It was truly one of the highlights of my trip and I would highly recommend visiting to anyone in the area, and I hope to go again in the future! The parking nearby was a short walk but nothing crazy, and once we got to the Market it was shaded very well and had such a variety of stands both inside and outside of the buildings which I loved. It was a little hot outside so it was nice to be able to rotate between both areas. There was also such a great mix of stores, restaurants, snack stands, and artisans and crafts throughout. We grabbed some aguas frescas to sip on while we explored and they were delicious and a great price for how big they were. We had a big breakfast but it would be nice to try some of the many lunch spots they had throughout the market. The stores had everything but I loved the amount of talavera pottery to choose from and stocked up as much as my suitcase would allow. Prices are super reasonable as well considering these are handmade artisan pieces. I use my tazas everyday and they are the best coffee cups I have ever had. The merchants are super friendly and helpful as well. Everyone was very welcoming and made it a great experience. I hope to be back in the future!

Unfortunately, the vendors' food was underwhelming and expensive. I was coming from California and was excited to compare Mexican street food in Texas, but the options were very bland. Esquites - $12, 5 street tacos - $18, Chicken Gorditas -$11, Agua Fresca -$10 I did enjoy looking inside the markets (don't forget there are 2 different buildings for you to do your shopping). You can find some inexpensive souvenirs mixed in with some of higher price points.

Her shop was clean, well stocked and full of imported items and original hand made jewelry that she makes herself. She spent time helping us while still greeting and welcoming other patrons into her shop. We witnessed another couple coming in for change for another business venture and she actually gave them the coins they were requesting. We bought several items from her shop and are happy with each item but most especially with the pleasant memory she made for us while shopping for them. We had a hard time visiting from Vegas where hospitality is everything, and the person working at this shop was the only person who made us feel as comfortable as we did at home. But thoroughly fun!…read more Most of the shops sell overpriced touristy trinkets- think of lowest common denominator stereotypes of Mexico turned into tourist items- from wrestling masks to shot glasses and everything else imaginable. A few shops sell more authentic items- the old ball-and-cup toys in one shop reminded me of childhood trips to Mexico long ago. Even though not an authentic market, it's a must see for visitors to San Antonio.

Love the local cats that wander around and live in some of the stores. The cats look homeless, but they are domesticated street cats. The stores have a lot of amazing locally made items - a lot of talented artists. One store - the bird and pear had fun stickers, art work and sauces, a lot of souveniers available. The prices were decent for a tourist area. There was a least one store that has a sign posted, no photos allowed in the store. Please be aware and respectful of these requests. I would love to be able to go back at some point when more stores are open.

The area is charming and has some interesting historic buildings, but many of the shops and galleries felt quiet, which made the experience a little underwhelming. I enjoyed walking through the village and appreciating the architecture and atmosphere, but it lacked the energy I was expecting. I can see how it would be much more enjoyable during a special event, festival, or later in the day when more businesses are open and there are more visitors around. It's a pleasant place to stroll through if you're nearby, but I would recommend checking the hours and event schedule before visiting to get the most out of the experience.

She was unbelievably knowledgeable, engaging, and truly made the entire tour special for our whole family. Sophia was especially wonderful with our kids and made them feel included and excited throughout the tour. At one point our youngest got scared, and Sophia immediately stepped in with so much kindness and patience that she had her smiling and feeling safe again within minutes. As parents, that meant so much to us. You can tell Sophia genuinely cares about what she does and about the people on her tours. She made the caverns come alive with fascinating information while also making the experience fun, relaxed, and memorable for everyone. Our tour guide, Michael, was super friendly, ensured our safety, made sure our girls had a good time (along with everyone else), and kept our tour engaged with hilarious humor! Price was good, staff was friendly, service was great, tour was as a good hike (should've worn shorts), and we had a wonderful time. Bring the family! You'll have a wonderful time. Tips: 1. Wear shorts and be ready to walk up and down, so wear those tennis shoes with decent grips. Gets a bit wet at times. 2. Don't follow Google maps that may lead you to their service road. Keep driving up the road and look out for their obvious signs towards their parking lot.
