***Addendum - I wanted to come back on here and add that on Monday and Tuesday the following week after all this happened, I received several calls and emails from Menards. They made a special trip to another store (several miles away) to get the pavers I ordered and brought them back to the store I was supposed to pick them up from to begin with. They informed me they would be held (so no one else buys them) at the customer pick up desk in the yard. They informed me there would be no charge so I wanted to come on here and change my rating (from 1 to 3 stars) and inform yelpers that Menards did attempt and followed through making this experience much more pleasant than it was last Thursday. For that, I thank them... ################## Ordered pavers online. Said they had 40 of them. Email told me to "Hurry, my order is ready to be picked up" so I rush in.... After searching their yard for an hour trying to locate pavers I had ordered I asked fork lift driver to help me find. Off he goes circling yard for 20 minutes to come back and say.... "I can't find them either"... Contacted their "customer service" to see if they were willing to acknowledge their screw up and make it right. (Since I drove 30 miles to get there, 30 miles back, took 1/2 day off work). NOPE, not a word. Not a we're sorry we led you on a goose chase, not even an acknowledgement I existed...... I wouldn't treat an enemy as poorly as this company seems to treat their customers. read more

I love this place when we visit Milan Ohio we always swing by and check the store out. I would be trouble if y'all build one near me. Lol

My parents ordered front and screen doors for my trailer. We took many measurements of the doors and door jams. When my parents went to order the doors they gave measurements. When we got the doors that's all we got was the doors no door jams, then when my contractor went to install one door wax to wide and the other was to short. What should have been a one day job took two.my door handles are opposite of each other because he had to flip a door. The screen door is not level. Everything was right on the paper work measurements and all but someone doesn't know how to do their job. I do not recommend buying doors from them read more

i had an order pick up. never ever will i do this again. not so sure if i will shop in menards again. i had to walk to the back of the store(i am handicap) it is hard for me to walk. my items were placed in my cart. then i had to walk back up front go through the register line just to hand a receipt to the cashier to leave the store. walk to my vehicle and load the bags myself(i am 66 years old) was not asked if i needed help. each bag was 40 pounds. had two bags. when you are 66, 40 pounds is heavy. especially when the bags are laying flat in the cart, you're short and can hardly reach them. not very good customer service. a very dissatisfied customer!! read more

Oh my, what does this place want to be when it grows up? I went in not certain of what I'd find and walked out even more puzzled. Hardware next to fruit rollups next to appliances next to bug spray. It's like a giant Dollar store ... think Baby Huey if you're old enough to remember that comic book. Yeesh. read more

With only a few minutes left till closing I walked cluelessly through menards attempting to find a whole house humidifier filter. A manager Chris helped me locate what I was looking for without hesitation. It was freezing today and I turned the furnace off to replace the filter. I was so thankful to be able to get it before closing and home to get my furnace back up and running. Great job Sandusky Menards! read more

As we walked in not knowing what we exactly needed, Monique was the woman we asked for assistance. With her excellent training and experience she was able to help us find everything in less than ten minutes. This would have taken us forever to go search for! They have everything one could need for home work, but their front end is so wishy washy. Sometimes I have a super nice person, and sometimes I have the rudest people on earth. It was a three star, but I gave them a fourth because I am here often, and I have wasted SO much of their time brainstorming projects. Not intentionally, just thinking and planning. Future reviews will be more accurate of my individual experiences, this kind of wraps up the past 4 years of shopping here. read more

I have all three big box stores in town and I choose each depending on what I am looking for. This Menards has the best lumber selection hands down. I wouldn't give you two cents for their tool selection. Their cashiers are pleasant and the returns desk is nice to work with. I see many people returning things and have no patience for what the procedures that must be followed are. The store is always clean and bright and well stocked. Its my " go to" big box store. read more

my experience was nothing short of aweful. i was so extremely happy to finally, be there. to buy the things i, needed to finish my kitchen. one, young man did help me. answered a ?. then never seen again. not sure what i needed, looked @ this & that. asking... hello???? nope. but, going back to previous aisle.... hook & tackle!!!! my shoe ripped open !!! my body slammed!!! lt knee, rt wrist. with all the cameras.. someone, had to see!!! i was on the ground in tears. sucked it up ...still bought my zip ties, which q customer helped with& also asked if i were ok... not staff!!! checkout, lady... nice even helpful. told her what happened, keeping the tears back & management comes to me with a bandaid... really??? just asked 4 a ice pack 2 help w/ sweeling replied, sorry... we have none. hmmm??? you sell them right? just aweful. so, knee throbbing, red& blue, wrist swollen yep. ice would have been nice. gas station helped with ice & swelling. heels & dress ... nope. thanks read more

