I went into KOKO Barbershop today (Wed. 4/9/25) and communicated to the barber not to trim the top and not the sides. Just a slight trim around the ears and clean up the neck area. I came out as if I were in boot camp. Cutting my hair was super short. I ask her did she not hear and understand my instructions, her reply was "SORRY ". My son was very happy with the haircut. He is autistic and a little leery about stuff. The owner(?) Asked questions and listened to what he wanted. Its nice to find a reasonable priced place. If you want a good cut go somewhere else!!! My hair was butchered and I have spots where she razored it that are bare even when I told her not to use the razor. She completely cut off the side burns and if she turns you away from the mirror where you can't see what she's doing you need to be concerned, I even brought in a picture so she could see the cut I was looking for If I could give this place no star I would. read more

I read the reviews here and opted to wait for Koko instead of the other woman. Despite showing her a picture of what I wanted on my phone, I still got a shitty military haircut that is RIDICULOUSLY high up. I can't believe how quickly it happened before I could stop her. Went by here to give it a shot. Havent found a barber worth returning to for various reason in my 10 months here. Well. Friday afternoon only one person working, waited for a person who walked in right in front me. In chair finally, i asked for a one around the sides, as always, she tells me i need a 1 1/2. I think maybe because she didn't have a guard that was a one. Cut was decent, faded higher than i wanted. I have a scar on the side of my head i dont like to show. Two people walk in while i am on the chair. She straight razor the back of the guy in front of me, didnt for me. Perhaps to cut time down since she was by herself. 21 for the cut. I had my card, she did something wrong on the register, ask me if i had cash. I did. To me, service was bad, definitely not treating customers equally. Cut was good, not what i asked for. read more

I asked for a simple low fade haircut loud and clear. Barber cut a horrible high fade military style. What's funny, she even sounded so confident. Charged me 30 bucks, I asked for low fade and she gave me high fade. Save your money. No wonder this place has little customers. If a barber shop is always full, that's a sign they good. We are newcomers in Port Orchard and decided to go to Koko for a haircut. This has been the best hair cut my partner has ever gotten in many years. Perfect fade and use of razor for military style cut. Price is very reasonable at $21. Covid precaution is enforced keeping everybody safe. Great service and personality! This was the most meticulous haircut I've ever gotten. It was as if she was working on her masterpiece - repeated touch-ups until she was satisfied. I really admire someone who works that hard on their craft. Well done. And the shop is very spacious, clean, well ventilated, and there are plastic curtains between stations for virus protection. I felt very safe there, as opposed to the look of most of the other shops I scoped out lately. Price was reasonable for the level of care she took with the cut, neck shave, hot towel, etc. I know I've paid more for a lot less of an experience. Great job. Highly recommended! read more

Honestly as a mixed race Filipino/ African American I must say growing up in kitsap county and moving to Las Vegas, I didn't have much hope for a quality AFFORDABLE cut. (Heck I have a hard time in Vegas) My entire life if I wanted a cut under 25 pre tip, I had to forego quality. Not today! When my Babrber felt she was out of her depth she called Koko in to take over since she had more experience. That was very unexpected. Imagine going in for a haircut...and then they shave you bald. That is just about what happened on my last visit. I showed a couple of pictures of a previous haircut I got from them to show exactly what I wanted. She was giving me that haircut and things were going fine until she spun me away from the mirror. I thought we were done and I was going to get the straight razor around the edges, but no. Without asking me, she started going all over the back of my head with an electric razor, totally eliminating the hair that was there. By the time she was done, I was left basically bald on the sides and back, which was definitely NOT what I asked for. I will NOT be going back and I will warn anyone away. read more

Worst haircut I have ever had. Did the exact opposite of what I asked. Told her multiple times no hard part and that I wanted a low fade. Instead, she gave me a jarhead cut with a hard part. Didn't listen to anything I asked of her and then acted as if it was a communication issue. Actually kinda comical how bad my hair looks at this point. May just shave it all off. read more

My fiancé goes here for his haircut and loves Koko. The past 2 times he went he got the other girl there and she has done a horrible job both times. My husband gave her specific instructions on how he wanted it but she didn't listen then preceded to tell him that "he didn't tell her the right thing and now he's wasting her time" when he asked her to fix it. What kind of customer service is that?! He went back today and koko had a line and the other girl didn't (I wonder why). He didn't want to go somewhere else so he gave her another try. Big mistake. His lineup is horrible and his fade is nonexistent. It looks like someone put a bowl on his head and cut around it. He assured me he wouldn't go back and if he did he would only have Koko. For all you guys, trust me, always go with Koko and not the other girl. The only reason I'm giving it 2 Stars is for Koko. read more

This is by far the worst haircut I've ever seen someone give my son. The barber "Nana" butchered it so bad that we might have to just shave his head and start over. She lacked the ability to scissor cut and how to give a proper fade. Listening was not in her repertoire. We told her exactly how we wanted it cut and she did the exact opposite and shaved up so high that my son looks like he's off to boot camp. I took my husband here to get his hair and beard trimmed to day that was very much needed. Koko, did a wonderful job! She took her time, was a perfectionist. She used the straight razor and my husband was very happy with the results. They were pricey, more then what I would pay for my own haircut, but I think worth it. We will be back. read more
