At the Age of 13, I started working, as a real man. in my native country of Guatemala. At the age of 16, I already owned my own restaurant. I had surgery that became infected and I couldn't work for several years. A business without the owner on the premises. Is not a business at all. In the United States, I started working right from scratch having several Registered Businesses in the Town of Riverhead. I worked side by side with my workers. Back in 2002, I fell into the destructive illnesses of Bipolar disorder, Depression and Anxiety. I was very successful and saw my own businesses going down. From the depression, I then turned to sleep for 20 hours a day. I lost absolutely everything that I worked for so hard. In order to try to save what was left of my businesses. I broke the Law. I was back stabbed while incarcerated by another Latino and was arrested again.I then fled the Country for 7 years in 2004. Around 2006, the attorney told my family and friends here in New York and to me in Guatemala that everything on a second charge (even though I was on the run) was TOTALLY DISMISSED. Under my own recognition, I came back to the United States with two US Marshalls. This attorney lied so many times, in writing and also advised me to start a Lawsuit against the State of New York. I was in Riverhead, then in two different UpState Correctional Facilities and all because the LACK OF REPRESENTATION by this so called attorney. I am still on Parole, but maintain an excellent relationship with the Department of Parole who have advised me, (I never got a ticket or had a misdemeanor). to commence a lawsuit for pain and suffering against Ira S. Rosenberg of 200 Carleton Ave. Central Islip, NY. 11722. I am very well known among all the New York State Sgts. and C.O.'s starting from Riverhead. The sentencing Judge in the drug case gave me such a good deal and he gave me a letter of no License Suspension, A personal letter of Recommendation for the Department of Parole and credit for time served, (the Time that I spent in the Guatemalan Jail before being extradited back to the United States). He also waved his Surcharge and was so happy with my behavior that he told that he knew that I was going to do very well and even asked me about the Guatemalan Jails. According to the Judge the most that I would serve in Downstate Correctional was no more than two weeks. Otherwise he would have released me from Riverhead, but it was out of His Jurisdiction. All the attorneys in order to catch their clients, are the Judge's friends and they all play Golf together. I have gone through Real Hell and all because of the lies of this attorney. BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU PICK AN ATTORNEY. READ REVIEWS ON AVVO. I have the Court Minutes for both cases. The second one supposedly was a Court Mistake. Two times they brought me to Central Islip from Riverhead. I have fallen into a total depression, with bipolar attacks and anxiety and I am under the care of several doctors with heavily prescribed medication. But, what goes around comes around for sure.

Review for Christopher McGuire…read more I hired Christopher McGuire for a school-related legal issue. Although the outcome was acceptable, I am very disappointed with the overall experience--especially considering the cost. I was charged $25,000, which is extremely high for the limited services provided. The case involved no court appearance, and most of the work consisted of a few phone calls, letters, and emails. English is my second language, and I moved to the U.S. in 2017. I do not have knowledge of the American legal system, so I trusted Mr. McGuire to guide me with honesty and fairness. Unfortunately, I did not receive that level of support or transparency. I was billed a flat fee, but no one clearly explained what that meant or why it was appropriate for my situation. I later realized that the type of legal support I received likely did not justify such a high, flat-rate charge. About two weeks ago, I left a one-star review to express my concerns. After that, Mr. McGuire contacted me and asked me to remove the review. He mentioned they might be able to refund a couple thousand dollars and encouraged me to make an appointment to discuss it. When I arrived at his office, I expected a respectful, private conversation. Instead, I was brought into a room with his entire team seated around a table. Mr. McGuire greeted me by throwing a bag of mandarins across the table and saying "Happy New Year"--even though it was July. It felt awkward, confusing, and unprofessional. During the meeting, I was not given a chance to speak. Mr. McGuire talked the entire time and did not give me space to explain my concerns. It felt like I was being punished for speaking up. Even after that meeting, no refund was issued--not even a single dollar. As a registered nurse, I understand the importance of listening to people and treating them with respect during difficult times. I try to support my patients with compassion and professionalism, and I expected the same from my legal representative. Sadly, I did not receive that from Mr. McGuire. Seeking legal help is often a stressful and vulnerable experience. I reached out for support, but instead felt ignored, dismissed, and overcharged. I hope my experience encourages Mr. McGuire and his team to improve how they treat clients--especially immigrants and those unfamiliar with the U.S. legal system. -- Wen
