Wow. I got yelp to literally review this -I don't even know where to begin. Several months ago I ordered one piece of wood successfully on the Menards website. I got to the store and after dealing with three different incompetent employees, they couldn't find it -so I told them to just cancel the order. They said they couldn't do it at the lumberyard and sent me to the front. The cashier told me I can cancel it but I would be charged for restocking fee ( mind you this is the product THEY lost somewhere and I literally never had). I asked to talk to the manager who told me it's too bad and I can call corporate because it's their system. FYI- you can't call corporate. Had to make a whole scene. I then walked and tried to order siding only to have to explain to their workers how to use their own website. They were looking at an entirely wrong product on the website and I had to show them how to navigate to the correct one. I'll save you some time- just look online. Dont talk to their unhelpful employees It's quicker, if that's all they're gonna do. What a waste of time. I then went to the paint counter in hopes to get exterior paint. I quickly talked with the worker and asked which exterior paints were best, and he just pointed to each of the ones and said "well this one says it's exterior." ... thank you I can read. Again short and rude and unhelpful. I told him I was wanting to order sample. I looked around for a while, and then when I went to actually get it, he said "oh we don't have exterior paint samples." Lead with that. It was my fault that I gave them one last shot in ordering siding. I successfully ordered it online, waited three weeks, and got a email notification that it was ready to be picked up. Sent my spouse to go get it, and guess what, another fiasco. This order also couldn't be located by the employees and apparently didn't come in and had been mislabeled. They had five other pieces of it and tried to say that was our order (I had ordered 11 pieces...) Honestly, I don't want to make this review too long, but essentially he had to fight that it was the wrong item, they wanted to charge him restocking fees. When he went out to the car to call me and ask my opinion and went back in to go ahead and buy the 5 pieces they had they wouldn't let him because "they already cancelled it". What a mess. Incompetence is one thing but the customer service is horrendous. They should be embarrassed. Run do not walk away from this Menards. Yes Their products are fine, but there is no "corporate" you can call so they can just be jerks, and unhelpful, with no repercussions. Unless you want to be charged for horrible service and being talked down to, do not go near this Menards. read more

Bought an $80 shower piece it was missing a an important piece and they're refused to return it because it was bought on clearance and in the tiniest print ever it says "as is " the print should be bigger or I should get my money back . Scammer for sure. I spent over 4,000 here in a trip and I regret every penny.! read more

The Menards in Muncie, IN is the worst store I have ever shopped. I will never shop there again due to the poor customer service received by the check-out clerk and on through to the "Assistant General Manger - Bryan Collier. Bryan has no business working with the public or even in a management type roll. Extremely Pathetic! The Team leader or whatever he was needs fired immediately. Both had no understanding of the credit card process & thought they could double charge my card. In summary, I paid for my purchase using a credit card. All went well with the transaction and the card machine stated - " Approved please remove the card". At that point, I questioned why I received no receipt. I could have left but was hoping for the mail in rebate that is on the receipt. With no receipt, the clerk mentioned I need to run your card again. I looked on my cc app & the purchase was pending. I refused to run the card again with no help from mgmt. They were adamant that I would not get charged 2x but I already provided evidence of being charged through the app. Bottom line they kept the merchandise and would not provide any additional documentation of the questionable transaction. Alright, Menards, you win. We first visited Lowe's, and I thought I'd find what I was looking for there. No one was nearby to help. And when we went to ask a worker for help, she told us to go to that department to find someone. riiiiiiight. So we left, headed to Anna's BELOVED Menards and found an off-brand version of what I was looking for that does the same exact thing I found online. And we were pointed in precise location by a worker walking the floor. I always thought I was a "Lowe's" person. (We don't have a Home Depot here). But as for local shops like this, consider me converted to a Menards fan. read more

The adventures of buying a refrigerator from Menard's After waiting several ( several several ) weeks for our new refrigerator was delivered. Upon arrival we were asked by the delivery man why wasn't our doors off the hinges ? Not being a Tim the Toolman Taylor type I asked him why do I have to have my doors off the hinges ? I was promptly informed "For liability reasons". I then asked him how long it would take to hook up the water line for the icemaker and water in the door feature. His response was "We do not do that there is an extra charge for that " Then I asked him if he could put the old refrigerator in the garage so it could be picked up by someone tomorrow. He say "There will be a $15.00 fee for that". I asked him if that was a liability deal also ? He said "Yes". I then asked him what the $ 89.00 was I paid for ? He said that was for delivery to your house. Then he started to get the refrigerator off the truck and he informed me that there was a dent in the side of the unit. So next I called Menard's and talked to a young lady there about the dent. He response was "OK?". I then asked her what the was going to do about this ? She said order a new unit. I asked to talk with her supervisor. The supervisor informed me that they would take $95.00 off the unit. Then the delivery guy came in and said "There is a crease in the side also". I then told the Supervisor to send us a new unit. That was when the supervisor asked if I had bought the icemaker kit ? I then informed him I thought the ice maker was already in the door of the unit. He said a kit was necessary and it ran an additional $49.00. I then informed the Supervisor that all was needed was a plastic water line that was already there attached to our other unit we already had and that line would fit the new refrigerator. It was then the Supervisor said "Oh yeah your right I see that now". Then he informed me that I still had to purchase a new line ( I had replaced the old line less than 3 months ago, and it had worked for over 14 years ). He said that the new plastic line would be about $10.00. And it needed to be replaced for ( wait for it......... wait for it ........ ) liability reasons. I schooled the Supervisor ( who I later found out he had the job for less than 4 months ) on customer service, After about 5 minutes the Supervisor stated that he was extremely sorry for our inconvenience but there was nothing he could do. Funny how mentioning Lowe's changed his mind. Expedite for the new refrigerator ....... no charge on the new hose and no charge on any of the additional hook up hardware. Where has all the customer service gone to ? We only have the service industry to rely upon now that we lost our manufacturing base. And now we are in danger of losing that. It almost made me wishing it could have been outsourced to India .... I said almost. read more

