be included as the product we received is definitely not costing anything more than several dollars to prepare. Having come to this conclusion I believe that the prices here are far to expensive for the quality of food being presented to customers. ---- When you consider all of these issues I cannot in my right mind recommend anyone I know to go eat here, it was a rather poor experience and is a completely opposite experience to what I originally had when The Works was newer. Whether or not this is a change of staff or due to cutting costs I do not know but I believe that if this trend continues The Works won't last long in Burlington as more and more people have poor experiences. read more

The girls seated next to my 6 & 10 year old could have taught some rappers how to really use the f bomb, add in the guy waiter ( took over for the nice girl who waited on us, Nancy she was great ) who new them and considered getting off early so they could all start drinking immediately because " I'm not really doing anything " .... any way $62.12 for dinner and a show I guess. I've been here quite often though I'd rather go for take out. It is noisy and claustrophobic feeling so if you aren't in the mood for the hustle and bustle get your food to go. All of the burgers that I've tried are great, even the ones that have peanut butter in them. They have any type of burger you could think of and are open to suggestions. The milkshakes are great too, but super filling! For a side i would recommend the spicy die cut chips or fries. The coleslaw was not very good when i tried it. Prompt service with friendly hostess taking down our name and the 30 minute wait was more like 20 min, yippee! Ordered screaming goat wrap and the full Mountie (basically a heart attack inducing poutine on a burger). Onion rings were very crisp and tasty. I have to give them that much! My wrap was cold and merely ok even though it had grill marks on it. The balsamic veggies didn't scream balsamic. The wrap didn't scream anything.... The burger was good as per my hubby. Checked this place out based on the reviews after a quick check in local eateries in Burlington. I can say I am still full after 12 hours. This is a gluttonous amount of food and refuse to try and figure out the calories I ate. Anyway, ordered the p.i.g burger with the appetizer of onion ring stack. Total bill was about $60 for two of us with no alcohol so be prepared to take out a small loan against your newer model car to pay for your meal. read more

When we are willing to splurge a little for our family of four to go out for dinner, The Works is one of our favourite choices. It's a bit pricey, but the burgers are totally worth it. We have two teenage boys - so the unlimited fries are awesome! One son is gluten-free, but is quite picky about GF burger buns - generally he'll order a chicken burger and toss the bun! - but the GF buns at The Works are definite hit with him. Only complaint is that, even with super-tasty burgers, the prices are on the high side - it is, after all, just a ground beef and a bun. read more
