HOWEVER, I don't know if they have larger rooms; it was just 2 of us, we stayed in a standard king. So look for reviews from families or larger parties who stayed here. -Loud, you hear everything. Loud traffic, housekeeping vacuuming, construction right across the street people talking in hallway, and even planes occasionally. The staff were amazing, very friendly and the desk staff particularly the most helpful assisting me with an Internet issue and helping me troubleshoot on a very personal level. The restaurant cuisine was very good, the staff again gave great personal service and I even talked with the chef for several minutes when he came to my table to talk about the food and generally have a brief chat. I stay in hotels in Sydney on the odd occasion, this visit was a real standout experience and very consistent throughout. Five stars without a doubt.

Throughout the week, we made the bed and noticed when the sheet was amiss that the comforter was stained and disgusting. Be aware of what you're looking at when you see the dirty comforter pics. Otherwise, the staff was very welcoming, nice and a pleasure to interact with. They stock the fridge with mini bar goodies if you request.

We celebrated my sister-in-law's 60th birthday at the hotel. The food was great, every course a winner. We had wonderful service, the staff were terrific. Now I go to the Spa at the hotel. It's in a separate building, right next to the swimming pool and it is really rather luxurious. They offer all sorts of things like body wraps and stone massages . On check-in with the friendly Aussie reception, we received a pint a of milk for our tea. Free milk? Even if we are out in the mountains, this is a civilized place ;) Oh and the hot breakfast was amazing. Motels in the States are quite different, but to be fair, the room prices were much closer to a lower end hotel. Make sure to ask about WiFi password, and how to turn on the electric blanket before reception closes. It was unseasonable chilly, and were too lazy to figure out night reception, but luckily we got the radiator to work. FYI, the phone didn't connect to anything, but we (typical Americans) had a good laugh at the STD line sign. Turns out STD stands for the state run telephone service. Definitely recommended!

She upgraded my room for free, so I got a suite on the 10th floor with a view if the beach. It was even cooler to see the airport, actually. She also came around from the country and showed me which pamphlets were useful for sightseeing. Awesome. My biggest problem is that there is no free internet. Well you can get it for free for 30 min in the lobby, but that's crazy.

Perfectly situated at the end of Katoomba's main street, this place is also perfectly adequate for a night or two's stay, and perfectly priced. They get tons of blow-ins for weddings, weekenders, that kind of thing, so generally you can't check in before the 1.30 advertised time as they'll still be cleaning rooms from 10.30am checkout.

The place is great, we got the one bedroom apartment and as an added bonus we also had the washer/dryer combo in the room so one doesn't need to bring too much clothes as you can do your own wash. One of the downside of a combo washer/dryer, you actually have to hang your clothes to fully dry. The room was work great for us as the kitchen/living room turned into another room at night utilizing the sofa bed. The wait staff was friendly. There was a restaurant but we didn't eat there as there were many places to grab some grub. One of my complain will be the parking garage, I must not be a good driver since I can't navigate the tight turns. I had to back out a few turns since I can't make the rental car fit the opening. I am glad I wasn't driving a SUV because I would have damaged it for sure. The establishment was near Sydney and there was a shopping center within a ten minute drive. I would definitely stay here again but with a smaller car.