We are frequent shoppers here, they usually always have what we need. If there's any problems with our purchases they have a hassle free return policy. With the technology to reprint receipts in case the original has been misplaced. The employees generally are knowledgeable in their appointed areas of expertise.... I ordered a new bathroom vanity and marble vanity top from Menards in Muncie, Indiana. I had to rent a truck to pick up items due to size. I get to Menards, and they couldn't find my order, after 20 minutes they told me it was catalogued wrong, no big deal! I get my items home and unboxed them, my vanity support brace was cracked in half and my MARBLE vanity top had busted chunks out of it. I emailed customer service basically to be told after 90 days I can't return, keep in mind it's only been 3days after purchase. So, I called Menards and was basically told I can pay to rent a truck from them to bring back damaged items that they just sold me. I am utterly disappointed with Menards. I am so angry and frustrated that, I want to return all my items and shop elsewhere!! read more

I am a dedicated Lowes shopper...and, honestly, Lowes has better prices on most items that I've been able to compare apples to apples. However, Menards has a lot of things that Lowes doesn't...and then they also have sale items that a phenomenal deals. I wish, wish, wish that Menards offered a MILITARY DISCOUNT like Lowes does. Lowes wins 98% of my business because of the discount. Menards is just not my "go to" store because of this issue. They are my "let's see if they have it since Lowes doesn't" store. And they are my "I have to kill 30 minutes before an appointment so I'll stroll through Menards" store. In the past year, I've spent over $6000 at Lowes and less than $100 at Menards. spent time last evening at menards, muncie, in the appliance/cabinet department. for 3 years i've looked for some type of framing for my microwave. we used our cabinet top microwave and built it into our cabinet, above our gas oven. when it quit working, i looked and looked for one to "fit the hole" we had created. i did find one but eventually that one quit working too. so, i shopped for another to fit the spot. i purchased two different microwaves that, based on the dimensions on the box, were perfect. the first one was so hard to get out of the box that i destroyed the box and felt like i couldn't take it back when it wasn't even close to the measurements on the box. my grandson got that one. i purchased a second one based on the measurements on the box, which if accurate were perfect to fit the space. however, it's 4" too big width and height. i'm using it anyway to try to get by until i can find one that actually fits. it ain't pretty but it cooks anyway, in the search i spent last evening in menards. a lovely lady named beth went above and beyond doing measurements, finding items in catalogs, checking online, even at amazon, and finding a "frame kit" that we thought might work on my microwave. sorry to say it wont, but she was a huge improvement on many service personel in muncie stores. i told her she isn't being paid enough because these days sooooo many places are begging for employees. you can find them but they won't work for long because if they make too much money they'll lose the free stuff the government gives them. if you go to menards to shop for cabinets or appliances......ask for beth! she's phenominal! and she'll do all she can to take care of what you need from menards! read more

Just left this store and I used to work retail, they were very rude. When I went in there was 3 girls behind the counter at the service desk and 2 guys standing on the outside of the desk. Two of the girls were waiting on people the one finished and then proceeded to help the other girl and the rest left. The man they were waiting on didn't even know if he bought the stuff he was returning there. The one girl proceeded to check the computer and the other just stood there looking at him and me. In the mean time he got on his phone and was arguing with some about whether they bought the stuff there. The whole time I'm just standing there wanting to exchange a propane tank because your matchine outside was not working. They never acknowledged me or attempted to help me so after 15 minutes of standing there I went to Walmart and exchanged my tank. As a company that prides itself on customer satisfaction you should be ashamed of yourselves. My car was damaged in YOUR parking lot and YOUR on duty manager admitted fault and told my husband to get the vehicle fixed, bring in the receipt and Menards would reimburse us. Unfortunately, that ended up not being the case and now we are out that money. Not only is it unfortunate we are out money we shouldn't have been, but the lack of customer service we received, especially from Ralph is appalling. You have lost a loyal customer who just so happens to be remodeling a house. To future Menards customers, do yourself a favor and go to Lowes instead. read more
