I got my nose job done by John M. Menezes back in June 2022, I am partially to blame with my lack of research but he said he was able to give me the result I wanted but prior to the surgery he did no x rays no mock ups nothing!!! During surgery the right side of my nose almost collapsed due to one bone being shorter than the other which wouldn't have been a surprise if he would've taken the proper steps prior to surgery. 4 years later and I have no nasal bridge, my tip is protruding, and my nose is extremely crooked. After surgery there was 1 follow up to get my cast off and he never followed up after that. HIGHLY recommend rethinking your decision if you're thinking about going to John M. Menezes for a rhinoplasty. read more

I was accidentally shot in the face with a 9mm hollow point a little over 2 years ago. Dr. Menezes was in the ER when I came in, and he has been my guy for 12 more surgeries within those 2+ years. This guy has saved my life, not only that first night, but because of his expertise throughout. I think I could count the times he smiled and laughed on one hand, but that's because he takes his craft seriously. I've had some very intricate procedures and he has come through every time. This guy is a magician with a scalpel and cares deeply for his patients. If you ever find yourself in need of a genius in plastic surgery, Dr Menezes is your guy. 7/27/16 This review isn't based on Dr. Menezes as a surgeon, or even as a doctor in general. I have not had enough time to find out much about him. To skip to the reason for the 1 star, see paragraph 7. I was referred to him by my 9 month old son's pediatrician, and made an appointment. A little bit of trouble with the appointment. They said they didn't have a referral, even though I sent over a copy myself, as did his pediatrician. I also brought that referral to the appointment because they said it would be cancelled if I didn't. Not sure why that would be if they had it in their files. Typical doctor visit at the beginning, a small wait, not bad, and info collected by what I assume was the nurse before the doctor comes in. When Dr. Menezes came in, he seemed very professional, and caring. He was probably only in there for 2 minutes, and ordered a head CT Scan. Not knowing anything about the possible condition, which he doubts is even present, I went along with the orders. At home I read more about it, and it seems that the radiation from the CT can be avoided most of the time with a simple visual and "touch" inspection. It takes more time by the doctor, but doesn't expose an infant to that risk. It does seem that there is split feelings about that though. Still fine with doing the CT, Tonya or Tanya (I can't read her writing on the card), said she would submit the authorization to my insurance and call me soon. This is where the one star review comes into play. My appointment was on July 7th, it's now July 27th. Tomorrow is 3 weeks since the appointment. I called, trying to get an update, today, but "Tanya" wasn't able to be reached by the lady I was on the phone with. Prior to today's call, I have called 4 other times, talking with someone each time, and left 2 other messages for "Tanya" with the people I talked to. Each time they would say she wasn't in or something of the sort, but that she would call back. Today, I got someone that realized if a head CT of an infant is ordered, this might be a call to return. She (I wish I remembered her name, because she seemed to care) looked deeper into his file, and saw that the order had never been submitted. YOU'VE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!! She was even upset about it. She couldn't think of any reason why this order wouldn't have been turned in. There is a possibility that there is cranial pressure building up inside of an infant that can't tell you what hurts, and it has taken you 3 weeks and counting to do your job or return a call?!? Completely unprofessional. If it wasn't such a long wait to get to see a new specialist, I would wash my hands of this office completely. Again, this is not a slight on the Doctor, but rather on one person, who's job significantly impacts my child's wellbeing. I will update this post as things change. 7/28 Update Still no call back from "Tanya". Called today and I got the same lady as I did yesterday, her name is Pamela by the way, and very helpful. Again, I could hear the concern in her voice. She is very nice. She was reading over the notes, and saw that from my 7/20 phone call, prior to today there were 2 "URGENT" messages left for Tanya, still with no response. She was able to get ahold of her supervisor, and hopefully that will move things forward. Again, I'm trying to get a necessary medical test done for my son to make sure that his brain does not have too much pressure on it. Why is this approaching a month before she will do her job?!? read more

Doctor Menezes is the best! When no body in Nevada found out my boy health condition and other doctors trying to send me to UCLA. My dentist told me about him I went, he saw my son and found out his disease he also did the surgery, my son is better every day, he changed his life, he still need another surgery but in 5 more years but is no words in the world to be so grateful with this doctor. read more

I don't think I could ever overpraise Dr. Menezes and his unique skill-set. He is a gem in the middle of the Mojave Desert. He is the sharpest, coolest, and nicest person you could ever meet with to begin with. He has great bedside manners that keep everybody calm and controlled even under most stressing circumstances. Our baby girl was born with congenital birth defects, we were told by OBGYN specialists, that required surgery at 8 months. Needless to say, my wife and I were miserable; we were so depressed and helpless and under-informed. It was very intense, as we began our search for help. Then, we started hearing the same thing wherever we turned to: "oh, don't worry Dr. Menezes will take care of your baby." Of course we had no idea as to who he was and how good he was. We started looking into nationally recognized hospitals and surgical centers. But then traveling back and forth seemed very cumbersome, thus we decided to give the local doctor a try. We met Dr. Menezes in his Charleston office and it took us 5 seconds to subscribe to his plan and to commit to him. He is a very sharp, confident, and calm person with a radiant personality. He examined our daughter and laid a very detailed and clear plan and timetable in the first couple of minutes. We were extremely impressed by his confidence and knowledge. He was also very patient with us, two stressed and overly anxious parents. He helped us understand not only how he was going to operate and follow up, but also how we were going to conduct for a best outcome before and after the surgery. We repeatedly asked him numerous detailed questions and he always calmly took the time to make us feel comfortable. As such, he prepared us for the surgery. The surgery went extremely well. The recovery was full and swift as well. Now, it is over a year and everything seems like a very remote and faint memory. I don't know what we could have done without Dr. Menezes. Las Vegas is very lucky to have such a brilliant and skilled surgeon. And he is a genuinely nice and caring person. The best is his manners: his super confident and cold-blooded nature helps tremendously... If you are out looking for a surgeon, go see Dr. Menezes! We are forever indebted to you Doc! read more

