I've had a lot of haircuts in my life but the one I had here ranks right up there as one of the worst ever. I guess to the lady I said "just off the ears" means how about cutting everything to about 1/8th of an inch, and please don't ever use scissors. I felt like I just went into an automated clipping machine and came out 5 minutes later looking like a sheared sheep. It's pretty obvious that she worked near a military base where "one size fits all" was the order of the day and you blew the customers through as fast as possible. I just received the worst haircut of my life. The only reason I gave it a two is because I have been going here for a year and have had good cuts. This person has cut my hair one other time, and wasn't the best, but not bad. I don't know if she didn't understand my requests, or she grabbed the wrong blades, or just did it her way? Wow. From Portland and was here for work. Needed to get a quick trim/cleanup, which is typically unremarkable. Not here. I will literally drive the 3 hours up to Gig Harbor and pay the Narrows toll for my next haircut, just to get this experience. First, my barber was extremely careful and detailed. She spent 15 minutes meticulously clipping around my head and checking her progress. Not a rookie, just detailed. When she finished, my haircut looked great, but she wasn't done. After vacuuming off all the loose stuff and cleaning me off, she pulled out the hot, moist towel. This isn't unique to them, but the head and neck massage that came next was phenomenal. She spent another three minutes rubbing my neck, hairline, scalp and temples. I almost feel asleep. If you're looking at this review to decide, just go. Now. Let me put it this way, worse cut ever and I'm 61 years of age; I will need to wear a hat for at least six months. My female (older) barber to a vacuum shear to my head and before I knew what hit me I was bald except for the very top of my head. Do not go to this place, I could not be more freaked out at how bad my cut turned out or should I say "complete scalping." My son and I have been going here since the current owners took over (2 years or so?) It was good at the beginning but every time we go now there are different hairdressers, most don't understand English very well and it's hard to communicate, they all have different numbers in their head as to what the cut should be. None of them use scissors which is a bad sign. It has gone down hill, they used to take their time and felt like they cared about the customer but know it seems they just want to move you along. awe will not be coming back. I don't like they face you away from the mirror? Why? Makes no sense unless they are trying to hide their bad haircuts. Where is the owner? I'm not keen on going to hair stylists. I just want a decent haircut. I realize that it is boring, but that's what I want. Walked in - no wait. I had brought reading material for the wait - now I couldn't read. Of course sitting in a waiting area and reading is not particularly fun nor efficient. But I was here for a haircut. Since this was my first visit we had a brief discussion of how I wanted it. "Cleaned up" was my instruction. I realize that was vague, but I'm pretty forgiving if it gets cut too short - hair grows. That's why we're here. I'm not one of those that knows how many inches and what size comb to use on the clippers to use on the side. I can't make much sense out of wine descriptions, either. The cut was excellent! I was cleaned up, but don't have that "you just got a haircut" look, which I appreciate. What I also appreciate is the hot towel massage of my scalp and neck. Very relaxing. Another nice detail is the towel and vacuum used when trimming the neck. No little pieces on hair down the back to itch for the rest of the day! I've been coming here for couple years now. I've learned I have to be specific. Once that got dialed in, I'm all good. I have short hair and I've stopped looking in the mirror when they held it up for me to inspect their work. I've concluded it doesn't matter because it'll grow back in couple weeks, which is how often I get cut. Absolutely no complaints. I liked the hot towel on the neck. They used to do the hot towel on the head, which seemed pointless because my hair served as insulation. Anyway, good cuts every time. They should add a price for military cuts. read more

The worst place you could EVER go for a haircut! Refused to even listen to me explain what I wanted. I said that I wanted my hair to be about 1" in the back and 1 1/2" on top. She cut it short (1/8") in the back and put a part in my hair on top. I have never had a pet in my hair in my life. The arrogance and indifference was incredible. It will take me 5 or 6 months of letting my hair grow out in order to repair the damage they did. They just do whatever they want to do and ignore anything that you try to tell them. The result is that you end up with an ugly hair cut that is non-fixable. Avoid this place like the plague! read more

If you want anything more then a simple cut your Out of Luck. I and my 6 year old son both have long hair. We went in for a trim. There were 2 ladies working that day. My son got up on the chair and she asked me what he wanted. I said keep it long. She said she could not do long hair and he would have to wait for the other lady. I have long hair as well and sat with the other lady, so she did my son's hair. It is awful. A really bad cut. I would have gotten better at great clips. They could not even cut his bangs strait. Should have noticed that everyone walking out looked exactly the same. Specifically requested longer layered cut on the side, not closely cropped above the ears, neck and sideburns.