With or without a mission, this place is just fun to walk around. Be careful though, spend too much time here and you'll leave with a long list of projects! Prices are good and staff is pretty knowledgeable and always helpful. For bigger stuff, I would still recommend shopping around. Chances are you'll find your best deal here but you might catch a better sale somewhere else depending on timing. read more

Am truly disappointed with the customer service with this place. Went there to purchase a water heater they had according to their website. Asked the gentleman working in the section and he confirmed they had it. Proceeded to write a purchase slip out. I went and paid for the item then went out back to pick it up. After a few minutes I was told that they actually do not have one. Said I would have to drive back around front the go to the service desk to get a refund. They said they had a short version for the same price. I explained that I came here for the tall one because their inventory online indicated their store had 2 tall ones. That a short one would cost me more to have installed. My thinking was they were going to offer some sort of discount because of their error, but nothing. I got the take it or leave it. I told them that I would rather spend my money at Lowe's where customers are treated better. I went to Lowe's and bought a short heater and actually spent a little more. But customer service is really important to me. Cannot recommend this place if you are looking for customer service. BTW their prices are higher than other home improvement store on a lot of items, despite their "rebate". read more

Cheap Prices, very poor quality and service. Was over charged twice over the Christmas shopping season. Filled complaint. Told the Mgr. would call me. He never did. Bought a exterior door and it started to rust in 3 months even though it had a storm door over it. I was told it was not their fault. I've gone back to Lowe's and Home Depot who both by the way give our military 10% discount everyday every year. Menards does not help our military. I shop for home improvements, building materials several times a month. Keep going to Menards and it will catch up to you..Sorry to have to say that but it is true. read more

Go here for all my projects and have always gotten great service and help. There was only once that I found a person couldn't get help from the person I asked but found someone right away. Even had a girl once go out of her way to help us and was great. I go there enough and get recognized by alot of them and enjoy going there. My dad likes this place so much that he drives 35 min to come here and go shopping. read more

Menards needs to train their employees to stay away from customers as much as possible. 6ft. social distancing guidelines are not being given any attention when it comes to the menards employees. they walk right up to customers, do not take alternate routes to avoid getting too close, they do not slow down when walking near a customer to allow customer to adjust to get out of their way. Way too many employees on the floor preforming duties during customer hours, while too few are running registers so customers can check out quickly and not stand in aisles, being approached repeatedly by employees and other customers because they are in the way of the main aisle. they should not be randomly walking right up to a customer who is shopping, get in their face and ask if they need help, when they didn't ask for help. I even had an employee reach across me while I was looking at something on a shelf, just to get something they wanted! Menards employees at the Sandusky store are reckless with customer safety. they congregate in groups and block aisles so customers have to try to find an aisle they aren't occupying. If there is so much that needs to be stocked, or whatever, do some of this at times the store is not open. and open up more registers to get the check out flowing. Help customers only when they ask for your help. And stop acting like because you're working, you need to bulldoze your way through a customer whose "just shopping" This store and it's management and employees all need new Covid=19 training, ASAP! get with it people, if you're going to be open for business, do it right. read more

First time in a Menards and was impressed with the size and cleanliness. Approached a sales person in Garden Dept. to inquire about a hose. Was treated so abruptly and rudely, I'll never return. read more

I tried to purchase a tabletop fire pit. They were out of stock and I tried to purchase the display and asked for a discount. The Manager said that he.would not give any discount and there was no box. I did not purchase but I did buy $200 worth of other merchandise. Disappointed in management. read more

Aside from the poor quality of most of the products, the Sandusky location management has a integrity problem. While having my truck loaded with some landscape block, the lift driver smashed my wheel wells. The manager took photos and made a report. Later I get a letter from their leagal department that says tough luck it was your fault for bringing your truck into the yard. Later I found out from a former employee that they covered up the whole thing because the manager was a good freind of the fork driver and didn't want him to get into trouble. Don't mess with a man's truck fellas. read more

Our church built a porch and ramp out of treated wood and wanted to stain it. We bought special mixed stain from Menards. Some of the members didn't like the color so we took it back to Menards to see if they could change the color. The manager of the paint dept. said they have 100% satisfaction guarantee and took the mixed paint back and mixed up a different color. The members were very happy with the new color. Most stores won't take back mixed paint or stain. Menards saved our church a lot of money. read more