This doctor is a truly remarkable human being. My son has had him as a surgeon twice, both times the bed side manner was unsurpassed. It was a miracle that we asked for a second opinion. Dr. Menezes is truly exceptional. I cannot praise him highly enough for his skill, dedication and professionalism, or begin to thank him for his willingness accept me as a patient. In December 2017, I broke my neck and back, completely crushed my nose, shattered my sinuses, fractured my maxilla (which required my jaw to be wired shut for 6 weeks), and had an ugly 3 inch gash from what used to be the bridge of my nose up through my frown line. My eye sockets and cheeks appeared hollowed out, and the lower region of my face appeared gaunt and overly long due to the separation of the maxilla from my cheek bones (sinus area). My face was unrecognizable and scary looking. I would notice people staring, but when I looked up, they quickly looked away. I couldn't look at my reflection in a mirror without crying. I kept reminding myself that it could have been worse and I was fortunate to be alive. But in truth, I was devastated. I realized that I would need extensive plastic surgery, but literally had no idea how I could even begin to afford it. Then I was referred to Dr. Menezes. He assessed the damage and explained in detail what it would take to reconstruct my nose, sinuses and septum, and the contours of my face. I would need cartilage grafts from my rib, fat injections and probably three surgeries to achieve the best results. And, he worked with my insurance company so I that could afford the reconstructive surgeries I needed to have. Ten days ago, I completed my second surgery. Two days ago, Dr. Menezes took the cast off my nose. Yesterday, I put some put some mascara on my eyelashes, blush on my cheeks and lip gloss on my mouth. I took a good long look at myself in the mirror that I had been avoiding for nearly a year. And I cried. Not because I was sad. I had not believed it was ever going to be possible to look like "me" again. But I do! The work he did on my face and cheeks and nose is absolutely beautiful. As overly dramatic as this sounds, Dr. Menezes has given me back my life. Thank you God for this brilliant man. Dr. Menezes should have more than the 5 stars. My 7 year old son needed to have a rather large mole removed from the side of his head and needed to have the removal completed by a plastic surgeon in a hospital setting. The doctor took the time to explain everything to us in detail. All facets of the mole removal were smooth: the pre-op consultation, the surgery scheduling, the surgical procedure, the follow up care were all superior. My 7 year old, curious as can be even had the opportunity to ask the doctor some questions which helped in making my son feel more comfortable about the anticipated surgery. The day of the surgery, my son was waving like a movie star to the nurses as he was entering the surgery room. You would have thought that he was a rock star the way he entered the room for surgery. I have never seen a kid so excited to undergo a surgical procedure. My son, is glad his mole is gone and actually thinks the scar behind his ear is quite COOL. In time it will fade and will become less noticeable. Thank you Dr. Menezes and staff for making a scary situation quite comfortable for my son, myself, and my husband. read more

Our beautiful daughter had to have cranial reconstructive surgery at only 6 months after being born prematurely at 34 weeks and only being 4 lbs 8 oz. It was the most difficult day of our lives and we could have never done it without Dr Blum and Dr Menezes. From the first appointment Dr Menezes put us at ease and informed us that he does many of these surgeries and that our daughter would be okay. He was comforting and informative to 2 very nervous scared parents. He was everything we needed him to be and most importantly he performed surgery on our daughter that went perfectly. She is 18 months now and healed perfectly with a scar you can barely see at all. She is running around with her twin sister smiling and laughing each day thanks to Dr Menezes' extremely important procedure. Dr. Menezes did surgery on my grandson 7 years ago after a very bad car accident, most of the bones in his face were broken. He did A LOT of reconstruction and we were not sure if he would ever look the same. We are not from LV and we were strangers in a strange town but the DR. and his team at the hospital made a 5 year old little boy feel as comfortable as he could in that situation. Today you would never know he went through the surgery and there is minimal scars. we feel with out DR. Menezes, things may have not turned out as well. My grandson is now in 7TH grade and a 4.0 student . We feel so blessed every day to have him and still praise God for the wonderful results of the surgery. read more

Great surgeon. Haven't been to him in years, but he performed a few surgeries on our son when we bought him home from China. He belongs to and works with the cleft lip and palate team. We might go back to him to have his nose cosmetically done, not sure yet still debating on whether to use someone who specialises in 'nose jobs'. He is very compassionate, kind and positive.
