We really liked Mercadito Latino! They have a very nice selection of tacos, burritos, salads, sandwiches... Even ceviche! I went with a group of four and everyone said their dishes were tasty. We especially loved the bean dip and chips at the beginning. Yum. The waitress was nice enough to change a few dishes for us, but she forgot to check on us (which is weird since the place is quite tiny) so it took awhile to be served. It's been interesting tasting Argentina's interpretation of Mexican food. Though they are usually off, they always redeem themselves with their meat. This review is based off the tacos I ordered. I ordered tacos de carne asada. The flavor in the taco was delicious. I don't think Argentia is capable of producing bad meat. The tortilla however, it was a sorry crumbly mess that was smothered in a load of melted cheese. Why do they put melted cheese in everything? There was also very very very little salsa and cilantro on the taco. They did however have a tiny side of black beans and guacamole you can add to your taco which helps bring that freshness I crave. Not the tacos that I'm used to back in California or what my Mexican mom makes me but it's okay if you're craving something a little different from the regular fast food here. read more

Really nice to see a restaurant that does something different from the typical Argentinian meat and Italian food. They serve a pan-Latin American cuisine, covering everything from Mexico to Peru. Their plates are huge, more than enough food for one person. We had the bandeja and moqueca. The bandeja was loaded with tender, well seasoned beef. The moqueca was also tasty, especially the coconut milk "curry" seafood stew. Prices are slightly pricey, mid-200 pesos per plate. But definitely well worth it. After a week in Buenos Aires and having plenty of Argentine and Italian food, I wanted to have a little something different. The bellman at my hotel recommended this spot. It is a very quaint family ran business. The place was very simple. Just a small kitchen area and a few tables up front with a few on the sidewalk. There was no air and it was 90 degrees. We first ordered beer and then mojitos. Then mojitos were one of the best I've had. Just the right amount of everything. Then came the burritos. They were very tasty and came with a small salad and beans. I would definitely recommend that everyone take a chance on this place. Lots of goodness in this spot. read more

This is one of our favorite restaurants whenever we come to Buenos Aires!!! Their arepa is to die for, as well as their burrito. The heavy meat is perfectly complemented with the crisp guacamole and the corn (?) base is soooo good. I look for equivalents in Los Angeles but can't find it! We top off the heaviness with a delicious mix juice of orange and grapefruit. Come with a huge appetite as their servings are enormous. A relatively new spot, and yet another of those offering up "Latin American street food". Here, however, although with a menu of tacos, burritos, arepas, salads, etc., much like some of the others I've checked out recently, the pricing is a bit more "restaurant", though the space is completely casual. Most main courses run over 200 pesos. Even a plate of tacos, a bit smaller than most, comes in at 160. And, while they're decent tacos, they're nothing out of the ordinary - a glowing orange, crisp and chewy taco shell with a choice of chicken, beef, or pork (no combos allowed), with a little chopped onion and bell pepper, and a lot of very salty grated cheddar. Okay guacamole on the side, and a little unseasoned bean salad. They only offer one house hot sauce and it's pretty mild, didn't even break a sweat despite dousing the tacos in it. Adding insult to the bill, for a casual little spot like this, they tack on a 15 peso cubierto, for which you receive a little ramekin of broken commercial corn chips with some bland mashed beans as a dip. The food's good, it's just over-priced (a lunch of tacos and lemonade, with tip, came out to 260 pesos!), and service is, while friendly, pretty inattentive. (Considering having just tried Elote, where you get two bigger, better, and more creative tacos for 100 pesos, and more interesting and creative drinks for 40 pesos, I know where I'd go back to.) read more

Small restaurant in San Telmo. Food was very tasty. But be prepared for fried fish on the main courses. We had the shrimp (fried), the Pollo Haiti, and the Cerviche for 3 people. The restaurant is quite small and the music is a bit loud. But, a good choice for dinner in that area. read more
