I like the location of this business and the people are helpful. However, the prices are ridiculous. Case in point. Both Lowe's and Home Depot have ten flags for marking your yard for 2.30. You will pay twice as much for a cheaper product at Ace. We want to help local businesses but this is outrageous. Another example. Replacement parts for Weber grill is over $50!! Stop it!! A little more is worth the closer store but not twice as much!! read more

Ok- i use this store a lot for odd and ends I need to pick up- and nearly everything they sell- is great... but I would avoid the paInt.. we brought in a piece of our dining room wall to color match.. it was 2x2. They "color matched it-" when we said that is not the same color we showed them the sample again they said- it is what it is- put it on the wall to see.. on the can it won't dry the same color as it will on the wall. so we tried it... now we have to repaint the whole wall and likely room.. when we showed the people at ace they said- yeah we don't always get good results. Need us to make you a gallon so you can do the full room? I feel like this was a bit of a scam to sell me more paint.. but the people there are so nice I cant imagine then doing that. I am disappointed in how they knew the color was not right and didn't try to do fix it. I would Not use thrm for paint again. read more

Went in to get propane refilled and Wyatt the cashier was walking away as I approached the register and when he saw me he got upset and complained about customers coming in. I asked him if he wanted me to leave and he said "if you want to." I replied, "are you fucking kidding me right now?" Then he takes forever to ring me up for propane and when he says all you guys can do is a replacement I ask the price difference and he proceeds to attempt to tell me the difference between a refill and an exchange like I didn't know. I just wanted to know the price difference. If you don't want customers, close your location down. Wild concept, but customers are why you are able to keep a business open. Went to this location this past weekend with the intent to buy a particular mower. When I asked for help, I was greeted by a wonderful young employee that helped me make my decision. The employee, sorry I forgot his name, was very knowledgeable about lawn care equipment. He even helped me get the mower to my car. All employees are very helpful there. I recently had the opportunity to visit the Great Lakes Ace Hardware store. I went there because I visited another Ace store that did not have the grill I was looking for. Not long after I entered the store I asked a customer service rep if someone was able to assist me. Soon I was greeted by Parker who I later found out was the manager. He greeted me professionally and with a smile. I told him I was looking for a 335 Weber grill but could not find it in the inventory. He responded that there was one left that I had overlooked. I was shocked but happy at the same time. I told him I would call my wife because I was looking for another color. I took a picture and sent it to her to review. She liked it and recommended that I purchase it. I then asked Parker how long it would take to deliver the grill and he replied that Friday would be the earliest. He then directed me to go to the cashier and he would meet me there. After I paid for the grill he directed me to the info desk to gather my personal information for delivery. He stated that he had a few other deliveries and could slide me in for delivery today at 2pm. I was amazed and happy that he revised the schedule to fit me in the same day for delivery. I have purchased numerous items over the years and have never received an item the same day of purchase. Needless to say I was overjoyed and more importantly to my surprise Parker ended up delivering the grill himself. My time in the store counting picking out the grill was 15 minutes tops. A big shout out to Parker and all the associates that were professional in assisting meet with the purchase of the grill. I am glad to know that superior customer of this type still exists. This is a great helpful hardware store. The people who work here are generally very knowledgeable about a wide variety of topics. They carry Benjamin Moore paint and all the tools that go with painting. They have a long aisle with every imaginable bolt, fastener, in every imaginable size. And there's always someone to help you find what you need. Lumber, plumbing, electrical, outdoor stuff. And because the of size of the store, the parking lot and the ready help it is possible to get in and out quickly. read more

I always like going to my local ACE in Fishers on Olio but recently, when I went there, nobody wore masks and one of the employees breathed right into my face when walking by and talking at me at the same time. I would feel a lot safer if they wore masks. I emailed them about that and never got a reply. read more

Terrible return policy!!! and terrible store. If the owner cared about Covid 19 safety he would make employees wear masks not take it out on customers and make them hold returns for weeks. That serves no purpose. After I return my unused products I will never shop there again. read more

The last three times I have been in the store the price has rung up wrong on the item I was purchasing. The manager happened to be standing there and I said to him "You really need to do a better job making sure the prices displayed match what the item rings up for as you check out. I shared with him that this has happened the two previous times I was here. His response was "It is not our fault it is corporate!" I asked him "Aren't you the manager?" he said "Yes!" I then said it is your responsibility to make sure that your prices you display match what is sent to you and is in the registers. He said "We are giving you a refund!" I told him "I shouldn't have to watch the prices on the register to ask you for the refund!" He was rather defensive and said "Didn't you hear me I said it was corporate's fault!" I was not happy with his responses and said back "Didn't you hear me? You are the manager here it IS your responsibility!" He rather disgustingly walked off in a huff! My thoughts here are: Yes, it is only $.50 - $.75 each time but it is more of the principle of the issue. Charge the prices that are displayed. They already charge 50% - 100% more that the big box hardware stores. read more

Because I got a response from the owner I decided to try the store again. Again the cashiers wore masks but the sales guys wore them on their chins, hanging from their ears or under their noses. Customers all wore their masks. I had to go looking on my own for what I wanted as they stood in a group all talking. Terrible service. They could have half the staff there and do better. read more

Over the past two day's I have been to this Ace 3 times. This morning was by far my best experience/ however each time has been wonderful. It is worth noting that this is significantly further than the ace that is closer to where I live, but I didn't want anyone else helping me except for these fine people. Matching paint has been more than frustrating, but this morning I worked with Gregg and I can't say enough good things. He was kind, he was funny, professional, and an expert. After the several failed attempts I've had, he worked with me to get the perfect color. I am absolutely amazed! What a wonderful start to my Friday morning. This could not have been done without the help of Patrick the night before that told me to come back in the morning and the supervisor yesterday afternoon that told me we won't stop until we get this color right. John in the paint department is awesome! He gave us the best customer service and was so sweet and fun to talk to. I wish I could talk to him all day! He definitely knows his stuff, too. Terrible customer service. I rented a carpet cleaner here. Upon returning it they told me it wasn't clean enough (I was not informed of the proper way to clean it when I rented it). I took it back home and found cat hair all inside it, its funny since we have never had a cat in our house. The first room I cleaned had black hair balls falling out on our carpet. It clearly wasn't clean when I rented it but they certainly had no issue calling me out when I returned it. I may have caught this guy on a bad day, but I'll never go back to this Ace Hardware. read more
