Normally I would turn them down, but he does have a good personality and I made the poor judgement to go off of his word & the 4 year warranty that he gave us. I was unable to inspect the driveway as it was clearly wet when we paid him, however aside from spraying the driveway, the large cracks were not filled in. The next day I immediately contacted him through email and he said he would be back out that weekend. He did not show. My next email he replied that he was on vacation and would come back to fix the cracks the following week - he did not show. I have since sent him 2 more emails with no response. I will be reaching out to a lawyer however, I felt it necessary to warn others.

We have contacted the company over 20 times to come back, which we were told they would be back out 4 times. They did not show on any of the dates they scheduled and we received no communication that they would not show and we had to keep contacting them to try to reschedule. We went through Home Advisers and commented on their site, which they replied that they have been back out 2 times - which is a BOLD FACED LIE. It seems like if they do a good job initially you are good, but if they do a poor job, they don't backup their work. STAY AWAY!!!!

I interviewed a few masonry companies for repairing spalling brick in my basement. Some wanted to…read moreparge the walls, which was not what I wanted. Some quoted me fairly high prices for the repair, but Martin Forde offered me the best, and most reasonable cost for the job. During our interview Martin struck me as a competent, and fair mason and he is responsive by email, which are valuable traits in a contractor. We scheduled the job, and he and his team showed up right on time. The first thing I learned is that Forde masonry may not have a full time staff. Martin definitely came out to my job periodically to deliver materials, but the masons who did the work were actually two latinos who seemed to be day laborers. They were competent, and very polite as I asked questions in my broken Spanish, but that makes accountability a little more difficult. That became a problem when I was in the basement with another contractor, and I saw one of the mason repairing a hole that was two withes thick. He was just repairing the outward face that I could see, but leaving a whole in the second layer. I asked him about it, so he dropped some mortar into the hole, a few bricks, and kept on with his repair. Yes, it visually looks fine and I would not have noticed if I were not watching as the hole was getting closed up, but that is not what I expect when I hire a professional mason to repair my walls. My job is done though, and I hopefully will not need masonry help for a while. Most of the issues I had are easily fixed with a little more attention to detail, and oversight, so I would encourage others to give Martin a chance if you need masonry help.

DeNisco Brothers Decorative Concrete - Crooked control joints

We hired Denisco Brothers to pour a 425 square foot stamped concrete patio behind our house for a…read moreprice of $6000, ($14 per square foot). After meeting with Mike Denisco he assured us that we would be getting a beautiful patio with a textured pattern and straight control cuts across the patio to help control cracking. While the texture on the patio looks nice, the control joints that were cut into the patio after the concrete hardened look terrible. The control joints should be straight lines but their cuts are wavy, crooked, and in one place it even looks like the saw started going off course and he backed it up and started again. The crooked lines ruined the aesthetic look of an otherwise beautiful patio. A mason should have no problem making straight control joints in concrete. The problem was that he did not do the control joints at the beginning so he cut into the patio with a saw after the concrete hardened. Needless to say the cutting was not straight and it looks like he had difficulty controlling the saw as he cut into the concrete. The final product is not what a customer should expect after paying a premium price. When I contacted Denisco about the cuts and sent him photos of the crooked lines his response was "The cuts are the cuts. Cutting into textured concrete is difficult but necessary for control. You'll never see them all alone again so just put your patio furniture on it and enjoy. Thanks." It's disappointing that he wouldn't stand behind his work and telling a customer to hide his work with patio furniture is ridiculous. Crooked control joints are not normal and it's not difficult to make straight control lines in a patio if they're done correctly. I hired Denisco thinking I would be getting high quality craftsmanship but unfortunately we're now stuck with a patio that is a real eyesore. I have an entire text message thread that confirms everything in this review. Very disappointed.

They showed up early everyday, were clean, courteous and professional. They completed the job as agreed upon and in a timely manner. We were thrilled that this worked out as we took a chance on this contractor who was unknown to us. We would use them again and recommend them to friends/family.
