Pacific Quest seemed different from other programs we had considered, so we were hopeful for some positive change when we send her 5 thousand miles away. After the first few weeks it was clear that the program and the clinical staff were even better than we have hoped. Their holistic approach to health, emphasizing healthy diet, sleep, exercise and time in nature, balancing meds and supplements had an immediate positive impact. The care, kindness and respect that the highly qualified clinical team showed our daughter allowed her to trust and be vulnerable in her individual therapy as well as our family sessions. She learned so much about herself, her emotions and how to manage and name them, while we learned better ways to communicate with her and within our family, and how to repair broken trust. She is now attending an alternative boarding school, and for the first time in a long time, we are optimistic for her future and our family relationships. Hawaii is a magical place, and all the staff at PQ, the therapist, the medical team and the program team, make Pacific Quest a truly magical healing place. I highly recommend it.

Kaiser is losing its customer care service by rushing their patients and not "listening" to their…read morelegitimate requests. I was recently seen by a Chow Hwang PA-C for a painful 3+cm cyst removal on my midback centered over my spine. Local anesthesia was done. I was cut open and prodded to drain that cyst. Packed with dressing. PA-C Chow states it's gonna hurt after so I'll give you a work slip for 2 days. I mentioned a few vicodins should cover that pain.. easy fix. I asked the PA-C if she could cover the wound with Tegaderm/opsite for more protection from outside elements. Her first response was, "We dont have that here in the clinic." WTH?!? Im a retired Kaiser RN for 22 years. I know the clinics carry it. I also had to make sure the PA-C ordered a Rocephin IM injection to prevent any infection at the spinal site. She seemed hesitant thinking the prior course of oral Bactrim would take care of any infection. I also requested narcotic pain meds for comfort when the lidocaine wears off. Remember I came in because of pain to the site. Medical Assistant Marcia was awesome. While doing the dressing change she was able to get a few Tegaderms to help protect the surgical incision. Chow Hwang PA-C the clinic STILL HAS THEM. Thank you Marcia MA. When I went to the pharmacy to pick up my meds there were no pain meds and was told that the provider has 2 more patients then will get back to you. 40min passed and still no reply. Went to the front desk and asked a friend to call the MA to find out what's taking so long and also needed my work slip. Was told the MD is not prescribing pain meds. WTHHH! Make me wait like a dumbass for nothing like my time is not worth anything. Definitely not patient oriented. What happened to Kaiser?

This man is not a quack he's the BEST DOCTOR on the island. He specializes in chronic pain and…read morecertain phobias etc. You will not find another doctor like Dr. Heaster because he cares. People! Remember if someone's grumbling about a doctor who helps those in need and really cares their mad because he would not accept them or they most likely got themselves thrown off OR they don't even know him and listening to rumors. Ppl think that because he's the guy you go to to make it all better. When you just can't take the pain or anxiety is crippling you or disease is eating you away. He's not a candy store! So ppl say quack because they didn't fit his criteria. Not everyone can even get on his program. Anyone who ever criticized Dr Heastrr just couldn't have met him. He helped my husband with stage 4 bladder cancer appear healthy and pain free until the night he passed. Ten stars for Dr heaster because with out him what do the terminal and the chronic patients do. Well if that doesn't fit you don't bad mouth The helpful one, that's pilau. There was so many stupid doctors. Dr heaster just isn't one of them. If you need him don't suffer in silence because some jerks opinion because he's possibly drug seeking and Heaster knows these things. He's not for everyone but he's there in case you do need him one day and that badmouther will start singing his praises. Just don't lie or fool him. He can tell. Be honest!
