It was a great experience…read more This is a small neo-Pentecostal church which has the good qualities of a much larger contemporary style church and yet maintains the best qualities of a small church. The congregation is made up of a nice balance of young, middle and older people. The worship is as good as it gets anywhere. One thing I haven't seen before is that the worship team returns after the sermon and continues the praise as an afterglow. But, back to the beginning. Before the service you can come in at 9 am for breakfast and fellowship. The worship service starts at 10 am on Sundays and is the expected hour and a half long with the afterglow going to about noon. They do, however, need to make that schedule clear on their website and app. Their greeters are top notch. Dave and Carolyn introduced themselves to us right away, Dave having spotted us before we got to the front door! The pastor, Justin, is a very good preacher. For me that means that the sermon was helpful for my spiritual life. He is skilled in delivering a message that you don't forget as soon as you walk out the church door. He made a special effort to come up to us at the end of the service. He said "I'm Justin" and asked our names. Made me feel welcome and at ease. They have an app, which can be used for giving as well as providing information. They will probably see us again. Want to check out the breakfast, too! While I am not of the Christian faith, what is familiar to me is going to Catholic churches since I was a kid especially during the holidays. It is usually for a holiday concert and even now as an adult, I almost feel like its part of my own tradition to go and listen to a holiday concert at a church. It feels me with warmth and time to slow down and reflect. And in many ways, its very sacred to me to be able to do this. I almost thought that this year I wouldn't get to experience a holiday church concert so when my friend asked me to come, I was beyond elated. I dont know that I know how to explain here that although I am not Christian, how important holiday music and church concerts are to me. There is some where inside my heart where there is an opening for Christianity. It complicated but some of my family members are Christian. In any case, the main church area was nicely decorated for the holidays and while its an older church, the acoustic worked well. Lots of pews available and I noted tinted glass too. The Gregorian chant music group, Floriani, was phenomenal and their singing was very moving. And very powerful. It is well worth a listen and has a calming and grounding effect. Parking lot worked out OK and this church is in a convenient part of town. Id come back again especially if there is concert.

Pastor and his wife are amazing people. They truly do care about the people in the church. The elders are super nice. I came in thinking that I would just hide in the back and hoping no one would notice me. Nope, boy was I wrong. Everyone greeted me. It's literally the most loving place I've been to so far here in Arizona and it has been truly amazing. Now, I look forward to Thursdays bible study, Women of Wisdom Saturdays, Sunday mornings and Singlehood Simplified Fridays. If you are new, my recommendation - bring a notebook and your bible. Pastor covers EVERYTHING. I mean EVERYTHING. If I had any thoughts or questions from that week, I would write them down, and he would always answer all my questions in his sermons. It trips me out. He's good - really good. Maybe, he reads minds . Nah, just kidding. It's definitely God. I've taken some of my friends here from out of state -- ranging from all different religions, buddhist, muslim, etc. and they loved it. They wish they had a church like this in the Bay and in Hawaii. His way of teaching is unique -- truly an avant-garde way. It's different - it's not boring and they like to have fun. lol.
