My favorite linen jacket is dry clean only. It is lined on the inside, and has embroidery details on the sleeves and the bottom of it. I brought it to Mercury Dry Cleaners in Bloomfield because they have a sign outside that says 'same day service'. They can also deliver your dry cleaned items to your door. I went to drop off my jacket on Monday at 4:30. The girl said it would be ready the next day at 4:00, this was perfect for me. She asked if there were any stains that needed special attention, I said no. It was only $6.00 for the dry cleaning of my jacket. I could pay at pick up or at drop off. I went to pick it up the next day. It was perfect, on a hanger, with a clear bag over it. My jacket was clean and smelled fresh. I was very happy with the service. It was efficient, very quick, as promised and at a great price. I recommend going here for your dry cleaning needs. read more

I brought a dressy evening gown in here which I recently wore at a new year's party and explained to them that because of the rhine stones it needed special care. They reassured me they handle all their customer's garments with special care and have dealt with fragile clothing garments like mine before which have rhine stones or other kinds of decorative ornaments . They seemed very confident in their ability to be able to clean my gown without damaging it. However I still felt just a bit uneasy because of bad experiences I've had in the past with dry cleaners. I'm sure a lot of people can relate to this.. But when I went to pick my gown up a couple days later, everything was completely intact. None of the rhine stones fell off and the gown looked exactly as it had when I first brought it in the day after new year's. (Minus the small spill stain from one to many drinks the night before, (lol) which they were able to get out completely. My gown had that fresh, crisp smell and feel to it afterwards, almost like I just bought it new for the first time. This was my first time using this particular dry cleaner but I was certainly impressed with their professionalism and prompt service. Thank you so very much. Mercury Cleaners exceeded all of my dry-cleaning expectations! I am very picky about where I bring my clothes and accessories for cleaning, because I worked for a dry-cleaner in New York for several years, and my former employer is the best in the area. When I dropped my things off, I had a good assortment: several ties, a vintage white coat, two scarves, a few suit vests and a dress. I also brought two Coach bags with me- a full-sized bag and a nylon wristlet- in hoped that these could be cleaned as well. The woman at the counter (I didn't catch her name, but she is a DOLL) wrote up all my stuff, and put my Coach items on a separate ticket, in case the owner didn't think they could be cleaned. A day later, the owner, Rocco, called me himself to talk about my bags. He prefaced by saying that there were no guarantees, but that he was pretty sure he could get them clean. I assured him that I had worked in the business before so I knew the score and completely understood where he was coming from, and that I trusted him. He asked me if $30 for both bags was a fair price, and I agreed that it was. A few days later I returned and all of my things were ready. My clothes and Coach bags were beautifully cleaned! I was so satisfied by the service at Mercury Cleaners that I will most definitely be going there with my clothes from now on. read more

We have been customers for several years and have always been delighted with Mercury's service. But we became customers forever when Mercury went above and beyond the call of duty one time. Our son had just started in the police academy and was told on a Friday afternoon that he had to come back on Monday with his uniform shirts having a "military press." We didn't even know what it was. We called Rocco, he knew what was needed, and opened his business for us on a SUNDAY just to help our son. Who does that!! These folks are the best. read more

I had a very negative experience at Mercury and would not recommend them. My wool scarf shrank and the colors of my throw ran. The worst cleaning happened when I brought in 2 silk sleeveless blouses for cleaning. There were stains under the armpits and the sign posted read that the store does not guarantee removal of stains. When I picked up the shirts there wasn't any notice about stains and/or damage to the blouses. I finally went to wear the blouses and what a surprise! There were major rips and the blouses were torn under the the armpits. The owner refused to take responsibility and gave me $10 for cleaning the blouses rather than a credit toward the value of the blouses. I used my credit and will never return to the store. i have found another local cleaner whom I trust will provide better cleaning and customer service. read more
